When you make an enemy of a man like Vitaly Karahalios, there is nowhere on earth you can go to escape his wrath. He’ll find you. He found me, he found Roth. He found Layla. He found us, and now the unthinkable has happened. Someone I love has been kidnapped. Again. This isn’t a fairy tale. Not everyone will get a happily ever after. Sometimes we can’t just walk away from the past. Love doesn’t … doesn’t always save the day. The beast won’t always get his beauty. But maybe, just maybe we can get our happy ending.

Tying up this amazing trilogy in a perfect way. And Layla, what can you NOT say about Layla she brings any story alive, bigger and brighter. Non-stop action throughout this book definitely had me hooked and earned a well deserved 5 stars!
A Fitting End to a Brilliant Story Arc… After the emotional whiplash of book two I was uncertain I was prepared for what possibly awaited me in “Omega”, the third and final installment of Jasinda Wilder’s Alpha Series. I was uncertain and uneasy because “Beta” was gut churning. It made bile rise up in my throat, and I cringed, and gasped, and seethed with rage at the terrors both Roth and Kyrie endured. It attacked my senses like a pit viper and pushed me to the limit of my emotional fortitude and as a result I was unsure I could take another all-out assault on my senses. However, as if understanding my need to take a breath after the fiery paced juggernaut of “Beta”, Wilder again brilliantly changes tempo. And with “Omega” takes her time for a few chapters, breaking the book down into two main parts and slowing the momentum in part one, just enough for you to restore your heart back fully into your chest. But, not so much that you lose the anxious butterflies in your stomach.
Then, just as you alllllmost feel lulled back to safety, she hurls you brutally back into the thick of danger surrounding them all in part two! Reminding you that the threat from Vitaly is still all too real, lurking predatorily, waiting to take his promised kill. And within three sentences you are thrown back into the frantic pace of life, death, and merciless push for revenge that has dominated the series.
“Omega” is the perfect combination of the first book’s slow, sultry march, and the second’s neck breaking speed toward seeming doom. Beginning a few months after “Beta” ends, this third and final installment begins with Roth, Kyrie, Layla, Harris, et al. still on the open ocean, hiding, planning their next moves, and dealing with the emotional consequences of what has been set in motion for all of them after ending Gina. It brilliantly and organically allows us to glean a fuller understanding of Roth’s world from those living in it with him. It brings Layla, Harris, and several new characters to the forefront of the story providing an intricately layered yet properly (and gloriously) organized transfer from Roth, Kyrie, and their Alpha Series, to Harris and Layla’s “Alpha One Security” spin off.
However, unlike the first two books I did find a few hiccups with this one. Unlike other multi-book series I’ve read this one was flawless in its transitions, the flow from scene to scene, and book to book, superb, until the second part of this installment. For example, there’s a bit of a jump in attitude with Harris between the last chapter and the epilogue. He does a complete about face and I wish there would have been a bit more at the end with him and his seeming change of heart concerning the epilogue scene after spending the better part of the last chapter convincing Layla to go without him. Additionally, and more importantly, I wish there would have been a better weaving of the Vitaly character from the point of the Cut/Layla scene forward. After such a big moment in the story, he and his reaction is completely forgotten and sadly does not circle back to a full and proper explanation to why he decides to approach Layla alone at the end. Nor is an explanation given as to why he is able to track Layla the way he does throughout. Something that is referenced over and over again, but never actually explained. All detail I would have liked to have seen tied up neater and which would have given a more satisfactory conclusion.
However, despite the loose ends staying frustratingly loose, “Omega” is a fitting end to this arc of the story and still a must read in my opinion. Now on to Alpha One Security and some more Harris!
This series is addictive! A great read!!
This is the last book in a three book series by one of my all time favorite authors…Jasinda Wilder. I have read the whole series several times and am always amazed at Jasinda’s ability to mix adventure, mystery, fascinating characters and lots of steamy romance.
The first book in the series is “Alpha” and is a stand-alone story full of romance, off-the-chart sexiness, and an unexpected and interesting mystery revealed toward the end.
The second book is “Beta” and it’s all of the above but now mixed with heart-racing adventure. Just superb.
Omega’s story line is also filled with adventure, takes off with a bang at breakneck speed that doesn’t really let up until the very satisfying end.
If you’re going to read the series, they should be read in order. If you’re doubtful, read “Alpha” first. But you’ll be hooked I bet for the next two. Fantastic books!
I listened to the Audiobook of Omega and I absolutely loved Summer Roberts narrating this. Her ability to portray each character so well is a gift! She handled the girls especially well and she was a joy to listen to. If you have not read Alpha-book one, or Beta-book two, go back and start there. It is essential to understand how the characters are where they are in Omega.
Well, I have to say this book was much different than I expected it to be. Given the way the other books rolled out, I was expecting the same type of book-even amped up from those. I enjoyed Omega-loved it even, but I felt it didn’t wholly fit the series.
Kyrie St. Clarie and Valentine Roth are in hiding from Roth’s former mentor and mob boss, Vitaly. Vitaly is out for revenge after what was done to his family-even though it was started by his family. Anyone and everyone close to Kyrie or Roth is on Vitaly’s target list. No one is safe.
Layla Campari is Kyrie’s best friend and was whisked away by Nicholas Harris-head of security for Roth, from her life to be with Kyrie on their boat the Eliza, for her protection.
Even with security being extremely tight, Kyrie and Roth have settled into there extravagant lifestyle. Layla is starting to go stir crazy. She’s used to being busy with school and multiple jobs-not just lay around sunning herself every day! Kyrie suggests she let off a little steam with Harris, but Layla plays it off. Harris is hard and unyielding. Dedicated to his job, he doesn’t dilly-dally with clients so it’s not even on the table!
Vitaly strikes and Layla is taking hostage. Harris and Roth try to figure out where Vitaly takes her-but she’s virtually vanished. This is where we get to know Layla on a personal level. I have to say she’s a hard-core but hilarious woman. She credits her abilities to growing up in Detroit and that shit makes you real! I am in love with her! I was cracking up at some of her words and she is incredibly resourceful in a pinch! Even though her upbringing was just awful, she has a comical way about how she handles herself and life. The whole Bic pen scene had me laughing so hard!
Although it went in a much different direction that the other two in the series, Omega was well-written and a brilliant read. Tons of gun blazing action and of course over-the-top sex scenes! A couple went on rather long but they were scorching hot to read! I only have one negative, and that is the Vitaly ending. It seemed anti-climatic considering the story thus-far. I didn’t know what to expect, but I wanted more for that.
Overall, the Alpha series is definitely worth your time to read! I am glad to see Harris is getting a spin-off series based on his Alpha One Security! That will offer us plenty of gun toting stories to get your blood pumping I am sure! Plus some much needed check-ins with the characters from the Alpha series that we have grown to love!
I enjoyed this book. I recommend it. I would like to give it 4 1/2 stars but cant.
