If Gunnery Sergeant Zane Hall wants to save his family’s ranch, he’ll need to fix up the buildings, stock the spread with cattle—and find a wife. The first two are easy with the help of his brothers, but getting hitched is proving more difficult. When he meets mountaineer Kenna North through an online ad, she seems like the perfect fit—at least in her e-mails. She wants the same thing he does: a … a temporary marriage to secure an inheritance. But when Zane meets Kenna, she’s nothing like he expects, and Zane finds himself changing his priorities, fast.
If Storm Willow wants to save her family’s seaside cottage, she’ll have to keep her boss happy—which means taking Kenna’s place and marrying Zane when Kenna is detained out of the country. As long as Storm acts her part, no one will know that she’s an imposter. But when she falls for the handsome Marine, Storm begins to wonder if holding onto the cottage is worth giving up on love.
Can a fake marriage lead to real happiness? Or is disaster just a heartbeat away?

I started reading this story in the evening and I was so mad, I can’t believe I was able to go to sleep after being angry thru 11 chapters. I was so mad at Kenna. How could she? Now for the rest of the story, and after a night to cool myself off, I fell in love, just like Zane and Storm! I’d say “all’s well that ends well”, although, it hasn’t ended yet! This has been a fun series to read with great characters!
Always love Cora Aaron’s books, she makes the characters come alive.
Zane’s turn
Zane decided to write his own as for a temporary wife, and he got an answer from Kenna was a a mountain climber. But when it came time to get temporarily married she sent Storm. Storm was doing it for the money to help her mom and sister, but little did she know she would fall in love. Can they fix it on time.
Show there is someone for everyone. You just don’t always find them in the way you expect to. Fun and easy to read with a super hot hero.
I love this entire series!
Bought one, bought them all like popcorn can’t stop!
Excellent installment of the Hall family Chance Creek eeries. There are a couple of consistency issues, mostly with Regan & Ella’s job / activities. In the first story Regan was assisting people seeking to purchase property & making up business cards to continue to doing so. In 2nd story Ella was going to be looking after the horses and checking into equine therapy. There were several times I felt a Deja Vu of having read it somewhere elee recently. I guess when a good story idea comes out, others want to use it or something similar as well.
Love Cora Setton’s books
“Warning Spoilers” I loved this 3rd book’s story line. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. I loved how Zane & Storm met. I loved Zane’s character. I loved Storm’s character. I thought Cheyenne was selfish. I loved the scenes with Mason, Austin, & Zane. I loved how Belinda stood up to Darren. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Seton.
The family saga #book 3 showing us even strangers can fall in love and change the lives of people around you. Taking a chance to follow your heart.
Read the whole series and boy we’re they good. One for each of the the military services. Really great. Read one and you’ll be hooked.
Here’s the thing… Ms. Seton has definitely found a sweet spot in her writing and put it to good use. While this book may be a tad formulaic, there are just enough minor details to keep the story interesting.
I’ll be honest, it wasn’t until much later in the book that the heroine grew on me. She seemed weak, easily manipulated, and kind of spineless. Her saving grace was her kindness and selflessness, which was a good thing since her mom was pretty selfish through most of this.
Oddly enough, it was the ancillary characters that I grew to admire. Zane’s cousin’s wife, Belinda, was the compelling person in this story. While her life hadn’t been easy, she refused to play victim or bad mouth her husband. When he didn’t take well that she was “working for the enemy,” a point of view his father cultivated until he died, she found a way to help him see his own worth and build him up. I was almost disappointed that this story wasn’t theirs. Storm, the heroine, could’ve learned a few things from her.
All in all, this was a typically good Seton read and one I’d recommend.
Cora Seton did it again with this third book of the Hall brother, it is absolutely AMAZGINLY BRILLIANT! Gunnery Sergeant Zane Hall is as sexy as his twin Austin and older brother Mason, but I love his honesty and how ridiculously loyal he is. I love that when Zane loves someone its wholeheartedly and fierce. Zane is also caring around demons that threaten what is building between him and Storm. Zane and Storms romance is a rollercoaster ride of emotions of betrayal, deception, love, lust, passion, guilt, longing and love. Storm Willow is coerced into taking her boss Kenna North’s place as Zane’s new wife in Crescent Hall or loose her job, she will do anything to save her family cottage, so she reluctantly portrays as her boss. Zane isn’t the only one with secrets and hers can ruin the Hall’s brothers from keeping the ranch. Disaster is lurking around the corner and Aunt Heloise is sure to find out. I loved this story as much Mason’s and Austin’s. These books are simply amazing and a must read. I can’t wait to read the others in his series since I purchased all of them
I loved this book! I can’t help but to keep thinking about it even as I am reading over books.
Who wouldn’t fall for this man. Steamy.
