Vadim and Tiffany’s story continues to keep me hooked. In this book we learn even more about Vadim and the much softer side of him which makes me love him even more and even though Tiffany is getting what she wants from the kink side of there agreement she’s getting more then she bargained for the with Vadim and the intense connection they share. Can’t wait for the next one!!
This was phenomenal I was consumed by every word and couldn’t even guess what was coming next with the twists and turns and such raw emotion that will have you in a mess of feelings for these complex characters that are written to perfection.
Vadim and Tiffany are hot as ever and with Magdalena appearing it gets intense and raw but Oh so Good I loved it, never a dull moment with a shocking ending that almost scares me to find out what happens.
I’ve been waiting for so long to read this book and I am so excited to say that it was as great as I expected it to be! The main character was so different from the ones I’ve seen in other books by this same author and it was incredibly refreshing to read. Tiffany, who wishes to explore certain pleasures in life meets the elusive Vadim, a man with a difficult past. While seemingly simple at first, the plot becomes increasingly more complicated, taking the reader on a journey that remains interesting throughout. I enjoyed this book so much and I can’t wait to read the next book!
Lana Sky is an extremely gifted author. She has the ability to suck you into her story; and, this book is no exception. Vadim and Tiffany are so different. Vadim knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to charge after it. Tiffany is developing feelings for Vadim. Will she be able to meet his demands; or, will her fears cause her to turn and run? This book takes you on a journey of twists and turns that you won’t see coming. How will these characters handle the twists and turns coming their way?
I loved Tiffany’s character in the first book and I loved it even more after her character developed in this second book. Her self-confidence, witty, and direct nature is so different from Lana’s other main female protagonists. It’s a breath of fresh air, which I love. Also watching her relationship progress with Vadim is so amazing because I can compare it to the progress that was made between Maxim and Franky in their second novel. It’s great to see how Lana has gives both male main characters such different women and yet, they’re so compatible with their partners. Honestly, I really recommend reading Maxim’s story before this series just so that you can get a deeper understanding of how everything interconnects. Loved this book and I’m so excited for part 3!
Prepare to have your heart put through an emotional meat grinder piece by piece in this deftly superior book by Ms. Sky.
This second entry in Vadim’s story brings us Vadim & Tiffany again as well a new player: Vadim’s daughter Magdalena. But all three of these characters are deeply damaged &/or wounded. Vadim with his horrifying childhood of sexual slavery/abuse, Tiffany wounded by an ex-husband’s cruel verbal abuse that has left her determined to never enter into a commited relationship again, & Magdalena who’s cold & cutting attitude & actions make it clear she too is somehow wounded & damaged.
But the kicker in this story is Ms. Sky’s writing because she MAKES the reader CARE. ACHE. WORRY. Long to reach into the pages of the book & offer solace, comfort, support. LOVE. Her writing is wonderful, she allows the reader to FEEL Vadim’s agony, Tiffany’s seesawing emotions & Magda’s fragile bravery.
Vadim is dangerous, he’s a master at mind games, ruthless in their application & delivery. Cold, shut off, shut down, brillant, beautiful & enigmatic. And appears comletely detached & unemotional.
But then Tiffany entered his life: brash, determined to ignite her inner sexual fantasies, seemingly self-absorbed but is aware of Vadim’s actual fragility & damaged heart & soul. And the true Tiffany continues to shine unlike many heroines: despite her intention to remain emotionally aloof & ‘safe’, her generous & loving heart just cannot refuse to support Vadim, offer him physical as well as verbal comfort, cannot remain angry with him because she SEES the agony, longing & heart rending hope in his dark eyes.
And having come to understand Vadim, his whims & moods, his shutdowns, his ‘walls’ shield a heart aching for acceptance & love for himself as he is, she is the perfect person to understand his daughter’s moods & proclivities.
This one beautifully continues Vadim & Tiffany’s journey as Ms. Sky deftly peels more & more layers from their pasts & current situation, ensures that we want to travel with them, that we need to know how this story will turn out. We want these flawed but loving souls to find healing, hopefully together. We rejoice at their victories small & large & wince or tear up at any defeats they experience crossing our fingers they will prevail.
You want excellent writing? Writing that pulls you in & makes you CARE? Makes you NEED to know what will happen? You want steam (kinky & not), suspense, tension, emotion?
READ THIS ONE.
What an absolute biatch!
This ends in a moment of absolute disbelief and this was the first thought to enter my mind.
What kind of soulless wench does that?
Now that that is off my chest
Let me start with Tiff –
She had me wanting to drown her in a wine cask at the beginning of this episode. Her it’s all about me, I have a list, me, me, me attitude made me cringe.
But – yes there is a but – She pulls it together, albeit slowly, reinserts her spine (seriously the wishy-washy poor me was driving me insane) and took control!
And (I might have shed a tear here) Darn if she was not impressive!
I actually might like her
Vadim…
He holds an even bigger spot in my heart. Yeah, he has some issues he needs to deal with but watching him let down his guard, allow himself moments of weakness … ** sigh**
Seeing the real man under all that posturing puts him in a new light.
He is a formidable opponent don’t underestimate the lengths he will go to to take what he wants.
We do visit the past a few times within this story line – Some heartbreaking moments from Vadim’s captivity
How can life be so darn cruel?
He is trying to put the pieces of his life back in place
So hard – He’s trying
I’m not going to risk spoiling what happens here. There are so many secrets and small occurrences that threaten everything he has worked for.
Maxi – I dislike you more now than before – didn’t think that was even possible.
You are a blind selfish horse’s backside!
As you can tell this was a touch emotional. I still yearn for a deeper connection with Tiff and some more insight into certain events. I do see most of this being resolved in the next release if the closing scene is any determinate
Wow! This book was one intriguing read that kept me totally engaged as each and every page was turned of the well written storyline and characters that were so well developed that I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading the very last page!
I loved the book. I expected one thing and it was totally different from what I had in mind. I love how this book is a mix of sweet, fun, dark and secrets. The characters are truly unique and I loved to see their evolution, their torment, their hopes and dreams.
I mentioned in my review of Control XXX Vadim Book 1: (Club XXX Book 4) that it was not the usual dark, dark romance from this author. It had scenes of an intense nature but nothing like the first three books in the Club XXX series. Vadim’s book two continues that theme with even less dark than book one. There are actually more heartwarming scenes that gave me all the feels. Hint: most of those scenes weren’t actually between Tiffany and Vadim, but Tiffany and someone new instead.
This is not a standalone from Vadim book 1. You really need to read Control first. I would highly recommend reading books 1-3 (Maxim’s books) first but you wouldn’t have to. It does help to understand Vadim’s relationship (or lack there of) with his brother and Frankie if you read the entire series in order.
I really like Tiffany. She is trying so hard to have something different in her life. She’s developing self confidence to be on her own and make decisions that are right for her and her happiness. Sometimes Vadim seems to fit into that plan and sometimes he doesn’t. Her feelings are conflicted. Enter someone new and her emotions and resolve are all over the place. What will she choose? Will her choice end in happiness or heartache?
We see a different side of Vadim in book two. There are moments he seems more tortured than ever. As gruff as he can be, we also get glimpses of a loving, caring, and nurturing side of him. Not to mention the levels of vulnerability he shows.
Book one ended with a heck of a cliffhanger involving someone from Vadim’s past. In book two, we see another cliffhanger involving another person from Vadim’s past. Somehow though, I think this new person is going to prove to be more troublesome for Vadim and Tiffany. I cannot wait to see what happens next and how this one ends.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Wonderful continuation
This is a wonderful book 2 (book 5 in ClubXXX) for Vadim and Tiffany. Vadim has stolen my heart and Tiffany is falling in spite of all of her intentions. Little Magda is a wonderful addition to their dynamic. Of course book 1 must be read first and this does end on a doozy of a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for their next book.
I read a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
This is the second book in the serious and I do recommend reading them in order. Vadim and Tiffany’s story continues. Tiffany is enjoying her and Vadim’s introduction to kink but is a bit scared of the intensity of the chemistry not the to mention how close she is becoming to his young daughter. Will Vadim’s past come back to ruin everything? Fast-paced, steamy read with lots of drama, suspense and emotion. I was hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait for more!
Corrupt (XXX Vadim Book 2): Club XXX Book 5 by Lana Sky
Tiffany Conners has played the dutiful wife and Sunday school teacher but wants a little taste of the darker side of romance. She is tired of hiding that inner part of herself.
Vadim (Dima) Gorgoshev has been through literal hell his entire life and has made it through the other side. He has learned to control everything in his life because it is what saved him from utter chaos.
A fragile agreement has been made between Tiffany and Vadim, but can she really trust him to keep his promise? Vadim will help Tiffany with her introduction to the dirtier side of sex but in return he needs help with an addition to his family and home. And considering Vadim does have a membership to a well-known sex club, XXX, he seems to be the perfect candidate for the job to bring the inner sex kitten out of Tiffany that has always been under the surface. Vadim is used to being in control in all things but finds himself out of his depth with a new family member. Vadim does not realize that a house does not make a home but that is where Tiffany can help. Tiffany tries to help bridge the gap between Vadim and his new family but when she can bond faster, can he leave his jealousy at the door? Will Vadim let his emotions corrupt his growing family or will he trust in Tiffany to help him when he isn’t used to asking for help?
Corrupt is book 2 with Vadim and Tiffany but book 5 in the XXX series. These two are so perfect for one another. Vadim reminds me of a little boy sometimes in awe of being allowed to pick out anything he wants in a candy store. He has been denied so much that instead of asking for what he wants he just takes it. Tiffany can show him that he is worthy when others told him otherwise. Tiffany is used to being told that she was not good enough or strong enough by her ex-husband. Vadim proves to her that she is so much more in many ways. Both peel back the layers to see the real person underneath.
Thrilling EMOTIONAL Read!
I love Vadim’s story it brings out the best and worst emotions keeping me on pins and needles throughout the gripping suspense filled storyline. From one page to the next I don’t know whether to be happy, sad, excited or live on the edge as the storyline gets deep and a bit raw unsure how this will all play out in the end but I have high hopes as always Lana brings her A-Game through her exceptional writing that does a fantastic job of assaulting every nerve and sending my mind in frantic directions making it unpredictable and impossible to put down. The chemistry is phenomenal, hot and incredibly sexy. Vadim is Swoon-Worthy with an unpredictable stormy side. The cliffy has me gasping with huge bug eyes. I sure as heck am going to be having a hard time for the next installment of this series to come out. An absolute attention getter that is a must read.
Vadim is still so dreamy and very complicated. He has Tiffany in his grasp but will she cling to him?
I love the presence of Maxim and Francesca in these stories. And of course Milton! I need more from him.
Lana composes beautiful and heartbreaking stories. Her characters always hook the reader from page 1 and doesn’t let go.
Vadim was so swoon worthy in this second installment of (XXX Vadim) We see more of who Vadim is in this story and boy was I not disappointed in the outcome of his character. He is not as hard around the edges as our boy Maxim is. I loved that Maxim and Francesca made a appearance. I love that Vadim is caring, and Madga is his top priority and you can see that he would do anything for her.
The chemistry between Tiff and Vadim is off the charts hott! You can see the internal battle that Tiff is having with herself and her rules that she has made for herself. The more time she spends with Vadim and in his bed the more she loses herself and the more time she spends with Magda the more she sees everything that she has been longing for. Will Vadim’s secrets push Tiff away or keep her clinging to hope. Lana again has exceeded our expectations. Definitely another 5 star! These XXX men will have you in their clutches and you will always fall hard!
I find it interesting that two warring brothers so very different, each end up wanting the same thing. A loving family. This series is definitely my favorite from Sky, especially after this book. It oozes powerful angst and emotional honesty, making the characters sing with realism.
I read several other reviews and I suppose I can’t get around talking about Magda in this review. We learn more about her in the beginning, activating Tiffany’s doubts and fears. A whirlwind of emotions, Tiffany goes from anger to jealousy to crippling fear of the unknown. This is new territory and she feels out of her depth.
“The vulnerable, raw part of him that calls to the empathic part of my soul. And the calculating, vengeful mastermind always one step ahead. With every second ticking by, that selfish, pathetic hurt in my chest digs deeper, biting into my very core.”
Tiffany verbalize her hurt, frustration and plans to leave, but it’s here that Vadim gets truly interesting.
““Single is not something I foresee for myself,” he murmurs, stroking my jaw in a devastating, toe-curling swipe. “Not anymore.””
He digs deep and used his metaphorical and manipulative arsenal to demand she stays. Some of the most beautiful scenes are written by Sky when Vadim is his most vulnerable. He struggles with Tiffany the unknown piece of the puzzle. The piece that rammed its way into his life, demanding to be heard.
““Tell me I can have you.” He leans down, brushing his lips against my quivering throat. “Tell me I deserve you.” My brain reels at his tone. Guttural. Broken. Teasing aside, this is far beyond sex. Too far. “Vadim—” He nips , rendering me silent. “Say it. I deserve you. I… I am owed you. No one can take you from me. Not him. Not God. No one.”
My heart! My chest got tight reading these scenes that made Vadim worth fighting for no matter what. While Magda and a new forthright Vadim crawled under Tiffany’s skin, Sky tenderly writes about the hesitancy…this life really can’t be perfect for us! Vadim doesn’t need me getting involved in his single fatherhood! Tiffany continues to feel reluctance even while Vadim does everything he can to keep her. It’s utterly heartbreaking!
“More than ever, I’m starting to sense what I was afraid of all along, that niggling suspicion that I don’t belong here. I don’t deserve to belong here.”
Sky has flayed these characters open, including Magda, and allowed us the reader a true glimpse into the madness that is family. They drive each other crazy all in the name of…love? These stubborn characters don’t use that naughty word, for fear it will take away all the boundaries, all the skepticism, all the bulletproof vests. Then it’s just them standing there, waiting for the chips to fall and the chaos to reign. But what if chaos is just what the reader already knows? That “normal” families always have chaos and it’s all in The way you come together to deal with it.
wow, Wow, WOW! If you have read book one Vadim: Control, (and you absolutely need to have done that because this book continues Vadim and Tiffany’s story) you might have thought that there was no way that things could get more intense or that you could feel pushed even closer to a dangerous edge, then you were so, so wrong. This gripping tale and will totally have you ensorcelled and firmly in the palm of its hand. The chemistry is incredibly hot and the characters complex. Just when you think you know all there is to know another layer is peeled away and you see a whole new aspect to them. Filled with drama, powerful emotions, action, lots of twists and steadily increasing tension, this read does not disappoint. Try to be prepared for the cliffy and the wait to see how things wrap up in the third and final book in this incredible series. This is my volitional, candid review.
Corrupt is the second installment in the XXX Vadim trilogy.
i abslsoutly LOVED this book and how things developed in it, i mean was pretty excited to read it esciaially after the way things ended in Control and i enjoyed every minute of this book.
i loved how both charhchters developed here and that we got to see a more intimate, vulnerable side of them, this brought so much clarity and understanding behind their motives and actions.
cant wait to find out what happens next.
Unquestionably one of the best series I have ever read. Tiffany and Vadim are unique to say the least with a ton of emotions. And then we meet Magdalene, she is totally stirring up everyone. I loved every single word in this book. I read it non-stop. The ending was heart-stopping again!. Once again, I cannot wait until the next book. I hate for this series to end and hope Lana is working on another one for us.
