This series has just gotten better and better, so suffice to say, this is the best one yet!! Ty and Zane really get to explore their relationship while undercover as a married couple, and it is hot. And also sweet and just gah, love them! Ty makes a much awaited declaration, while Zane makes one of his own…they end the book in a great place back to “normal,” and they are just content for the time being. Of course it was exciting with the mystery to solve what was happening aboard the cruise ship, and that just added to this wonderful book!
You’d think I wouldn’t be surprised at the craziness that seems to swirl around Zane and Ty, but this one did startle me. I think it was because the ‘everyone’s shooting at them run for their lives’ stuff and the ‘feel my way’ romance that they have going on was conducted in a lighter setting with the survival intensity issue toned down a bit. I’m not saying that’s bad; just different.
This time the newly partnered and ready for field assignment team of Garrett and Grady are given a shocking assignment that’s secretly right up their alley. They are being sent to impersonate a male married couple who are part of a smuggling business. The three members of the business will meet for the first time on a Christmas cruise to the Caribbean.
While the guys enjoy the pleasures of the ship and learn what it is like to be an openly gay couple, things start to go wrong quick as multiple dangerous ‘accidents’ start to happen. It appears that more than one party wants the two guys stopped and they’re not even sure what they blundered into. Will they figure it out before its too late?
This story’s plot was stronger on the relationship emphasis than the last two. It was a serious of baby steps as the two guys really got the opportunity to learn more about each other and themselves. I say that to let everyone know to expect that the pace is much more relaxed and the snarkiness is toned down almost to nothing. Not to say there is no ‘murder and mayhem’ stuff because its there too, but its not of equal status in the story.
So it was a nice installment in the series leaving me eager for the next book.
This series just keeps getting better and better! It’s hard to make a cruise vacation interesting but this was fantastic. Ty and Zane transform into a married couple and the case of simple gathering information gets way out hand.
After settling into new office and new partnership both Ty and Zane become restless. New undercover case is just what they need. But as always what should have been a simple task turns into dangerous game of trying not to be killed and keeping their covers intact. In close quarters lines blur when playing a role turns into real feelings. Things are not what they seem, people are not who they should be and no help is coming.
I loved Ty here especially. Even with all his sarcasm and stubbornness he gives Zane another chance, he tries to understand and makes Zane believe in himself. Zane seems to lose his self-confidence but Ty is there to pick him up. They have both tender and passionate moments, angry outbursts and times of doubt even in each other but when the push comes to shove they have each other’s back.
I loved the humor, the adventures they had and how they could simply enjoy each other without fear of discovery. I had so much fun reading this. Throughout the book little snippets of information showed different sides of both Zane and Ty’s personalities. The book was fast-paced, suspenseful and heart-felt. Loved it! I highly recommend it!
