ALEX LOVELL MAKES PEOPLE DISAPPEAR. TURNS OUT, SHE’S NOT THE ONLY ONE. Private investigator Alexandra Lovell uses computer skills and cunning to help clients drop off the radar and begin new lives in safety. Melanie Bess, desperate to escape her abusive cop husband, was one of those clients. But when Melanie vanishes for real, Alex fears the worst, and sets out to discover what happened. Using … discover what happened. Using every resource she can get her hands on — including an elite team of forensic scientists known as the Tracers, and a jaded, sexy Austin PD detective — Alex embarks on a mission to uncover the truth.
As far as homicide cop Nathan Deveraux is concerned, no body means no case. But as much as he wants to believe that Alex’s hunch about Melanie’s murder is wrong, his instincts — and their visceral attraction — won’t let him walk away. As a grim picture of what really happened begins to emerge, Nathan realizes this investigation runs deeper than they could ever have guessed. And each step nearer the truth puts Alex in danger of being the next to disappear….more
I liked it, but not sure if I want to commit to the series. Good action, good chemistry but just not bowled over by it….it was too easy for me to get distracted from it and put it down for awhile.
I’m a big fan of Laura Griffin’s romantic suspense and particularly her Tracers series. This is the book that began the series and, as usual, it’s great.
In Untraceable, private investigator Alex specializes in helping victims of domestic violence hide. Then one of her clients goes missing, and Alex suspects the woman’s abusive ex–who’s unfortunately also a cop. She asks homicide detective Nathan to help, and together they try to find out what happened…and what the woman’s disappearance may have to do with some unsolved murders, bad cops, and a drug ring.
Griffin always has a great mix of romance and suspense, especially for those of us who want the nitty-gritty forensic details. But she doesn’t skimp on the love story, and the chemistry here between bold P.I. Alex and skeptical detective Nathan burns pretty hot. Their back-and-forth banter was filled with tension, and as the pages turned, their emotions ran deeper.
A must-read series for fans of romantic suspense!
4 Stars. Really enjoying this series.
Untraceable by Laura Griffin was a fast paced read centering on character Alex Lovell a PI who has a background in computers and making people disappear. Alex has helped Melanie Bess escape her abusive husband, but now things aren’t adding up when Melanie goes missing and is feared dead. Alex tries to get the help of Austin police detective, Nathan Deveraux and a forensic scientist group known as Tracers, but as more of the case unfolds, the more complicated it gets, especially when Alex’s lead suspect is a police officer.
This story had a lot going on in it, not only are we following Alex’s story as well as her relationship past and present with Nathan, but also a few other characters. There are also a lot of twist and turns as we try and figure out what has happened to Melanie and her role in what is going on. Alex is like a dog with a bone, she doesn’t let things go and often puts herself in danger, much to Nathan’s frustration.
As a first book, there were a lot of characters to get to know and I’m hoping when reading more of this series that we find out a bit more about them as well as a bit more about Alex’s background as we only got snippets of it throughout the story. Overall, the story was well written with a lot of suspense, drama and some romance. It is going to be fin reading what else is going to happen to Alex and Nathan. A really enjoyable read!

Wow. Just wow. Action, suspense, steamy love scenes and a happy ever after what more could you possibly want!? Love reading the Delphi lab scenes the most, I learn science in a way I can understand.
Awesome book
I have wanted to read this one for quite a while and once I found I could get it in audio I was overjoyed and listened to it in one evening! Alex is a private detective who specializes in helping people disappear. She has a soft spot for those who are considered “lost causes” and one of her causes has turned up missing and presumed dead. Now she is on the hunt for her and/or her killer who she presumes is her husband. She turns to Nathan, an Austin PO but he doesn’t believe her at first, however, there is definite chemistry with them. There is a slow burn with them and a lot of twists and turns and an underlying suspense. We are also introduced to the Delphi Org. which is prominent in future books (yes, I have read many of those) and just wait they are so good. This was a good intro to this series and hang on, it only gets better from here.
Excellent romantic suspense novel!
I have read all of the tracers, and loved every minute
Loved Alex and Nathan
