Picnic and London will keep you glued to this exciting MC romance. He is the president of the Reapers MC and was raising two daughters after the death of his wife. He is also captivated by his cleaning lady London. London has a lot of baggage of her own including the daughter of a cousin who is mother is strung out on drugs. When said daughter goes for a visit to her mother, the drama begins and London is caught up in the center of it. She has choices she will have to make that may be the death of her.
Reese “Picnic” Hayes has it all. He’s the president of the Reaper’s MC, he has 2 beautiful daughters, an amazing old lady that all bikers dream of, and a great band of brothers that he leads. Everything is great, that is until of course it’s not. Reese’s wife Heather gets sick with cancer and ends up leaving him to raise their daughters on his own. He’s so devastated he vows to never take another old lady every again. Of course he still has needs. To fill those needs he starts bringing home a different woman every night. Some nights those women warming his bed are even younger than his daughters. He’s content to continue living his life the same unattached way until London Armstrong, the local cleaning business owner, walks into his club businesses. He can’t seem to get her out of his mind. Will getting involved with her be what he needs to change his ways?
London Armstrong is a beautiful independent business owner who stopped putting herself first a long time ago. She’s raising her cousin’s daughter Jessica, and that is no easy task. While cleaning for the MC Reese sparks London’s interest. However she just doesn’t think getting involved with someone from a dangerous MC is a good idea. When Jessica gets into some trouble with the MC she looks to Reese to help get her cousin out of the situation. Him helping out ends up leading to a chain of events that over a weeks time frame goes from great with him and London to anything but that. Will they come out on the other side intact and unscathed? Will Reese finally make her see that she is important too and she shouldn’t put all her needs and wants on the back burner?
Yes I’m a Joanna Wylde fan girl. I’ve loved all of the previous books with the hot ass alpha males and the women they fall in love with. I’ve been intrigued with Picnic since book 1 and was so excited to finally get his story. I mean, what’s not to love? Hot, handsome, dirty alpha male who also has a deep sense of family values and loves his children above all else. I remember a line in one of the previous books where Picnic said he would give up all of the women just to have one more day with his wife. So I overlooked his whorish ways and screwing young girls because I just knew he would eventually get his HEA with a good woman. But, alas, IMO London just wasn’t the woman for Pic. London was zany, spaced out at times, made horrible decisions…sound familiar? Yes that how London’s niece was described because she had serious birth defects from a druggie momma. In short, London acted a little like the Rock Chicks acting crazy and having flights of fancy while being shot at, facing death, etc. I wanted Picnic to have a good woman close to his age who had the demeanor of the other old ladies in the club. I have read and re-read Horse/Marie, Ruger/Sophie and Hunter/Em more than once and the romance always gets to me. Em, for all of her youth, was a much more solid character than London. Like I said, I’m left with a feeling that Picnic wasn’t paired up with the right woman.
With all of that said, this book was still much better than most of the biker/MC romances coming out today and yes I’ll most likely read the book again sometime but out of the four books in the series, this one would be #4 in my like category
Another great audio. Loved the narrators.
I have loved Picnic ever since the beginning of the series and knew it would take a very special woman to get him to stop being such a player. Picnic is older than the bikers we have been reading about. Doesn’t matter though because he is super sexy as all get out.
London had a lot on her plate. I truly felt sorry for her. You could tell she had a good heart. Not to many people would take on the responsibly the takes on. Not only to her blood but to Mel which was her nieces friend as well.
There is a lot of hot scene in this book. The only things I did not like in this book was how it started in the future. That made me feel a little lost starting out and one of the couples in the MC which were together in the previous book were separated in this book. Made me feel like there was a huge gap somewhere.
All in All I loved the book and look forward to the next book in the series.
Freaking awesome! OMG! My heart about stopped with this book. Storyline was well written, entertaining, suspenseful and smokin hot. Picnic is a sexy badass biker president who sets his sights on London the club cleaning lady. London is independent and responsible but feels the raw attraction and pull towards Picnic despite not wanting to. Picnic seems to in his own way romance and woo London which was a little funny for such a die-hard alpha male. Certain decisions London makes has me setting on the edge of my seat and gave me OMG moments. Don’t want to give anything away but definitely a must read. Would recommend.
This book was London wanting to save her cousin’s daughter from herself. London had to do thing she did not want to that had to so she can save her cousin’s daughter. Reese “Picnic” Hayes wanted London but he was not sure he could. Picnic and London was good together. Time to buy this book and it would be worth it.
I can’t wait for more!! I read this book quickly, in less than 24 hours. I seriously couldn’t put it down! The bonus Epilogue, I don’t even know what to do with that! I need more! Who was it?!?! On to starting the next book 🙂
This one was my favorite out of the series, I loved Picnic, “do you need help, London?” he asked. “You work for us now. If there’s a problem, you should tell me. Even if there isn’t, I should know if you’ve got something big going on. Everything that touches the club is my business.” Picnic is one of those men who aren’t shy and he doesn’t mind voicing his opinion, “don’t be shy,” he said. “Wet and naked’s a good look on you. Gotta say, between this and the food you’ve turned my day right around.” I loved the playful side of him, “we’re going to eff. Then I think we’ll probably do it again. After that I’ll buy you dinner, but only if you’re nice.” I’m hoping there’s more coming of this series, because I’m really going to be sad if this was the last book.
This is the first MC book that I have ever read &, loved it. This book is why I love a good MC books. Just like Kristen Ashley MC books.
It always feels good to finally get your hands on a book character that you’ve been waiting on what feels like forever. From beginning to end I just devoured. I do have to say I am glad that we got a pretty good look at Picnic’s married life in Devil’s Game so that time was saved in having to do a lot of back story but for those that haven’t read the previous books I recommend doing so cause lots of info and history is given on characters in previous books that continue through the series.
There was just so much I loved about this book not just Reese(Picnic) and London’s story but Painter – no spoilers but holy moly in want his story now. With every book you wonder how can the next one be any better than this but it always is and the sneak peeks we got of future books and the set up for the new series about the Silver Bastards series – I know many more fantastic books are on the way.
Another home run for Wylde and the Reapers MC series.
I’ve been waiting for Picnic’s story and it was well worth the wait.
Reapers Stand hooked me from page one and didn’t let me go, Picnic’s story could be my new favorite.
We catch up with some of our old favorites, who doesn’t love Horse? As well as meet a few newbies I would love to see a story about.
Another must read from Joanna Wylde that takes you on one helluva ride with our favorite MC.
I cannot put into words what this one did to me.
