I love this series. The author continues to build the world in this second novel and gives lots of hints of what may be coming up next. Kate is a wonderful character for a world in chaos and I am looking forward to see what develops. The writing style is very reader friendly and I stayed up far past my bedtime for a few night because I wanted to see what happened next. The series is finished and I can read all the books without any long waiting periods for the next book to get published. I discovered this series at the right time and am looking forward to having many sleepless night.s as I read all the books.
You have got to read this series. I mean seriously put down what ever else you are reading and pick this book, and the entire series, up. You will absolutely be sucked in and not want to leave. I make it a policy to not re-read books there are too many new ones to read. However, I re-read this series every time a new book comes out. I love the characters, world, writing, plots, and pacing. There is not a single instance where I think it could be better.
Magic Burns was a fun ride! As much as I loved Magic Bites, Magic Burns was WAY better! We get a further glimpse into the secrets that make up the mysterious Kate Daniels. We also learn alot more regarding the Pack and the way things work for them. Dont assume that because you’ve read a werewolf book, you’ll already know it all. Ilona Andrews goes so much further in pack politics than any other book I’ve read.
My favorite thing about this series is even though you have this dark edgy story line, the books are RIDDLED with humorous scenes. I present my favorite moment from Magic Burns:
The vampire stared at me, his mouth slack as Ghastek assessed his options. I took a couple of forms from my desk, put them into the vamp’s mouth, and pulled them up by their edges.
“What are you doing?” Ghastek asked.
“My hole puncher broke.”
“You have no respect for the undead.”
I am afraid to say too much more on this one so we will move on to book #3. 5 stars for Magic Burns!!
I love love love this book ,it was totally awesome 🙂 it’s even better then the 1st book in the series 🙂
Kate is a cool chick ,I really liked getting to read more about her ,I love getting to see more of the world it’s so Wildly intense and imaginative , her relationship with Curran the Beast Lord intensifies and by the end of this book you’ll be dying to get your hands on the next book in the series .
Curran is even cooler in this book ,I love how he interacts with Kate ,it’s just so fun to read and it always has you on the edge of your seat waiting for something to happen between the 2 of them .
Derek seemed a bit like an add-on character in the first book, but has a bigger role in this one and his relationship with kate becomes solid .
This series is turning into one of my favs ,it’s got a solid storyline and amazing characters that you are just rooting for and a love story that is unfolding a little bit in every book , at the end it just leaves you wanting more 🙂 this series is a must read.
Same as its prequel, this book kept me turning pages!
It’s absolutely brilliant how realistic this urban fantasy series is. Heck, no one can deny you just love how Kate and Curran infuriate each other. I crack up often reading this series. I love the sarcasm, realism, and a unique spin on a romance!
i can still re-read this book and love every moment. ive read the entire series
Amazing series!
