I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable as well as a little taboo. The characters were interesting and likable. Marky irritated me quite a bit at first but later I understood that he just wasn’t sure how to admit to himself, let alone everyone else, the truth. Cora was way more understanding and kind about the situation than I think that I would be. The way that she willingly went away to come to terms with it showed great maturity. Matt was a wonderful father but also a great man. He did pull some sneakiness but in the end, it worked out well. The two of them together were like a spark catching and exploding into fire. Cora and Matt seemed to have lots in common. There are a lot of feels in this story. Cora and Matt have an amazingly awesome happy ever after that made me smile and I think that you will too. I recommend reading this book.
Cora is engaged to Marky but on the night of their engagement party he is late which worries her. His dad spends some time with her which is fine by her because she likes him probably more than she should. However when Marky arrives he won’t take a minute with her to talk so she corners him after the party to talk and it ends with them breaking up. Both of them are broken up over it for very different reasons. Cora’s mother suggests she go to the family’s cabin to take some time for herself. Matt uses the excuse of the heirloom engagement ring as a way to go see Cora. When he gets there it just in time to save her from a small fire. Not long after he gets there sparks fly between them and they give into each other but Matt is afraid of what others will think and won’t think of continuing things with her. Can Cora move on from her time with Matt? Will Matt see that they are perfect together?
This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
The first book by this author and I will definitely will read more stories from her
This is a good read but I just felt that it just finished too quick or too rushed. I enjoyed the the story but I was waiting for more and then it was just done. So just that if not I probably would have given it a four stars.
3.5 stars for My Fiancé’s Dad by S.E. Law. This is my first book from this author, and I have to say it was a sexy read. This is a taboo read for a couple reasons. The taboo part is what makes this book so good for me personally. Not only is Matt a lot older than Coral, but he is also her ex- fiancé’s dad. Yummy right? This book was a quick and dirty read. It was filled with all the parts we all love in a taboo romance. I can not wait to read more from this author.
Cora and Matt finally acknowledge their hots for each other. Although they get a steamy week together, I think it took too long to get there. This is a taboo story. It’s a good read but toned down, in my opinion. The only 2 salacious things about it are the fingering scene and its title. I’ve read better by S.E. Law. I hope she starts to write with more depth.
Cora and Markey are on their way to their engagement party that, Matt, Markey’s dad was throwing at this swanky restaurant. The two of them were to meet there. She knew he would be a few minutes late due to the hours he was having to put in at his dad’s architectural firm. But when he was pushing thirty minutes late and she is having trouble reaching him, she knows somethings up.
When he arrives he is disheveled, looking uncomfortable as well as searching the room for someone or is he indifferent? She can’t figure it out. Matt and her keep gravitating toward one another because they both know something is off. At the end of the dinner and everyone has gone she and Markey have it out. Before you know it the engagement it off.
To allow herself to grieve her mom sends her to the family cabin. Her first night there she nearly causes her own death. But luckily Matt shows up and saves the night. No, he just didn’t drive by. He went there to get the heirloom ring his son had given her Plus, he needed to see her. She was his secret fantasy and little did he know he was her’s.
Very cute and tender moments. An enlightened storyline of life choices.
Cute, Sexy Story
Drama, taboo (love), hope, love (no matter who), and HEA. It’s a cute, short love story. Easy to read in one setting. Enjoy! On to the next! #HappyReading
I was totally taken by this story. It was definitely steamy but not as steamy as some of the previous S.E. Law stories. This book contained a great little taboo romance that I was drawn to from almost the very beginning. I loved the ending too! If you enjoy romances that involve a taboo relationship, I would recommend this read. I received this story for free from the author as part of her ARC team and am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
So much more than what I expected! I was pleasantly surprised at how deep and emotional this book was. Okay, so from the title and the blurb, I thought this was going to be some salacious and deviant story, and I was prepared for the worst. It started off sweet with Cora and Hadley, who are really hard not to like, and then there’s Matt, who is the fiance’s dad, and he was pretty perfect too. The side characters helped to build a sweet cast that made the story seem like it could be happening in Anytown, right now. I was not a fan of Markey, lol, his name alone was a turn-off, but seeing as how Cora was hooked on him, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. The story built this emotional tension, you could feel a wave of something heart wrenching is coming, but the momentum had me turning pages and reading it right through to the end. I couldn’t put it down! By the time the plot point turns us and the story switches to Cora and how she deals with things, I was ready for Matt to make his move, and it was spectacular! I think the buildup to the title was perfect, and I loved this story. I highly recommend this story!
Great story. She is engaged and going to the rehearsal dinner. But her fiance doesn’t show up until way late. His dad is there and she knows she shouldn’t be but is really attracted to him. She finds out the secret her fiance has been keeping from her. He is gay and can’t marry her. His dad and her get together and things work out for them after everything is ironed out. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Only SE Law can make a taboo story so right! Cora is getting engaged to Marky, but on the night of their engagement party something goes terribly wrong. She goes and lick her wounds at the family cottage until she is saved by Matt, Marky’s father. From that moment on, their journey will take through all the struggles unimaginable to have an HEA or not? Great characters and storyline.
