Alec: Lumen is amazing. She brings out the playful, relaxed side of me, but fate doesn’t seem to agree we belong together. And now, my ex pops back into my life and wants to make a go of it again so our daughter can have a real family. I’m torn between what’s best for my daughter or following my feelings for Lumen.Lumen: Just when our relationship was going great, Alec basically blows me off the … me off the minute his ex is back in town. He texted that he needs a break while he figures out what’s going on with his family. And to add fuel to the fire, someone told my principal about the massage parlor job I had before I started teaching, like it was something illegal. Who else knew about that job but Alec? I’m crushed. This is why I don’t do relationships.
Third-grade teacher Lumen Browne and multi-billionaire CEO Alec McCrae are an unlikely couple, but they’re willing to defy the odds. As they struggle to fit into each other’s lives, they must decide if they’re willing to fight for their love…or walk away.
Don’t miss Breaking Rules, the second book in The Scottish Billionaire, M. S. Parker’s latest romance series.

I really enjoyed this second part of Alec and Lumens story. I immediate got involved with their continuing journey and the challenges they have to face to balance their work and personal lives.
Great sexy and emotional read.

Another great addition to a story i’m really enjoying. This book was full of drama, and was a story that you start reading and can’t put down.
Alec and Lumen are back for the next installment of this series. You will need to read book one (and I also recommend the prequel) before starting this one or you will be so lost. It is not a standalone so shouldn’t be treated as such.
Just when we thought we got out happy ending with Alex and Lumen Keli pops back into the picture. If you read the prequel, you already know that Keli and Alec May have made the perfect daughter together but they don’t belong together. Of course Alec pushes Lumen away though thinking he’s doing what’s best for Evanne. I never understand why characters make these decisions, if they are miserable so will their children.
Throw in manipulation and enough drama to make you want to rip your hair out and you have this story.
I received an advanced copy of this book through BookSprout and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
What ended on a good note from the previous book, brings heartache in the next as Alec and Lumen’s story continue with more drama. The plot takes a turn as Keli, mom to Evanne decides she want back in. I loved how the author takes this step in showing not everything is roses between Alec and Lumen which makes for a relatable storyline. I enjoyed the ending of this second book and can’t wait to see if they truly will have a HEA.
Alec and Lumen’s story continues in Breaking Rules. It’s not a standalone. Keli is back and she wants her family together. Alec wants what’s best for Evanne and will put her infront of his own needs.
What a fantastic read! I couldn’t put it down until I was done. The storyline flows seamlessly and the writing will suck you into the story. Told in both Alec and Lumen’s POV.
Ends in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the conclusion.
And the plot thickens! Mama Keli is back and not exactly in her best behavior. She is as frustrating as ever! And Alec, although a good man and great father, still needs to learn how to manage a relationship other than like a business transaction. He should know better from previous experience with Keli that if he doesn’t nip it in the bud, it will become a major problem later on. He thinks he is in control, but there is more to come. If a woman scorned can be a she devil herself, imagine a selfish jealous one on top of it. Not even putting their daughter first, has been an excuse to avoid disaster. But even with some disappointing characters the author always delivers some delicious heat up sexy scenes. And still, Lumen manages to be the calm and mature constant that everyone that matters need.
This is the second installment of this series, and the plot thickens. Lumen is still Evanne’s teacher but Alec is smitten nonetheless.
Then Keli comes back and “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. What is wrong with that woman, just reappearing out of thin air trying to wiggle back in to the family?
This is an intriguing and engrossing story that captivated me from the very beginning, and I can hardly wait for the next sequel.

This story was fantastic. As always, MS Parker takes me on a roller coaster of happiness but this is only the second of a 3 book series. I love the characters and I find it refreshing to see that it’s the man who holds family values close to his heart.
What will happen next? Can past hurts and current jealousy cause an end? Fingers crossed for the perfect epilogue!
I found this book frustrating and Alec seemed so cold toward Lumen and she was so undeserving of the way she has been treated. I understand wanting to do the best for your child but not at anyone else’s expense and Lumen deserves so much better. Kelli along with the vice principal need to get there comeuppance soon or I will find it hard to keep reading. The ending holds hope for the last book and Alec’s confession redeemed him somewhat but only if he delivers on everything.
