Liam a retired police officer who has found a new lease on life growing roses by the sea away from the city, never expecting to find his own special sunshine, let alone him moving in next door. Felix a movie star who had been working since he was a child, was at the point in his career where it could take off in an instant and he needed a break, so he bought a house along the shore, it was the perfect place to getaway and to spend some time putting his life back into perspective, never expecting to meet the man of his dreams living next door. So together they discover that a grumpy bear of a man and a little stinker of a boy might be just the right combination to find a love together that could last forever.
Felix is a movie star who’s taking a break. He bought a house and a dog.
He got one neighbor, a beautiful, big grumpy of a man, Liam, who despises everything Felix does.
Felix much younger and quite playful and optimistic can’t stop poking him. Liam doesn’t want to talk or have any interaction. Until he understands what Felix is really asking for, to be disciplined. Thát can Liam do.
Not quite the way Felix hoped for, but he will do everything strict Liam asks for.
Their Daddy boy connection is full of longing and lust and disciplinary action. While they have the most amazing experience together, Felix’s next script is just around the corner. Liam doesn’t want to hold him back but his heartache.
The first word that pops up here is sweet, then fun, then sexy, then kind, caring, and loving.
Wonderfully and captivatingly written narrative. With the most provocative boy and grumpy but patient Daddy. The story has a delightful positive vibe.
Of course they have their hea.
For the most part, A Boy Made of Sunshine was charmingly light and funny. The beginning, in particular, was hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing at Liam’s irritation every time Felix got into his space or was purposely mischievous, irreverent and bratty. Liam was like a hedgehog, protecting his privacy and isolation, until Felix proved to be what the retired detective really needed in his life: the perfect boy to take care of, or to punish if need arised. And Felix, he’d never expected that moving to his new house would eventually mean finding someone to belong to and a home.
As always with this amazing author, this story is incredible. Felix and Liam’s romance combines explosive chemistry, raw need, sensuality and a heart-warming emotional depth. I loved everything about it: all the feelings, the laughs, the sexiness. Absolutely recommended.
This is both anew author and narrator for me. I am very satisfied with both. This is a light tale where love grows and decisions are made that end with a HEA.
Felix needs a daddy
A lovely fluffy book, one that makes you smile.
Felix is an actor, a young, bright, happy sunshine person, with a new Dalmatian puppy.
Liam is a retired grumpy police detective.
The two on paper do not work. So will they work as neighbours?
Felix buys the house next to Liam and begins a daily ritual of annoying his new grumpy neighbour.
This is a great, well-written book, set on the coast of England.
A must-read if you want something that’s not too taxing but well written. All the happy feels.
Dan Calley does an incredible job of the narration, easy to listen to.
I just finished boy made of sunshine by Colette Davison and absolutely loved felix and his grumpy bear Dom, Liam. This was such a sweet story and the perfect light and fluffy read if you enjoy daddy kink and age gap MM romance. There were a few moments where I bursted out laughing too and this book just made me smile pretty much all the way through. Also there’s mention a cute fluffy dalmatian named domino and who doesn’t love when stories include adorable pets in them?
Felix needed a break from his crazy life of being an actor, he moves to the quiet country side next to a quiet, grumpy guy he can’t help but drive crazy but Liam doesn’t want to admit the annoying younger guy also fill his heart with joy and sunshine. Loved loved this book!
RATING 3.5 STARS
A Boy Made of Sunshine, by Colette Davison, is a stand alone, M/M, age gap, daddy kink romance with little to no angst. This is my very first book by this author.
Felix Lee is twenty five years old. He’s been acting since he was a young boy and he’s just tired. He wants some time off. So he purchases his first home, a small house in a quiet village outside of London. For companionship he buys himself an adorable Dalmatian puppy. Felix is out and proud. He has no reservations about who he is. He is also persistently cheerful. So when he meets his new grumpy neighbor, he sees it as a challenge.
Liam Gladstone was a detective in London but the darkness of his job, always seeing the worst of the world, got to him, so he took an early retirement and bought a nice quiet home. He spends his days tending his roses and living a peaceful life alone. Liam’s exact age isn’t given but it’s hinted that he is somewhere in his mid forties. So there is an approximate twenty year age difference between he and Felix.
“Liam was one gorgeously grumpy guy. He’d need to come up with an excuse to pop round and talk to his neighbour again very soon.”
When Felix came to Liam’s door to introduce himself with his cheerful smile and outgoing ways, Liam was afraid his days of peace and quiet were over. It was obvious that Felix needed to be taught some lessons, patience, how to behave, and Liam was just the person to teach him.
“He was nothing but sweetness and light, wrapped up in a sassy and often exhausting bundle.”
Felix can’t seem to stop himself. He loves antagonizing Liam. Once he figures out that Liam is a Dom, he enjoys it even more. Because he also enjoys the punishments Liam doles out.
This was really just a very steamy, fun book. The story mostly just focuses on these two. There really aren’t any secondary characters that are of much importance. Felix is silly and spontaneous and Liam is a grumpy bear (Felix’s favorite name for him.) If you enjoy daddy kink, then you will definitely enjoy this.
Oh my gosh!! I loved Liam and Felix!! Liam was a retired constable and a total grumpy bear. Felix was a young man who was at a crossroads with his life. He moves next door to Liam and starts to taunt him. This was an excellent age gap romance. They were perfect for each other!! I loved little snarky Felix. He needed Daddy Liam to take charge and help focus him. It was so good, highly recommend!

Audiobook review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I loved the book and I loved the audio.
I really enjoyed this book when I read it when it was first released back in June 2020. Dan Calley’s great performance allowed me to enjoy it even more the second time around when I listened to the audiobook. I admit that it took me a few books to get used to his accent (US gal here LOL) but once I did (several books ago) I became a fan.
There’s not much else I can add to what I said when I reviewed the book (see below).
A little bit kinky but so sweet!
Daddy/boy stories haven’t been among my favorites but I seem to have been reviewing a lot of them lately and they are growing on me. A Boy Made of Sunshine is one that I really enjoyed. It’s an age-gap story as well as a daddy kink one. I thought the writing was excellent and I loved that the author didn’t keep harping on the age difference between the two MCs.
There is so much humor and cuteness in this book that it kept me smiling the whole time I read it. Among the lightness there are a few pretty heavy spanking scenes. There’s no issue with consent, it’s given freely, but the spankings got just a bit intense for me in a couple of places. It wasn’t enough to make me want to stop reading, but it’s something to be aware of if this is a trigger for you.
I loved the way that Felix kept goading Liam, know full well that his behavior was bratty and would likely end up with him being punished – but that was usually what he was after. Liam is determined to teach Felix patience but it ends up becoming an exercise in patience for him as well because he wants Felix so much and the waiting is killing him.
I can’t forget to mention the cute Dalmatian puppy that Felix has. Liam acts like he doesn’t like the puppy but we soon learn that just the opposite is true; he falls for the dog just as much as he falls for Felix.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I loved this book. The two main characters sassy as sunshine Felix and the grumpy bear Liam, are well thought out well written. Actor Felix is the new neighbour. He’s a boy who needs a daddy, needs rules, needs to learn patience, he’s hoping that being a naughty boy with his exploits will get him what he wants, maybe Liam will be the Daddy he needs, giving him the punishments and rules he needs. The book is funny, light hearted and a very joyful read.
This book is adorable. Felix is happiness, sunshine and full of energy. Liam is cranky, and longs for the peace he’s used to, to last. This book has had me laughing so hard. I enjoyed the chemistry and the teasing. The characters truly come to life in this book. I simply loved it!
Felix has been an actor since he was a kid, he’s now twenty five and he decides to take a break from acting so he buys a house at the countryside.
Liam used to be a Detective but he took an early retirement and is now enjoying a quiet life. When Felix moves to the house next door everything changes.
Liam is a grumpy man who has seen the worst of humanity and Felix is a sassy, happy man. They seem completely opposite but they fit together perfectly. Felix brings sunshine and joy in Liam’s life and Liam is just so caring towards Felix. They balance each other beautifully. This book made me smile it was so cheerful and funny. The main characters had wonderful chemistry and I loved reading their story. Age gap is one of my favorite tropes in romance and it was so well done in this book. And the puppy, Domino, was just adorable.
