We all have secrets. Like the fact that I portray myself as a simple florist, living a mundane life. Which is a far stretch from reality. My family is rock god royalty. My father an ‘80s icon, my siblings all celebrities in their own right. Then there’s me, Lyric Griffin, hiding in plain sight trying to be everything I’m not. Along comes Eddie, someone I find myself completely attracted to. I’m … attracted to. I’m simply Lyric to him, not a princess of rock. He’s gorgeous, a little cocky, and knows what he wants — me.
But I made a mistake.
I trusted him, and he betrayed me.
Is Eddie nothing but a hotshot deceiver?

My first K.E. Osborn book. I’m really loveing all of these cocky hero books, not only are they absolutely fantastic, I’m getting to read new to me Authors. Hotshot Deceiver sucked me in form the very beginning, I fell in love. Their banter and chemistry was amazing, and Polly was freaking hilarious. I need that parrot in my life. Watching their love story play out was wonderful, you can’t help but fall in love with them. I enjoyed every second and still want more. A perfect addition to this wonderful world of book. A must read that I highly recommend.
You know what I liked best about this story? The realism. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has things they don’t openly share and/or talk about. That’s just part of life. The key is to know when keeping those secrets could destroy something better than keeping those secrets would give you. Well, that was wordy! LOL Bottom line, in life, deciding who you share things with is always a gamble and always comes with consequences. Not sharing does the same. Two sides of the same coin. Our hero has a big secret. It’s a secret that exploded this story and I have to say this to the author … well done! Everything that led up to the unveiling of his secret was perfectly plotted and everything that happened after the unveiling was perfectly layered and unfolded to a glorious HEA!
This story was just great you guys! It had a perfect mix of humor and angst. It was anticipatory and held my attention from the very beginning. I really liked that the story was told first in Lyric’s POV and then it turned to Eddie’s POV. At first I was thinking why not just go back and forth from the beginning but once I started reading and figuring things out slowly it hit me … excellent choice.

This book had me hooked from the first page. I was captivated by the plot and the characters . I was totally invested. The story was unputdownable and I read it in one sitting. It had everything to make it a great story from perfect chemistry to plenty of humor and emotions. The story was well developed and had kept me guessing about Eddie’s character . I loved the banter and chemistry between Eddie and Lyri and loved the other side characters. Overall it was a fantastic read.
Secrets, lies, and betrayal. Will Eddie and Lyric be able to survive these challenges or will Eddie’s lies destroy their chance at happiness? This story tugs at the heartstrings, makes you laugh, swoon, and get hot and bothered. It is a sweet unexpected love story with a wonderful and unusual cast of characters. I recommend reading it!

Secrets, suspense, passion, and undeniable chemistry! That’s what you get with this. Both Lyric and Eddie are hiding things about themselves but those don’t prevent the pull they have to each other. It’s when they’r revealed that kept me on edge and practically not breathing just waiting to see what would happen.
Not gonna lie, it almost felt like I read two different books between part one and part two of this story. In part one I found myself laughing out loud at Polly’s foul mouth and the “get to know you” parts of Eddie and Lyri’s relationship was fun but I could definitely tell Eddie had some secrets he was hiding. By the second part of the book I was riding a roller coaster of emotions…sadness, swooning and even frustration with both Lyri and Eddie. Over all I liked how the two parts flowed and filled in the blanks as Eddie and Lyri worked on their relationship with each other and their families.
3.5 stars
Lyric and Eddie’s story was really well done. I hadn’t read anything by this author before but enjoyed her writing here.
Lyric and Eddie definitely have their ups and downs, but it isn’t overdone or unnecessarily angsty. I was happy to see them get their happily ever after.
The cameos by Chance, Aubrey, and Pixy were great. This cameos are one of my favorite parts of the books in the CHC world.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Hotshot Deceiver is is part of the Cocky Hero Club which is inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard series. This one is inspired by Cocky Bastard. You don’t have to have the Cocky Bastard to enjoy this one. Lyric is a fun down to earth girl. She runs a florist store. Her Dad is a famous a musician and her mom is his manager so growing up she isn’t feel that they were around enough. She has a great voice but wants nothing to do with being a famous musician. She meets Eddie, who she calls hotshot. He has a good job but doesn’t give a much details up front. Eddie is a nice guy but he has a lot of secrets. I liked these together. When he’s secrets come out, I was worried that that would be the end of Lyric and Eddie.
Hotshot Deceiver by K.E. Osborn is the story of Eddie and Lyric. This book is a part of the Cocky Hero Club Series, but can be a standalone book. Lyric just wants to be a florist and doesn’t want to be a part anymore of her family’s rock star life. Then Eddie comes to buy flowers and sparks start to fly between the two, but Eddie has his secrets…ones that hurt Lyric. Enjoyed their story.
This will be another favorite of mine for sure. With so many great books coming out in the CHC world it’s fun when you get the ones that really just have that little something extra, I don’t know what it is and maybe for me it’s just that I click with the characters in some more than others but this book had it. I loved the premise of this story and how hard Eddie had to work to get Lyric to give him another shot. I loved all the characters but especially loved Lyric, she really stood her ground and gave Eddie a run for his money.

Love the Cocky series. Each book is a gem in itself bringing ask these talented authors together to each create a wonderful addition to the series. This book was five stars ask the way.
Eddie and Lyric’s romance is simply fantastic!! The chemistry, heat, feels and romance is soooooooo good. What a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club . Lyric and Eddie have their ups and downs but this couple really show what it means to fight for their love. Their story is amazing, the chemistry is fantastic and the plot sizzles.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
Lyric doesn’t want to be part of her families rock world. She wants a simple life to share with those she loves. Eddie wasn’t looking to fall in love but somehow Lyric makes his world right. Both have secrets they don’t want to share. Will those secrets destroy any chance they have at happiness?
I loved that this book was about Eddie. Glad to get a story that explains Chance’s friend. Lyric has good reason to not want the life she grew up in and to not give her trust easily. Eddie is so perfect for her that despite what she learns about him I was always rooting for her to forgive him. Hotshot Deceiver took your emotions all over the place from funny and sweet to steamy and sad. Loved the characters and always enjoy when Chance, Aubrey and Pixy make an appearance. Great addition to the Cocky Hero Club World.
Hotshot Deceiver takes us into the Cocky Hero World connected with Chance from Cocky Bastard. Eddie and Lyric’s story will have your heart pounding and your pulse racing as lies, secrets and revelations bring drama and heartache. As this hotshot and his hummingbird let their past influence decisions, it will have this couple having to fight for what they want. A captivating story that is quirky, witty, steamy and heartfelt. If you are a fan of Cocky Bastard and remember that sometimes it was Pixie who stole the show, just be prepared as the goat just might get upstaged in this story.

Phew! Fanning myself here because Eddie is one very ‘hot as all get out’ guy. Yep, he’s mine, just sayin’.
The two lead characters are both fabulous and extremely likeable even though, yes, Eddie of course stuffs up. I have to say that Lyric’s inner strength, her determination and drive are admirable and her great sense of humour as well as her self-honesty all create such a well rounded character-what’s not to like? Eddie… well yes, as I have said, is one gorgeous hunk in a suit, swoon! But he certainly is a lot more. He has high morals, a terrific sense of loyalty and is romantic to boot. Their chemistry is so hot it almost burns up the pages but it’s their easy camaraderie that is so much fun.
Special mention must go to Pixy who is his natural gorgeous self, he is a cutie and the Polly Parton. Oh, without spoiling anything let me just say you are in for a treat meeting this little sparkler with his colourful language.
There is a serious issue and it represents many other or any other issue for anyone else. It’s a big part of the story and yet it doesn’t overwhelm the storyline. The lighter humorous element comes to the fore and works incredibly well and the reason for the extra half a star, I thoroughly enjoyed the chuckles and outright laughter from some of the hilarious scenes and terrific expressions in the story. Throw in the fun banter between the characters and it deserves the extra praise.
This is a great romantic comedy where the humour is natural and the romance is passionate and steamy. I recommend it to everyone.

This is one intriguing read from beginning to end. Lyric is a woman who grew up in a house of music royalty. As her parents were absent and constantly on tour with their band, she was responsible for raising her two siblings. This led her to want nothing to do with her family’s lifestyle. Adding insult to injury, she fell for the lead singer of a rock band and it did not go well which only increased her desire to stay out of the limelight. Getting as far away from her family as one can, she purchased a flower shop. Eddie is the sexy male that shows up at Lyric’s flower shop and the sparks between them are explosive. The more time they spend together, the more Lyric falls for him. However, he is keeping a huge secret from Lyric and when the truth comes out, she is going to blow a gasket. Will Eddie be able to win back Lyric’s trust? This is one highly enjoyable storyline and a welcome addition to the Cocky Hero Club collection of books. It is a look at the lengths a man will go to for the woman he loves. It is an emotional roller coaster and the animals included thoroughly enhance the storyline. The writing style is witty and flows well although, at times, it took some warming up to Lyric as she appeared to be all over the place. Overall, readers will not be able to help becoming invested in this story. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

The truth is… that the truth always comes out. GAH! Eddie & Lyric’s story will have you all up in your feels From beginning to end I was completely invested in these two and their story.. Lyric likes her life, away from the spotlight that is her rock star family & is simply happy doing what she loves to do. Meeting Eddie was a chance meeting… but their connection is unavoidable. But when Eddie’s secrets come out… Can she forgive him?
I loved the way K.E. Osborn wrote this book… the dual POV’s… half the book is Lyric’s and half is Eddie’s it was perfect for this story/their story. You go on this journey with them… as secrets are revealed, your heart might break (just a little bit ) and then it’s put back together piece by beautiful piece && I really hope we see more of these characters in the future.

I loved how this story was written. The first half is in Lyric’s point-of-view. Lyric has a passion for flowers and owns a successful flower shop. The rest of her family is in the music industry. Growing up with parents that were always touring and never home had a huge impact on Lyric. She always craved normalcy in her life. But on this Valentine’s day, she is feeling lonely. In a mad rush to get flowers for the shop, she picks up a crazy stow-away but what is even more unusual is the sexy man walking up to her shop that recognizes the stow-away. Eddie is entranced by Lyric so when the opportunity presents itself to go on a road trip to return the stow-away, he jumps at the chance. These two balance each other perfectly. I love how Lyric just says whatever she is thinking. Oftentimes, she says something that she believes she only thought in her head which makes for some hilarious moments. But just as these two are getting serious, the other shoe drops and Eddie’s secrets are revealed. For Lyric, this is the ultimate betrayal. Now, can Eddie redeem himself and convince Lyric to trust him again? The road to forgiveness is never easy and I love everything Eddie does to try and win Lyric back. Will it work? You have to read to find out and enjoy the ride! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
