Some things never go away, like vile enemies, bad ale, and annoying kin. But I thought I was finished with the one dragon I’d have done anything for: Éibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue-haired beast who thinks the world belongs to him. The world and, apparently, me. So if Éibhear wants to play the caring hero and travel into the most forsaken of Gods forsaken lands to protect the one woman … one woman who doesn’t need it–namely me–I’ll let him. Because while I’m trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, I’m going to draw this overconfident warlord much too close, rekindle his fires, and enjoy every minute of his delicious defeat. . .

It’s been over 10 years since the events in the previous book, The Dragon Who Loved Me, has occurred. Izzy the Dangerous is a general in Queen Annwyl’s army and fighting Ogres currently. Éibhear the Contemptible is now part of the Mì-runach and is no longer the nice boy everyone said he was. Together these two travel into the desert to find two enemies and along the way finally admit their feelings.
I have been waiting for this book since Izzy was introduced and it did not disappoint. I really love these two. They have been destined since day one but they needed the time apart to mature and get away from the teenage hormones. I love how deadly they both are but at the same time not constantly looking for war. They enjoy the peace times too. Éibhear has really grown into his body and no longer tries to be the peacemaker. He also can really do some damage to his brothers now. I am glad that he still loves his books, and tea now. Izzy is still a troublemaker and a deadly warrior. She is quite amusing and just like her mother.
I can’t wait to see what will happen with the kids now that they are away from the Dark Plains. I also wonder what is going to happen with the new refugees.
The title is well chosen. This is the second-chance romance to end all second-chance romances as an overly-self-absorbed male tries again to court the female he left behind and she refuses to make it easy for him. But then what do you expect from someone called Izzy the Dangerous? Éibhear has his work cut out for him because General Izzy has no intention of letting him take over her life, not when she has ogres, wars and pushy gods to deal with. The things Izzy drags Éibhear through – ridiculously hilarious and so deserved!
Eibhear the Blue takes each battle as they come as one of the Mi-runach, when his leader demands he returns home to visit his kin this is not the next battle he expected. Despite not wanting to, Eibhear heads out with his troupe to head home but is sidelined when he is told to pick up Izzy. Izzy the girl who he has a slight history with, the girl he apologized too and got no response in return.
Izzy the dangerous has no time for Eibhear and he can leave her be to her quest or she can slay him, tough decision. However, both are failing to admit that there might be something more to their less than harmonious reunion.
I had been looking forward to this one but I felt it was a bit muddled with all the other characters and their side stories. I think out of all the books this had the biggest buildup in former stories. I did enjoy Briec particularly and his interactions. I will say kindle version there really is not line breaks when it goes into another part of the story so it was a bit confusing at times to track that it had moved to something else.
I waited and waited for this story! I saw it coming from a mile away, but I couldn’t be happier to FINALLY have these two wake up and smell the roses! Eibhear is different than he was in the beginning, but not bad, just different. Izzy is different too. When we finally throw them back together it’s electricity for sure. Added to this long awaited coupling, we’ve got the drama that follows this dragon family around. We’ve got gods tampering in their lives, witches thinking they rule all, long lost family comes into play, and of course war. I was enthralled all the way through. Now I am bummed, as I have to WAIT for the publication of book 7 in this fantastic series.
Finally it’s Izzy and Èibhears story. 10 years has gone by since they’ve seen each other and they’ve both become a force to be reckoned with. All grown up and on a mission to help Izzys sister Rihanwen controls her growing powers, they must work together.
This story is as combustible as Izzy and Èibhears connection. I absolutely loved it.
I also recommend all the rest of the authors series. G.A. Aiken/Shelly Laurenston
