Cocky Boss is the first book in the Badder Bosses series with Liz Fox. It is a steamy, standalone novella with a strong, curvy heroine, and a cocky alpha hero.QuinnOn the outside, I’m respectable and responsible. But on the inside, I’m a secret romantic. When my boss offers me a proposal, it’s more business than pleasure. After spending more time with him outside of the office, my idealized … outside of the office, my idealized fantasies are shattered.
Now I’m getting to know the real Bennett.
He’s handsome, loyal, and there’s more to him than his cocky exterior.
Can I trust that he wants me, or does he just want the money?
Bennett
I have every reason to be cocky—money, power, and good looks.
At least I thought I did.
Turns out one bad decision could cost me everything.
Now I have to find someone to marry, and my assistant is the easiest choice.
It isn’t until we spend more time together that I realize she’s more than just a convenience.
Quinn is curvy, sexy, and teaches me what romance really is.
Can I convince her that what we have is not just for show anymore?

Quinn has been an assistant for years to Weston aka Wes. She has crushed on him for just as long but has done well to separate her feelings from her work.
Wes runs the business and finds out almost too late a cause in the contract from when he took the business over from his dad. Wes steps up to ask the only woman he trusts with what needs to be done…Quinn.
These two are so sweet together and they know they are on a time limit but will they figure it out before it is too late?
I love this book. The story was so vibrant and exciting. Weston’s father put a clause in a contract that said he was giving the company to Wes. What he didn’t explain to him was he had to be married or the contract was void and null. The only person Wes can think to marry in two days is his assistant Quinn. What he doesn’t know if that Quinn has loved him for a long time. They agree to get married. I have to say at first I thought that Wes was going to be a jerk like his father but the Judge at the hearing said it all. “So, Mr. Kingbury, your intention was to have Weston earn nothing while doing all the work and you and your other son reaped all the benefits.” That was priceless. I’ll let you read what finally happens between Wes and Quinn. But it was swoon worthy. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Wow! Just Wow! I loved this story, but how could you not. It’s got boss & assistant, fake marriage, hidden love – basically all the good stuff. But beyond all that, these characters were magnificent! I really liked Quinn. She’s a professional woman – confident, loyal, feisty yet sweet, and just happens to be in love with her boss. She’s alot of fun to read. Weston. Weston is the one who steals your heart, though. He’s what you’d expect from a “Badder Boss” – driven, successful, arrogant, self-centered. But he’s also so much more than that. Many of his behaviors are a reaction to his father, and for such an intelligent guy, he really is clueless. But he’s not without redemption, he’s not a jerk, and once he realizes what he truly wants, Watch Out! This is by far by favorite book by this author!

Weston is put into a predicament. His dad made him sign a contract but did not realize there was a 60 day clause for him to get married. Problem he only has a few days to find a good person to help. The only person he could think of and trusted other than himself was Quinn. She was his assistant for several years. No matter what happens, big, small, good or bad, Quinn was able to help defuse and assist. So it was very just concerning when he shows up and offers her a pre-nip to a fake marriage. Characters nicely matched. Weston just has to follow up the clues to realize its not so bad for the fake to be real. No cliffhanger
I really liked this story. Quinn and Weston were the quintessential couple from a workplace romance. Weston the boss was totally naive on what was proper etiquette with someone he valued more than staff. Quinn his personal assistant, was the long suffering, gaga about her boss personal assistant.
This story was short but not without its dramas and needless to say, Weston’s ineptitude surely tested. But he came through in the end, as did Quinn. There was lots of romance and steamy scenes that were relevant to the story. A great book and one I’ll enjoy again in future.
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
Business is not everything
Great short read about a guy who will do anything to keep his family business.
Weston never thought his father would stoop that low to include that clause in the contract of his company.
Quinn is Westons assistant knows him better than anyone else so she is the only one who he trusts to help.
Weston for being such a prominent and successful businessman really has no idea how the world of love works.
He is about to be thrown in the deep end real quick and he needs to learn how to swim.
I really enjoy every book of CL Cruz and honestly look forward to the next one.

Weston runs a very successful venture capital firm but his father put a clause in the contract when he signed the firm over to him that said he must be married in 60 days or lose the firm. He just found out about that clause and must marry by the weekend so he asks his longtime sensible and reliable assistant Quinn to marry him. She knows he is smart, sexy, and arrogant but she has always had a crush on him and doesn’t want to get hurt so she hesitates. However, she remembers he has always been kind to her so she agrees to the temporary marriage. He doesn’t want to hurt her but he feels he must get married. After they marry and move in together will they become closer? Will the marriage clause be removed from the contract so they can get a quick annulment?
I enjoyed this short story of 2 coworkers who realize they might have feelings for each other. I especially liked the epilogue
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This is a very sweet marriage of convenience romance. Weston has to get married or lose his business. he asked his assistant Quinn but does not realize her true feelings. Will he understand before it is too late? I voluntarily reviewed this ARC
This office romance will have you cheering for Weston and Quinn to get a happily ever after. Weston is at odds with his father and when he signs a contract taking over his father’s company he did not read it thoroughly because there is a clause that could have him losing the company if he doesn’t marry within sixty days which is coming up fast. Quinn as secretly had a thing for her boss and when she is approached for a fake marriage she agrees but will her heat get compromised in the process?
