Jackson WynnI don’t want anything to do with my crazy family’s drama, which I’ve been watching unfold from a distance over the last year, but now my grandfather has Alzheimer’s and I feel I need to at least make a quick visit to see him. My hockey season’s over, all I have to do is get through my teammate Steve’s wedding, and then I’m on a plane to Los Angeles to do my family duty. After that, … I’ll head home to Manitoba for some summer R&R at the family lake cottage.
Molly Flynn
Nobody’s expecting what happens at my wedding, which becomes pandemonium. I need to get out of there. Fast. Who do I turn to? Jackson Wynn, one my fiancé’s teammates. He’s been a friend to me since I met Steve. For one night, we hide out in his condo, but he’s leaving in the morning for California. I want to go with him.
Jackson
I can’t take Steve’s fiancée with me to California. He’s going to flip shit over this. But the lying cheating bastard kind of deserves it, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Molly. Or maybe not so soft…because she’s not only sweet and kind, she’s hot as hell. This is a bad idea for so many reasons, and I sure as hell don’t need more drama in my life, but I can’t say no to her.
On this nutso trip, neither of us expect Molly to bond with my bonkers family…especially my poor, confused grandpa. And neither of us expect to bond with each other…

Really good! One of my favorites of this series together with the first book. I liked that Molly has a career as a teacher (great choice for profession!), and that Jax accepts his mistakes easily and is willing to work on them ASAP. They are a great couple! I started the book not liking the plot but I was wrong, it was really good and it got inside of the family drama nicely. I will be waiting also for Tori and Marks book!
Game Changer is the fifth book of Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series. I cannot believe it is already the fifth book but no worries there are still quite a bit kids and grandkids to cover This book presents you a run-away bride and a run-away (kind of) Wynn.
Jackson, aka Jax, Wynn plays hockey for Chicago Aces. Jax is smart, funny, kind, generous, and reserved. He is also a trivia junkie. He is the only one who lives across the country. Since getting the news about grandfather’s Alzheimer’s and all the things that have been going on in the family, he wants to visit California and spend time with family during his summer break. He only has one stop to make before flying to California, his teammate Steve’s wedding. What a wedding that is. He has no idea that the wedding will become a new adventure for him. Molly Flynn is a 3rd-grade teacher, who is about to become a hockey wife. She is smart, caring, compassionate, and understanding. The night before her wedding, she receives explicit text messages showing her fiancé’s unfaithfulness. So, as payback, she leaves him at the altar but while planning the payback she forgot to make a getaway plan. But no worries there. One thing leads to another and her savior with a shining armor becomes her trivia partner Jax. She also didn’t think about what will happen after her runaway-bride act, the fans, the media… She is desperate to leave Chicago for a while and desperate times bring desperate measures, so she begs Jax, who is also ex-cheater’s teammate, to take her to California with him. Jax knew it wasn’t a good idea to take Molly to California with him but thinking using her as a buffer might help him with his family, he agrees. Their short trip to California turns out to be a summer-long adventure for both of them. I loved how Molly encouraged Jax to face his emotional baggage and his family. She was always there to support and listen to him. It was great to watch their friendship to bloom something more.
Game Changer was sweet, sexy, heartwarming, and so much more. It was the beginning and then the end, I have no idea how the time flew while reading. I wish it was a bit longer but then again, I am sure that wouldn’t be enough as well. If you are looking for a new series to start, I recommend you start reading the Wynn Hockey series.

*I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.* Wow, such an amazing book & series!! I love this book, the main characters Jackson “Jax” Wynn & Molly Flynn, & all the secondary characters. Jax attends a team mates wedding when the bride, Molly calls off the wedding once she finds out she’s been cheated on. Jax is also friends with her & ends up taking her with him to CA to see his family so she can escape the public eye. He helps her gain confidence back in herself & she helps him heal the rift he has with his family. The family is still trying to deal with Bob Wynn’s Alzheimer’s which is so sad but it helped bring them all back together, forcing them all to confront their issues. This book is funny, entertaining, heartwarming, heartbreaking & emotional. I can’t stress enough how great this series is, I’m so looking forward to reading the next book!! Thanks again Netgalley for the arc!!
About to marry the man she thought she loved, Molly Flynn left her cheating fiance at the altar and escaped with his teammate, who happens to be her friend and trivia partner. Jax Wynne knows letting Molly tag along with him to California over the summer break is a bad idea, but he can’t say no.
As their casual friendship starts to grow quickly into something more, their attraction heats up as well. And, when they agree to a limited time fling, they both think they can walk away unscathed at the end of the summer . . . but they were wrong.
I adored this couple. I loved that they were friends first and had a bond over trivia nights before anything more happened. The progression of their relationship felt easy and organic and it was so clear how good they were for one another. Molly helps Jax acknowledge his feelings and deal with his family issues and Jax helps Molly feel worthy again after being cheated on. And, the rockiness they faced in their relationship just had them appreciating each other even more.
Game Changer also tied up a lot of loose threads dealing with the Wynne family drama and was a really fab read for fans of the series. 5 stars!
It’s Jackson Wynn’s turn to have his story told! I enjoyed this one so much. Molly finds herself in need of a getaway….from her own wedding day and Jackson finds himself with a vacation mate. I loved that Molly and Jackson were strictly friends while she was engaged to Steve. I love this crazy family and can’t wait for the next book.
It’s a challenge to read hearts. Yet, Jamieson continues to accept that challenge by proving herself quite adept at doing so. Game Changer brings back one of my favorite families. The Wynns are always welcome on my bookshelves. From their grace of character to their strength of heart, they don’t hesitate to make an impression. However, it’s the least seen amplified flaws in their character that continue to draw me. Foolish pride, huge ego and fear of vulnerability are a constant when dealing with a Wynn. Molly and Jackson are the lastest in a long line of unlikely matches. They shouldn’t work, but you so what them to. Unpredictable is a beautiful thing when you are getting to know your heart.
Okay, first I must mention that as far as beginnings go in a book, this Wynn book is a #win!! (I can never write Wynn for the #win enough lolol) Second, I have so much love for not only Jackson and Molly but the storyline as well that I am ridiculously bursting! My heart is so darn full you guys! There’s more to Game Changer than just a romance journey between Molly and Jax. There’s the Wynn family as well. I know I’ve said this before, but I mean it this time lol, THIS is the best Wynn of them all!!!
Jackson and Molly are two of my favorite people right now. They were so good for each other. It wasn’t a one way thing. Molly had a lot to adjust to, obviously, but so did Jackson. They both had struggles outside of navigating a romance together and they were each other’s perfect ally. This was spectacularly swoony. ALL OF IT. From their romantic times to their sexy times to their building friendship to just all of it. I smiled a lot while I read this story and I also had a couple tears. Not because the story itself was s ad, quite the opposite, it was just overwhelming at times between the family dynamics and the team dynamics all being so positive. It’s one of the best *happy sigh* I have experienced in a while!
READ THIS BOOK. READ THIS FAMILY. Seriously.
The perfect summer read for the summer when we can’t travel—three exciting settings. And lots of Kelly Jamieson’s trademark heat!
I love this series about the crazy, dysfunctional Wynn family and how each of the younger generation, aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings are all finding their mates. The characters are all skillful developed with distinct personalities. There is lots of lively banter with vivid descriptions of the settings. And each book in the series, begins with a Family Tree to help keep the relationships of this big wacky family straight.
This book is about Jax, the only one of the family who doesn’t live on the west coast, but plays for the Chicago Aces, and appeared in that series. Because of the feud that has been going on between his grandfather, father and uncle, and the divorce of his parents, he has stayed away from “that side of his family” except for when they have met up when playing against each other. But now that he has heard about his grandfather’s condition, Alzheimer’s, he is going to make a surprise visit- after the wedding of his teammate Steve Shevchuk and his “trivia” buddy , Molly Flynn. However, the wedding does not go as planned, when Molly reads out loud, instead of her vows, the text that she had received the night about Steve’s infidelity. When Jax comes in to check on her, she asks him to get her out, and then decides to accompany him to California.
Because of his parent’s divorce and the belief that his father had been unfaithful and convinced that he would follow in those footsteps, Jax is never going to have a relationship of get married. Despite his mother being a successful and famous psychologist, he refuses to talk about his feelings which has cost him to not having a relationship with his father or grandfather because of long held false beliefs. So now neither Jax or Molly is interested in a relationship, but they have fun together. Molly is beautiful, smart and sassy and a wonderful companion and listener. She encourages him to pursue those familial relationships and soon they have become friends with benefits- but only until they return to Chicago at the end of the summer. Sure, except for really shallow people, that never works. They have to go through the pain of separation and soul searching to get their HEA.
The moral of the book: Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes not getting what you want can be a good thing. I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
After leaving her fiance on the alter Molly just wants to go away and she has the luck to have a great friend Jax who helps her getaway. So they end up spending the whole summer together, knowing better on a deeper level and also in a biblical way. What will, happen when summer is over? Molly thinks Jax is just a rebound but is he? And Jax is not so great at expressing his feelings. A sports romance with an ok storyline, I love the most how Jax win Molly over.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Another great installment in the Wynn Hockey Series! Molly & Jax are perfect together! It was nice to explore Jax’s character as he didn’t figure prominently in the earlier books. And great also to understand a little more why he didn’t get involved in the family dynamics. This is a really wonderful HEA love story -especially if you’re a hockey lover! So looking forward to the next one! Wonder who it will be? Kinda hoping for a rekindled love story;)
I loved this book! The romance is perfectly paced. The hero is the exact right amount of alpha. The heroine is a sweetheart. And the setting was familiar and lovely.
So poor Molly Flynn’s wedding to NHL player Steve ends up being mortifying when the rat bastard is caught cheating on her.. She needs to get out of there and luckily for her Jackson whom is a friends of her and team mate to cheating rat bastard helps her get out. Jackson family is cray cray and so dysfunctional, we have father who cheated on mom, granddad marries much younger woman, their fights and arguments all over. Now Jackson helps Molly leave but they are just friends, Steve is still his teammate but a cheating scumbag. Will he go there, someone who would be deemed off limits, but Steve was the wrong one, and Jackson is realizing that there was a mutual attraction, could they have more? Grab a copy!
rcvd an ARC at no cost…(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Molly and Jackson were such fun and amazing characters and even though they were just friends the chemistry between them was still so strong.
I couldn’t believe how Molly handled finding out about her fiance’s cheating. She is so strong and such a great character. Turing to Jackson in order to get away she was finally able to really take a moment to process everything that had happened.
Jackson was not expecting to end up with company on his visit back to California to see his family. But, when Molly needs to get out of town for a little while he figures helping her out won’t be a problem.
The problem is that Molly is his teammates ex which means she should be off limits, but suddenly Jackson is starting to see her in a different light. Plus, Molly is forcing him to take down walls and face things from his past.
Get ready to be taken on a ride! This book had me hooked from the very second I started reading and dying to know how things were going to work out! The writing, story line and characters are all amazing. This is a must read book for sure!

Game Changer was the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. Game Changer could be read as a stand-alone if necessary; however, I still recommend reading the series in order.
Jax Wynn was an NHL Right Winger for the Chicago Aces. He was also a member of the legendary hockey Wynn family. We met the family previously in all books, but this was the first time we met Jax. He was a skilled hockey player, gorgeous, fun and intelligent. After his parents divorce, he stayed as far away from relationships as he could get. No marriage or children for his future.
Molly Flynn. Molly was engaged to one of Jax’s NHL teammates, until she found out he cheated. She was devastated and looking for a place to hide for the summer to heal.
The plot started the night before the previous book ended. No spoilers so no specifics, but it was hysterical. We knew Molly had a cheating fiancé from the book description, but we didn’t know the details. Jamieson was quite creative and humorous. Jamieson then took us through the friendship between Jax and Molly and how it developed into more while simultaneously walking through the Wynn family challenges, Hockey contract negotiations and life lessons. Again, no spoilers so no elaboration, but true to Jamieson’s style, the storyline had depth, dimension and complexity.
All in all, it was entertaining and educational. There are still quite a few Wynn’s left so I’m not sure where Jamieson will take us next. At some point, it looks like Jax’s mom and dad may get a second chance, until then I can’t wait to see where Jamieson takes us next.
5 Star Review of For Game Changer (Wynn Hockey #5) by Kelly Jamieson
Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey and is Jackson (Jax) Wynn and Molly Flynn’s story. I enjoy Kelly Jamieson’s style of writing, her characters are strong and yet she shows that they can be human and not the “perfect” hero or heroine and this makes for a realistic and enjoyable read.
Where do I start? What do you do when you find out right before your wedding that your fiancee is cheating? That is the predicament that Molly finds herself in and when she turns to her fiancee’s team mate and her friend Jax for help, he really has no choice but to help her.
Jax does whatever he can to avoid the craziness that is is family and the last thing he should be contemplating is taking Molly with him to visit his family, however that is just what happens. The family dynamics of the Wynn family is convoluted, however you know that they love one another and will protect and have one another’s back at all times.
The chemistry between Jax and Molly sizzles and as the intensity grows you could feel the heat. I loved Jackson, he is totally swoon worthy, he made me laugh and smile and ticked the boxes for me. I also loved how Molly was welcomed into the Wynn family, they may be eccentric at times but when they love someone they embrace them wholeheartedly.
A well written romance which had me totally invested in the story that Ms.Jamieson wove and is my favourite to date.
This is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey Series. Jax and Molly are perfect for each other. This is a friends to lovers story, and probably the best one I’ve read. It’s a slow burn romance. It’s fun and flirty with a touch of heat. The characters in this series handle difficult situations with maturity and grace. It’s very refreshing to read a story where there are no childish temper tantrums. Although it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the other books in the series. I mean, why would anyone pass on hot hockey players?? Looking forward to more of the Wynn family!
ARC provided for an honest review
I have read many of Kelly Jamieson’s books and have enjoyed them immensely. Game Changer is her latest offering, and it’s a steamy sports romance with settings at a luxurious resort in Los Angeles, a secluded cabin in Gladstone, Canada, and the bustling city of Chicago. This story opens with a huge bang, then slows down considerably, until it picks up again towards the end. The characters are engaging and I enjoyed getting to know them. This is the fifth book from the Wynn Hockey series and it can be read as a standalone.
Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
Wow, I have to say that was one way to stop a wedding! I have never seen, read, watched, heard of, anything about the way this wedding had ended in such a glorious manor…it was spectacular!
Jax is a knight in shining hockey skates when Molly needed him the most. Imagine calling off your wedding and now not having anywhere to go because you have moved all of your stuff into the place you are supposed to be sharing with your husband, only now that isn’t going to happen…what do you do? Well luckily for Molly Jax was there to help her even if he did it reluctantly.
Jax and Steve are teammates for the Chicago Aces, I loved seeing the old team together for the wedding it was such fun I really missed them since the series ended, but while they are teammates Jax is also friends with Molly, Steve’s fiance. I would say that even though there is a brotherhood between teammates there is more of a friendship between Jax and Molly, which is a good thing here.
There is a lot going on in this book and I would say one of my favorite parts is the way Molly helps Jax reconnect with his Family, The Wynn’s, and guides him with dealing with his grandfathers illness amongst other things. I think he needed someone to show him a different side of things to help him open up to what was happening.
This was another great addition to the Wynn Hockey Series, I would totally recommend reading the series in order because of the family drama that is playing out in each of the stories but it can be read as a standalone if you choose to read it that way.
Happy Reading!!!
I’m not sure how to categorize this read, it’s a sport romance, it’s a friends to lovers, maybe a second chance romance it’s all that and a great read! Molly is ready to get married, she walked down the aisle, stood before her groom, family and friends and handed her cheating fiance’s butt to him, now she just wants to get out of town away from it all. Jax is Molly’s friend and teammate to her groom so when she wants to get away from the wedding venue he helps. what he didn’t expect was for her to invite herself on his trip out to California nor could he predict that he’s invite her to spend the summer in Canada! Is it just a rebound fling, summer fling or more? Humor, feels, loyalty, heat and HEA, great read!
