“Hell is empty and all the devils are here.” ~William Shakespeare
Violet Parker knows better than to play with devils. They always cheat, especially when lives are at stake. Deadwood’s charming, troublemaking, and soul-sucking devils are no different, and they’re biting at her heels.
But the clock is ticking and Violet has no choice—she must risk her life to save her treasured Aunt Zoe. With any … Aunt Zoe. With any luck, she might be able to trick the devils and beat the old terrors at their own game. If not, Deadwood could end up short one Executioner.

I love this series so much and the newest book did not disappoint! My emotions were all over the board with this one – one minute I was laughing out loud and the next anxious and scared for Violet and her posse. I so enjoyed the further development of some of my favorite characters as well. I forced myself to take my time reading it as I just new I would be left begging for more story! I cannot wait for the next book!!
Violet Parker and her gang are back to fight evil in the Black Hills. This series is absolutely addictive with the story lines, characters, romances, and laugh out loud humor. Nothing is simple as Violet’s supernatural “allies” are not purely good nor wholly to be relied on. Not particularly trustworthy either. On the other hand her human allies are growing in number and rising to the growing number of challenges. As one character points out, Violet is becoming stronger and so are her friends as they band together to fight the monsters once more.
This series just keeps getting better and better. As the plot thickens, more answers and more questions come to light. Can’t get enough of Violet, Doc, and the rest of the gang in Deadwood. As usual, lots of laughs, romance, and creepy ghosts!
Mystery, comedy, romance, ancient monsters that must be slain…what not to love? Ann Charles is awesome.
The new year revelry is over and it’s time to get back to work in the Black Hills…and time is running out for Violet to take care of one pesky devil in order to keep her beloved Aunt Zoe from the clutches of another. But as the hunt begins a few new twists and turns are thrown at her and her duties as an executioner pile higher.
From page one, this book just takes off and the hits just keep coming. There is enough devilry to keep your heart pumping but handed out with enough humor to tickle your funny bone with some laugh out loud moments, and enough heart to keep those strings strumming. Also, be ready for a few nail-biting and even some “AWW” inspiring moments, and let’s not forget the sizzle. This book really does have it all. What a fantastic addition to an already amazing series! And Ann, I sure am glad it’s only The End..for now.
