Abby Tanner is content to live on her mountain creating her beautiful works of art and enjoying the peace and quiet. All of that changes when a strange golden space ship crash lands on it. Now, Abby has to deal with a golden ship, a tortured alien, and an insane local sheriff.
Zoran Reykill knew he had to find a safe place to heal after he escapes from a Curizan military post. When his … his symbiosis mothership takes him to an unknown planet he finds more than he expects — he finds his true mate. The only problems are Abby doesn’t understand a thing he says and the local sheriff wants her too. There is only one thing the King of Valdier can do, abduct his true mate.
Now Zoran has his hands full trying to keep his true mate safe in his own world while trying to help her accept her new life. He will need all the help he can get to help his stubborn human accept she can make a life in a place other than her mountain back on Earth. He just needs to keep her alive long enough to enjoy it and away from the other males on his planet who wouldn’t mind helping her accept her new sensual body.
One thing he knows he will never regret — abducting Abby.

Loved reading this book! So disappointed to reach the end that I immediately went on to the next in the Valdier series. Read at least 1of author’s books weekly. Afraid of running out!
S.E. Smith is one of the few authors I go to when I want to read a good book. Abducting Abby is one of them. A bit of insta-love (which I’m not a fan of) but since the book was a Syfy about a dragon shifter and a human female, I bought it.( I know nothing about dragon shifters. I wish I did 😉 )
Anywho, it has an interesting story. It flowed really well and I finsished it in no time cause I couldn’t put it down.
Why 4 stars and not 5? I don’t know to be honest. I put 5 at first but it felt wrong. Maybe it’s because I loved it but I didn’t fall in love with it to give it the whole marks (in this case, stars) and once I finished reading it, it didn’t take me long to open the next book (granded it was the second book of the series but still….) 😀
If this blurb appeals to you, do yourself a favour if you have never read a Ms Smith book, do so. You will not be disappointed.
Abby was just so nice and Zoran was a super hunky hot alien. The whole symbiot and dragon part was so fantastically different.
The action in this book plus all the characters we meet just made it a really enjoyable read. There is so much excitement going on with this story I cannot tell you about it without giving the story away.
The ending is great.
I just loved this book the first time I read it and feel the same about the rest of the series.
I have owned this book for ages and read this series over and over and never tire of them.
I have written this review as I now understand the importance of them to help authors work be acknowledged and apologise to Ms Smith for taking so long to do so.
I like a good mystery. Abducting Abby was a good mystery about dragon shifters. I kept trying to figure what was going to happen next. Some was formulaic but some kept me on the edge of my seat.
The whole series is cool ..

This is the first in the Dragons of Valdier series. While each is a stand alone, the story line and characters develop as the series progresses. Slightly steamy, Sci Fi romances with a wonder mythical setting where misunderstandings between aliens and their human mates before they finally achieve HEA make for fascinating reading. The companion books set on the nearby worlds of Sarafin and Curizan, are also excellent. If you love strong women pursued by sometimes clueless aliens, don’t miss Capturing Cara, Viper ‘s Defiant Mate and Choosing Riley. Riley is one of my all time favorite characters and Grandma Pearl is absolutely priceless!!
Talk about a world of imagination! Wow, he is not only a hunk of an alien but also a fire breathing dragon. I really enjoyed their time on Earth and on his home planet where they don’t understand the concept of singing, so cute. Recommended – you wont be disappointed!
