Dill Best has a wedding to plan, a family business to save, and no time for straight guys with hard muscles and soft kisses.Dill:I’m fed up with the Walker family. It seems like everyone has their own agenda for this high-budget wedding that’s supposed to catapult our family business to the next level. And then I find out my one-night fling was the best man, Griff Walker. The groom’s brother. … Walker. The groom’s brother. Who’s not out. And we’re stuck together with his simmering gaze and wandering hands… all week long.
The Best family’s first rule? Don’t get involved with the wedding party. But I can’t keep my eyes—or hands—off him.
Griff:
I hate being back in town. I ran to Arizona to get away from these small-minded, big-spending bigots. I only came back for the bride’s sake; my sister-in-law is the closest to real family I’ve got. I want to protect sassy little Dill from the rest of my family… and cherish him… and maybe even love him. Oh, crap.
I’m supposed to be leaving in a week. Now that I’ve found something with Dill that feels real, I want to stay. But my family has other plans… and the truth might just shatter this fairytale wedding.

Oh, this book was a hoot. Can we acknowledge the amazing chapter titles? Omg, I loved them!
Secondly, let’s discuss my love and adoration for Dill. So much sass! He was a little dynamo, and kept his cool with all the Walker madness. I’m not sure I could’ve done that. I cheered him on every time he squared his shoulders, and headed in to battle another ‘change in plans’ by that ridiculous family. I was happy he took some moments of happiness for himself, when he indulged in a little rule breaking with the best man. Which leads me to talk about another sweet man. Griffin Walker, once removed, has THE worst family imaginable. While he struggled with resorting back to being afraid a time or two, he grabbed onto his inner strength and faced them head on. I liked Griff and Dill as a couple.
This was a great debut book for Zoe Dawn. It’s book one in a series, and I can’t wait for the next one. This book has all the things that put a smile on my face: love, sarcasm, and good triumphing over evil. Oh, and some steamy moments. I’m a sucker for some humor and a happy ever after. This fit the bill, and my heart is happy.

A sweet and sexy read. There’s just the right amount of external angst to make a fun conflict, ensuring this is an easy romantic read. Likeable characters and a really lovely plot and relationship development—great for an afternoon’s escapism.
I love that this whole series is about finding love, very quickly, low angst, between the couples (so far,) and finding that happily ever after. While Dill and Griff initially met for only one night, the feelings grew as they kept running into each other within a week of chaos and family drama. This series is a great summer read!
4 ½ stars
Best Laid Plans is a good, easy read. The main characters are lovable and easy to relate to, and the secondary characters are well placed and supportive of the storyline. The unlikable characters are easy to hate and do an excellent job instigating the angst.
The premise is interesting, and the narrative flows smoothly from scene to scene.
The romance is fast, but it works in this book. The connection feels real, and the spicy times are sweet, sexy, and romantic.
I loved Dill and Griff’s characters. These two are just perfect for one another. The chemistry and attraction between these two was off the charts. But will Griff be able to be himself or will he keep hiding himself from his family? Loved this read.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Griffin returns home reluctantly to attend his brothers wedding. Unexpectedly he meets Dylan, who was a one night stand at the wedding, with him being the wedding planner.
I liked reading the development of the MC’s feelings for each other in this story. This was a quick, low angst read with a HEA. I definitely recommend this book!
New to me author. I really enjoyed this mm contemporary story set in the USA. Main characters are Griff a closeted ex rich kid mechanic and Dylan aka Dill a wedding planner involved in a family business. Told from both characters POV. Loved this story. I’ll read more from this author and series.
Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Griff hates his family. But his sister-in-law to be is lovely and he doesn’t want to disappoint her by not attending his brother’s wedding to her. A Grindr date is just what he needs. Meeting that date when he attends a suit fitting knocks him off his axis. Dill is the wedding planner, and has a strict *no fraternisation* rule. But they already got together, right?? He just needs to deal with this wedding of the year!
This was a delightful read!
Yes, there are homophobic idiots with more money than sense. Yes, there is a groom who is doing this for all the wrongs reasons and is a total A88hole.
But Griff and Dill?? They are perfect for each other!
Their original meeting might not have been the stuff made in fairy tales, but it produces a powerful connection between them. It produces a heat that burns bright and hot throughout the whole book. Yes, it moves fast from meeting to love, the whole book takes place over a week, but here it is right and proper for these two.
I loved that Dill’s family was so excepting. The *token straight brother* comment made me laugh! They rib and tease, but they love each other hard. Griff’s family, however, are polar opposite. They have money, and are not afraid to use it. When we find out just what Griff’s brother is doing, I wanted to punch him so bad. Then when the bride finds out?? Let’s just say, she found her balls
The physical relationship between Griff and Dill moves at speed, given the time involved and Griff’s history, but the emotional one does too. I liked that it does. I don’t always like speedy falling in love but here? Really liked it.
Both Griff and Dill have a say, in the first person. Both voices are different, and clearly defined, showing their very different upbringings. Each change is clearly headed.
There are two other romances brewing in this book too, Dill’s brothers. They get books next, and I look forward to reading them, at the backdrop of the wedding from hell.
4 good, solid stars

This is a sweet, insta-love story with one of the MCs finally coming out and getting together with a man for the first time. Add in the chaos of a wedding, a family from hell and last minute drama and there are lots of things to test the newly developing relationship.
Griffin Walker has returned home for the first I enjoyed in years to attend his brother’s wedding and serve as Best Man, though lord knows why. And he’s been keeping a big secret that he is finally willing to test out. Little does he know his cautious experiment is going to turn his world upside down. Dylan Best is a wedding planner working with the family from hell who are making his life miserable. He has bad vibes about what is happening but can’t quite put his dinger on it. And now he’s distracted by the fantastic app hookup he had last night. But he has to concentrate because this wedding could make or break his family’s business.
The setup here is different. I’m not big on the insta-love trope but it is handled nicely here and there is so much other stuff going on that it isn’t too schmaltzy. We don’t really get a lot of background on the MCs, just enough to give us a feel about the families they come from but not really who they are. Though the feel for the families does explain quite a bit about the men they have become. You will spend a lot of time wanting to to land some pointy remarks, and probably poke a few pointy sticks, with the members of Griff’s family. I saw red every time one of them opened their mouth.
The crisis moment was low angst for the MCs, though it looked like it was going to be worse which would have really annoyed me. The big blowup scene was a great culmination of everything that had been coming throughout the book. The ending was sweet.
This was a quick, light read. Good for when you aren’t in the mood for lots of angst or heavy drama.
**I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion.**
This book reminded me of a Hallmark movie in the best way.
Dill and Griffin seemed doomed from the start. I really wanted them to work but damn, it was going to take a miracle to see them get their hea..
I loved Dill’s family. Griff’s, not so much..
I enjoyed this wedding themed insta love story. It has a bit of sweet, a bit of snark, family – the good and bad kind, friendship, honor and trust.
I look forward to the rest of the series.
Dill and Griff meet up on Grindr for a hook up. Dill just wants to get off, but Griff is tired of being in the closet, he is looking for more. They have an instant connection. The next day they meet again when Griff arrives for his tux fitting, he is the best man in his brother’s wedding. Oops. Dill is the wedding planner for the wedding. This was a fast-moving story; the pace was good, and story was well written. Lots of steamy times. The side characters and family really helped to make the story.
I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This new to me author did not disappoint.
The Best brothers run a wedding planning service and Dill Best is their Wedding Planner/Coordinator.
The Best Men have a few rules, but the first and most important rule is don’t get involved with the wedding party…that is until Dill sees his last night hook-up walk through the door of his brother’s tailor shop.
Griff is straight.. at least that’s what his family believes. Griff has always known that he prefers guys, but never had the nerve to explore his sexuality. What are the chances that his first hook-up is his brother’s wedding planner?
There are a few plots, twist and turns in this story that makes for an entertaining read.
Best Laid Plans is the first in a fun, easy to read series that’s full of banter, quick-wit and heated sexual tension.
If you looking for an enjoyable read, you can’t go wrong with Best Laid Plans.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
