WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS. BUT WHAT DIDN’T HAPPEN IN VEGAS SEEMS TO FOLLOW THEM EVERYWHERE–Book Three in the sexy, fun New York Times bestselling Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times Book of the Year) and Dirty Rowdy Thing. Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense not to consummate their drunken Las Vegas marriage. If … to consummate their drunken Las Vegas marriage. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.
…Or so goes the official line.
In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one–and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?
Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now…and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim–and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture–Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.
Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life…more
Sometimes other books in a series lose their steam, but this book is just as good as the first one. Loved it!
This contemporary romance is just as funny as it is sexy. I adored the main characters and their unconventional meet-cute, and the heroine’s job as a graphic novelist lent a quirky element to her point of view. Sidenote: Dark Wild Night is part of a series, but it stands alone.
This is such a fantastic series ,i love everything about these books 🙂 they make you laugh and smile and i didn’t want to put it down !
I love Oliver 🙂 he’s such a cool guy ,he’s always there for his friends and he’s really easy going ,i so see why Lola fell for him ,i get why Oliver waited so long to finally fess up to his feelings for Lola, she tends to run scared whenever there is a possibility that someone might leave her and in the back of her mind she thinks that maybe a small part of her is like her mother who left her and her father ,but she finally works though all that with Oliver’s helps ,i loved their whole story .
Lola is cool ,i can really relate to her but at times i wanted to slap her ,the way she was pushing Oliver away ,you could tell it really hurt him ,no one wants to come 2nd and be pushed aside,to feel like they aren’t importing but Lola did that to Oliver & i was like yelling noooo come on Lola think about what you are doing ! but in the end she sees what she did and she is able to fix it and learn how to Balance both work and a new relationship 🙂
OMG I LOVE THEIR BOOKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve read all the other books from the Wild Seasons series, but for some reason had not gotten around to Dark Wild Night. I have loved Oliver and Lola also known as Loliver since the beginning of the series and I am so happy that I read their book.
Lola and Oliver have been connected since book 1 in the series when they married each other in Vegas (read book 1 for the whole story), but had the marriage annulled because they realized what they had done after the alcohol wore off. And since then they remained friends. But underneath the friendship they have had feelings for one another and they both finally realize that they want more from one another than just a platonic friendship.
Dark Wild Night was such a wonderful friends-to-lovers romance. Unlike newer Christina Lauren books this book had a lot of steamy scenes, but I feel like the intimacy added to the story. I loved the fact that Lola was a comic book creator and Oliver had a comic store! They were so cute together.
Christina Lauren’s writing is always so beautiful and Dark Wild Night was no exception. I loved the other facets in this book that made it so lovely. The relationship that Lola has with his dad, Not-Joe’s relationship with Oliver and of course seeing the group again!
Although the books in the series can be read as a standalone, I do advise reading the books in order to get the complete friendship of Lola and Oliver before it becomes a romance in Dark Wild Night.
I loved these two, although they did frustrate me…a lot!

4.5 Stars!
I think I’m in the minority here, but I kind of like the Wild Seasons Series more than the BB Series. This group of friends and their connections are so much more palpable. Overall, I’ve enjoyed both series and they’re all consistently swoony. So swoony. Although, I think Oliver just became my favorite book hero in the series. So, there’s that.
This was a really quick (started it late Sunday night, finished it before dinner Monday) and really enjoyable read (again, I read it really quickly, that doesn’t happen if I’m not enjoying a book).
I liked that Lola and Oliver took the slow and steady route to love and that at the end their HEA wasn’t necessarily marriage. Lola and Oliver were great together and the sexual tension had my heart pounding from the beginning, but Oliver’s reaction to Lola’s request for time away from the relationship upset me. I completely sympathised with Lola’s feeling of being overwhelmed by the sudden change from best friends to lovers and how that made her feel suffocated and like she had to choose one dream over another. I thought Oliver should have been more understanding and was really disappointed that he wasn’t. They may have only known each other for eight months but it seemed to me that they were closer to each other than either were with anyone else in their lives. If anyone was going to understand the way her brain works, you would think it would be Oliver, but all he seemed to think about was that she was abandoning him. I just wanted Oliver to be better (possibly an unreasonable wish, but he had been pretty much perfect up until this point so my expectations were high), to be able to understand what Lola needed and give it unselfishly without taking it as a personal attack on him.
I will definitely be on the look out for more in this series and anything else from Christina Lauren.
I am only recommending this book b/c it is part of the series. If I start one I have to read the entire series and read them in order(I’m a little annel that way). Of the 4 books this was my least favorite. That being said this was great series……….I really enjoy reading Christina Lauren books!
