Miller Spurlock might seem like a laid back man on the outside, but piss him off, or violate his trust, and he’ll show you the meaning of pain.
He was a Navy SEAL. He could kill a man a hundred different ways and not break a sweat.
He’s also a police officer and member of the SWAT team, which means he has the knowledge and skills to get away with it.
Rage boils in his gut when he witnesses … his gut when he witnesses what happens to the beautiful Mercy Shepherd during a SWAT op from hell that even his worst nightmare couldn’t conjure up. And it surprises the hell out of him when she wants him, and him only, to comfort her in the aftermath.
Miller becomes the one shining beacon of light at the bottom of Mercy’s pit of despair.
The one man that could pull her through the rough days ahead and make her whole again.
And during her road back to herself, she realizes that she’s got the one thing she ever wanted in life…a hero to call her own.

this one has been my favorite so far thru all the others books that came before it. with the love that they had for one another is one that grew from just being there for one another. they are a couple that one just has to root for. Miller and Mercy’s story is one that is an emotional one. Mercy is just someone that has not been lucky when it comes to relationships. and Miller has been secretly wanting more in life than just sex with a woman. the way that these two come together might have been something that would bring some down to their knees. but, in turn made their bond stronger.
Well this story definitely starts off a lot differently than some of the others. At first you wanna cry but then you get mad right along with Mercy and wanna mess some stuff up.
The way that Mercy over comes what happens to her is inspiring. She had spirit and a will to fight.
Miller is just an amazing supportive man. He is there for Mercy in any way she wants. You can’t help but swoon.
Go read their story you won’t be disappointed
An emotionally beautiful journey to go on with Miller and Mercy. You will go on an emotional roller coaster ride with this story. What started out as tragic turns into an unconditional friendship, that leads to more. Lani Lynn Vale wrote this story in the most respectful way, she has an unbelievably unique style of writing that pulls you in, holds you captive and leaves you smiling in the end. I loved this book.
Miller Spurlock saves Mercy Shepherd after a brutal attack by her boyfriend then they keep meeting again and again. I love these characters of this KPD SWAT. While I loved this story I just felt that Mercy wasn’t as believable as Miller in what they had experienced and were feeling about each other. She just seemed to close off what had happened to her. I still loved the story but it lost a star from me due to Mercy, but I do love Miller so much!!!
I really liked the building connection between Miller and Mercy. What started from a traumatic experience quickly grew into a friendship. Although Mercy forced their relationship to start sooner then it should have, they really didn’t skip a beat. It didn’t matter how fast it happened they were truly meant for each other.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale is the fourth book in her KPD Motorcycle Patrol series first which takes place further along the timeline than this series, HOWEVER, this series is off to a great start. I have come to expect sensational plot twists, the steamiest of sexy times, and the kind of insta-love that leaves you panting and I was NOT disappointed with Miller and Mercy’s story. This books starts out smack dab in the middle of a negotiators nightmare. Mercy Shephard is attached and Miller Spurlock is on the SWAT team that eventually rescues her. As someone who is known in the community thanks to her fire chief father and her own work with Second Chances she leans on Miller to get her the medical help she needs anywhere but in the small town of Kilgore. Being there for her at that time forms a bond between them that just exponentially grows. The story is dark but there is also plenty of heat and steam and healing and even fun to be had in the story of Miller and Mercy! Enjoy!
This one is about Miller and Mercy. This one I have to admit was a little rough to get through. This one covers a very tough subject for me. But Lani writes it in a great way. She covers the subject with gentleness and gives Mercy the power to overcome what happens to her. Miller is there for Mercy from the beginning when everything goes down. Miller is a playboy not looking for a relationship but Mercy brings out his protective instinct. Mercy asks Miller for his help with something. Something that will change everything between them. Will Miller stay or walk away? I absolutely loved reading this storyline with these two characters. You can easily see how strong Mercy is and how alpha of a male Miller is. This was a great addition to this series. My favorite in the series.
Execution Style is the fourth book in the Code 11 – KPD Swat series. Miller and Mercy’s story reminds us just why the Spurlock brothers stole our hearts. Their story is confronting, emotional and nothing short of amazing. Even reading this the second time it took me on a roller coaster of emotions and at times left me feeling overcome by the strength of Mercy. Their book will make you wish and hope for someone as genuine as Miller.
The audio of Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale, narrated by Mason Lloyd and Kendall Taylor, was an emotional story that will grab you from the start. Miller Spurlock is angered by what happens to Mercy Shepherd as part of being on the SWAT team. His protective instincts come out full force and she finds safety and strength in him. He was sexy, charming and a total alpha. Mercy was struggling after the trauma she faced. She was trying to be strong and find a way to move forward. After such traumatic events, can Miller and Mercy find a future together?
I loved the audiobook of Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale and the narrators truly did an amazing job bringing Miller and Mercy’s story to life and allowed us to experience their story.
Listened and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy listening!
4 Star Review Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale
AUDIO REVIEW:
I listened to this book on audio and was invested right from the start, the narrators Mason Lloyd and Kendall Taylor, who are both new to me, did a good job and enhanced my listening experience.
Be prepared that the subject matter right from the start may cause triggers in some, so be prepared.
Miller Spurlock, a Navy Seal and a member of SWAT has seen more than most people have in a lifetime, the good and the bad and he knows that horrible things happen to good people, as is what transpires for Mercy Shepherd, through no fault of her own.
He is floored when Mercy turns to him to help her after her horrendous ordeal. Mercy is a strong and determined woman and I admired her greatly. Miller was such a caring and hot alpha male that you could not help but be drawn to him.
Will Miller be able to help Mercy whilst she is at her most vulnerable or have the events that brought them together destroyed her?
I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter of this book. Of course, I thoroughly enjoy every boom by Lani Lynn Vale! Thank ya, Lady for all your stories!
Oh, Miller Genuine and Mercy Me… I do believe you are my FAVORITE couple of the SWAT series so far!
Besides the awesomeness that is Miller and Mercy, you get to hear from so many of your other favorite Lani Lynn Vale characters, something I always look forward to in these books! You also get the requisite love-to-hate bad guys, some exciting danger/action scenes, some sexy goodness and did I mention a WWE smackdown between the Dixie Wardens/Spurlocks and some Hulk Hogan wannabes?
But back to my two new favorite people-
Mercy… I love her like I love all of the signed pretties on my bookshelf… and that is so damn much. She remained amazingly strong throughout one of the toughest situations a heroine has ever had to go through. I admired her courage, her kindness and her honesty. The crap she had to put up with was ridiculous but instead of dwelling on it, she grabbed it by the balls, twisted them suckers and moved on with the love and support of her family and friends.
Miller… I’m gonna throw it out there. I wanted to eat him up… just like my favorite white layered birthday cake. I truly saw no flaws in him. His determination, his protectiveness, his possessive streak and his unconditional love for Mercy made me want to go back for a second helping. I loved how gentle and sweet he was with her but I really became a drool monkey over him when he FINALLY turned into “Unleashed Miller”. That. Was. Hot. And to know that he was holding it back until she asked for it… *swoon*
The paintball scene, the Chinese doctor, the banter between the Spurlock brothers… even with the sensitive subject matter, there were plenty of fun moments in the story. And those chapter titles… I still love them to pieces and look forward to them in each and every Lani Lynn Vale book.
What happened with Foster… totally unexpected and just… W.O.W. He is definitely set up to have a great, drama-filled book, complete with a spitfire woman! And the possibility of revenge (maybe, just maybe somehow)… I LOVE it already! Bring on Charlie Foxtrot!!
OH MY GOD. I don’t even know where to start with this review. I have loved each one of these books. These are must read books! Lani Lynn Vale is on my must read list. You don’t have to read these in order, but I highly suggest that you do so that you’ll have the stories on the other characters.
Mercy Shepherd’s story starts out horribly in the first chapter. Being beat and raped while the news filmed. Luckily the swat guys were there. And Miller became her hero.
Mercy is far from a weak character. She had her moments, but who wouldn’t after going through what she did. Anyone that was watching t.v. that day saw what happened to her.
I love how she got Miller at the start. He actually surprised me.
Miller was not what I expected, and I loved it! He is an amazing man, that’s for sure.
“Having sex with you doesn’t disgust me. It makes me hot. It makes my palms burn to even think about them running over your silky, smooth skin. But I don’t think you’re ready. I don’t think you’ll be ready for a long time. I’ll wait for you. This, this is something good, and it has the potential to be something much more than just a friendship. I don’t want to taint that by moving too fast.”
Like I said, he’s amazing!
Just like in all the previous books, the quotes at the beginning of each chapter had me cracking up.
“The only ‘B’ word you should ever call a woman is beautiful. Why? Because bitches love to be called beautiful.”
“If it’s hot, wet, sticky, and not yours…don’t touch it.”
Now their story isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There are some scarey situations. And Foster, I really can’t wait for the next book, Charlie Foxtrot.
I love how Miller kept with the tradition of the names also.
This is a great read and a great series. I went to bed, fell asleep for about twenty minutes, but Miller woke me up and I just had to keep reading.
You must read these awesome books!
I can’t even put into words how much I love anything by Lani Lynn Vale. She can have me crying. No not crying, sobbing, one minute and laughing hysterically the next. She has a way of sucking you into this story, to where you are holding your breath and you realize your hand hurts from clenching your fist too tight.
Miller, what else is there to say LOL Miller.
I have waited for Miller’s story since Trance’s book when he and Foster were introduced. This story starts off super fast, there wasn’t any easing into it, it just jumped straight into the action. That’s where Miller comes in.
I really, really want to tell you everything, I want to just go BLAH and it all comes out, but I can’t!!! These are hot drama filled books, with an alpha that just makes you want to say yes to everything he says!
I loved Mercy! She was so strong, and didn’t even realize it! I totally agreed with how Mercy dealt with the issue at hand, she had a unique way of looking at it, and you can’t even fault her. Miller backs her up all the way, he has a couple of issues but he stands beside her and that made him perfect for her!
As usual it was absolutely lovely to “see” everyone again, and we even get to see Sam in action again. If you are looking for a read that makes you laugh, cry, gasp, sexy as hell alpha males, and well the sexy time is just plain hot, then you should really look into Lani Lynn Vale.
I would give this more than 5 but the powers that be only go to 5 stars.
LOVE!
Miller is 1/3 of what I have deemed the Hot Ass Spurlock Brothers. I love this series and love all three brothers. The SWAT series is where Lani hooked me for the first time.
You can never go wrong with any of Ms. Vale books.
