Helen Hardt never fails to bring us the most heart beating, fists pounding and mind racing books. That’s what keeps me coming back for more and more and more.
This is definitely a 5 star read and comes highly recommended.
Start with Rebel: Wolfes of Manhattan book 1
Another fantastic read by Helen Hardt. I think Roy is my favorite Wolfe so far. That epilogue had me itching to get the next book. Sounds like it could be a dark one.
After devouring Rebel, I was so excited about Recluse and Roy’s story and Helen Hardt did not disappoint! I thought Rebel was intense… Well this just upped it a couple more notches!
I am in love with this new series.
Book two focuses on Roy Wolfe and Charlie. Roy is an artist, introvert. he is tormented by a past he can’t remember. He meets Charlie when he notices her checking out his art. The two hit it off pretty fast. But Roy isn’t used to this whole relationship thing and he’s doing anything he can to push Charlie away. But charlie sees something in Roy and she wants nothing more than to fix him, to help him overcome whatever it is that is troubling him. But the thing is, he doesn’t even know what is troubling him. He has a deep-seated past that Charlie and himself need to find out answers to. After Derek Wolfe, his father’s death secrets are starting to surface, and even though we are getting some answers to things, so many more questions are being placed into the situation. Will Charlie be able to help uncover the things that haunt Roy?
Even though Roy is the one harboring secrets, he is breaking down a wall that Charlie has up. She also has hidden secrets. Will they be exposed? She wants nothing more than to help Roy and she is willing to do whatever it takes!
I loved this. I loved everything about Charlie as a heroine, I’d have to say she is one of my favorites when it comes to this author
And Roy? What was haunting him was dark and hidden within his subconscious. I could tell he struggled. He was mysterious from the start.. I loved that I was second guessing everything about his guy! I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Now, these two together? The passion and heat was evident and the chemistry between them was high. Both struggled with a past. They balanced each other out perfectly.
Gah, I am so engrossed in this series so far. Completely addicted. I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for the rest of the series!
This was another amazing installment in Helen Hardt’s new series Wolfes of Manhattan. It was full of mystery, suspense, laced with passion, and heat. From start to finished I was completely spellbound and couldn’t put it down.
Another MUST READ by this author!
5 Stars!
Letting go to move forward…
Roy Wolfe is the middle son. The artistic one, the quiet one. The loner. He is being tormented by a secret from years ago. He does not have the key to release his constant torment. For all of these reasons he does not get involved with anyone, especially a long term relationship with a woman. That all changes when he meets Charlie Waters.
Charlie is the Executive Assistant to Special Counsel to the CEO, Lacey Wolfe. Lacey is now wife to Rock Wolfe, CEO of Wolf Enterprises. Roy was fascinated with Charlie when he sees her admiring his artwork in the lobby of Wolfe Tower. Charlie herself was also captivated by Roy. He is physically beautiful for a man, but she sees much more in his dark eyes. She sees suffering and pain.
With all the Wolfe clan suspects in their father’s death, emotions are high to find out who killed their father. Roy is at a critical point with all the turmoil surrounding him. He needs to find out what he has buried deep inside him. He feels it may be connected to his father’s death. He finds himself getting closer to Charlie as she gives him a peace when she is around him. He is hoping with Charlie’s help he can figure out the deep seeded secrets he has buried and come out on the other side of his agonizing struggle. I look forward to finding out answers to the many questions in the next book of this series.
I have to say now that I have read Recluse I think Roy is my favorite. What is not to love about him? He is artistic, quiet and holds some dark secrets that he may not be able to let go of. I think what I love most about him though is his creative side and they way he reveals his darkest secrets within his work. It would take a special eye to notice these fine details he exhibits.
Recluse is definitely one wild ride surrounded by a huge mystery. You will start to really see all of the dark layers of Derek Wolfe. If you hated him before, just wait!
Charlie is also amazing. She is also very artistic, however, she is not as quick to show her work. She also holds some secrets of her own. She is instantly attracted to Roy. I mean who would not be? She definitely has a deeper understanding of him through her own creativity and her desires to help him. Can she let go and be what he needs? Is he what she needs to breakdown her dark secrets?
This is an amazing book that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.
Another mysterious, intense and tormented hero and heroine story by the amazing Helen Hardt! I loved Rebel, the first book of the Wolfes of Manhattan series, and Recluse did not disappoint! We have two characters that are broken, and each wants to do whatever it takes to break down those walls and fix each other. But each harbors dark secrets that haunt them and could make or break this heated and passionate relationship. This book left me with more questions but I can’t wait for the next book in this exciting new series!
Another beautifully written piece of art. Helen’s books keep me clued to my seat not wanting to put them down and then sad when it ends. The suspense along with the love story makes hers the most enjoyable reads I have.
Helen Hardt has really created some special in The Wolfes of Manhattan series. It’s suspenseful, intriguing, mysterious and dark and filled with fabulous, complex characters. The insidiously vile nature of the murdered Derek Wolfe is revealed piece by piece as his children go about trying to discover who the killer is.
Roy Wolfe is an extraordinarily talented artist, definitely an introvert and a man with a secret that’s buried so deep inside him that it may never surface. Charlie Waters’ first meeting with Roy is very telling since she had no idea, other than the fact he was the most beautiful man she’d seen, who he was. She seems to see into a part of him that no one else ever has. Roy is completely captivated by Charlie’s beautiful silver eyes and the woman behind them. The more time they spend together the more he knows Charlie is necessary to his very being.
This is Book 2 of The Wolfes of Manhattan.
This is the story of Roy & Charlie. Roy is a recluse. He holds a secret since childhood, and it is getting to him. Charlie is starting her new job at Wolfe Enterprises. The Wolfe’s are trying to solve a mystery. Two of the brothers reveal a secret they’ve held for far too long. One remembers, and one needed help to remember. Things come to light as they try to solve this mystery. Roy and Charlie have electricity between them. Yes, it is a happy ending with them, but the mystery is yet to be solved, and yes the end is somewhat of a cliffhanger. This is not finished. This is a great story with a terrific story line. Helen Hardt always writes the best stories and series. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series.
