Dr. Amelia Crockett’s life was going exactly the way she had always planned—until one day it wasn’t.
When Mia’s career plans are shattered, the always-in-control surgeon has no choice but to head home to Paradise Ranch and her five younger sisters, cowboy boots in tow, to figure out how to get her life back on track. The appearance of a frustrating, but oh-so-sexy, former soldier, however, turns … however, turns into exactly the kind of distraction she can’t afford.
Even though Mia can’t stand the sight of him, Gabriel Harrison has never returned the sentiment. He can’t seem to resist teasing the gorgeous doctor who pushes all of his buttons. And the searing hot kisses they share are turning him inside out.
As she begins to work with Gabe, helping former vets recover from severe PTSD with the aid of some wild Mustangs, Mia finds herself becoming more like the person she used to be. She never expected to alter her life plans, and definitely never expected to fall for anyone, least of all the handsome Gabe. But fate and some lucky red boots have a way of changing things. As their lives become more complicated, will Mia and Gabe’s love be enough to smooth the way to a happily ever after?

Finally a book with a romantic yet realistic plot. Not filled with graphic sex scenes on every page.
Totally enjoyed the twists and turns and how it all worked out.
Well, this was a pleasant surprise. I’m not gonna lie, it was the cover that had me picking this one. But as fun as that cover is, there’s a lot more to the book! The characters are wonderful and well developed. The entire story, I’m sure the series, is set around the Crockett family who own one of the largest cattle ranches in Wyoming. Paradise Ranch is nestled at the foot of the Grand Tetons and the descriptions of the land are beautiful and soothing. Now, this is the first book in the series that I’ve read and as much as it’s part of the story of the six sisters, it could be a stand-alone. I didn’t have any trouble at all picking up on the roles of each sister in the family and the rest of the characters.
Gabe and Mia are interesting. Each of them is driven in their own way. Mia is on a fast-track in her medical career in NYC. Gabe has realized that success can take a different route than the one prescribed by society and has opted for a more relaxed life working at the VA helping fellow vets with PTSD and TBI. His methods are unconventional, but he’s determined to pull his ragtag band of brothers through their worst times. Mia joins the fight after a devastating decision by her hospital’s board of directors gives the job she thought was hers to a second-year resident. She heads home to Paradise Ranch to lick her wounds and finds there may be more to life and success than she thought.
This book is filled with flawed but strong and determined characters who approach life head-on. There are layers to all the circumstances and events in the story, but it boils down to choosing to follow your heart or your head. There are some good lessons to be learned in this fun book!
Great book. I really enjoyed it!
Happy ever after with a twist
Loved this book so much that I immediately read the other two in the series. Can’t wait for the next…
Fun read enjoyed it a lot
This is a book about a doctor who has put being a doctor her main goal in life. She works so hard that she has lost some of herself and is not the best with her ability to deal with other doctors and family members of her patients. In this book she gets the chance to find her true self again. She meets a wonderful vet who has a band of men who have had trouble dealing with life after coming home from war. They help each other in lots of good ways. I have already ordered the rest of the series because I enjoyed this book so very much.
It was more than just a normal romance book. Covered a lot of issues
Liked it, fun to read!
After Amelia Crockett plans for becoming a surgical doctor in NYC fall through, she is left feeling disappointed and not sure what to do, her only option is to return home to Paradise Ranch. Her plan is to spend some time with her family and hopefully also gain some perspective as to what life path she should follow next. Returning home also means putting herself in close proximity to former soldier Gabriel Harrison, which is quite unsettling for her…
Gabriel Harrison is a former soldier who finds his time is now best served helping fellow vets suffering from PTSD. He has also been helping out the Crockett family, and has been keeping Dr. Amelia Crockett updated on her younger sister’s physical therapy status via email and phone. He has been taking great pleasure in irritating the good doctor long distance…but now that she is returning home all bets are off..
This was another wonderful addition to the Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys series, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Gabe and Mia’s story. Their heated banter had me smiling like a fool the whole way through, and blushing a few times too!! I can’t wait to see what Ms. Selvig has in store for the Crockett family next!!
