Before I know it, Katrina Novak has stolen my heart. She’s a sweet, smart, brave little thief of hearts, working her way out of a broken past.

Kat
The gorgeous cowboy in the truck stop was a bad mark.
But I’d never make it to my second chance without a little more gas, and my hands ached to touch him.
It’s a stolen moment with a perfect man.
And I can’t bring myself to regret bumping into him, even if I feel sick about picking his pocket.
I never expected to see him again, much less at my new job, but it doesn’t take more than a minute for me to fall head over heels.
Emmet Behr is the strongest, hunkiest, most protective man I’ve ever met.
An ex-soldier who’s tamed his demons and learned to live at peace.
I can see a future with Emmet.
A future I’d thought I’d lost.
All I have to do is steal one more thing… his heart.
♥Short enough to read in one sitting and long enough to satisfy, this trope-tastic, over-the-top little dual POV, standalone novella is sweet, steamy, and full of old-fashioned cowboy nobility and goodness. The love is insta, and the ending is HEA guaranteed. *Note: the stories in this series are spicier than those in the Real Good Men of Oklahoma series.*

Finding a home and love at Birdie’s Nest for one little chick and an old rooster
If I could give this book 10 Stars I would!
Once again Daisy Gold has blown me away with just how much emotion she can pack into a novella. The Heart Thief is the fifth book in the Real Good Men of Arkansas series and is the story of Emmet “Emmie” Behr and Katrina “Kat” Novak.
Emmet is in his forties and works with his older brother Oscar “Ozzie” and his wife Birdie at Birdie’s Nest, a camp in the mountains. Birdie has turned it into “the most popular, redneck-elite campground in three states.” They have a campground, cabins, horses, hiking, a restaurant and more. Emmet built a cabin on the property and is good there as he can work out his own demons in peace.
Kat is twenty-three years old and the last several years have been hard. Her father had served with Oscar and had also had a few encounters with Emmet while they were all overseas in combat. Kat had lived with her father in Florida for a few years until one day she came home to find him dead by suicide when she was seventeen. After that instead of going to live with her mother in NYC she got involved with a man who taught her how to steal, grift and con. A couple of years ago Oscar went to Florida to find her as she had disappeared. When he found her in Miami she tried to run a con on him but he was not having it and instead gave her two choices – leave with him or leave with the cops, that is after he kicked the stuffing out of her boyfriend and a couple other guys that were in the apartment. She took the right one and left with Oscar. He took her up to Pensacola where he got her set up in an apartment and helped her access her Dad’s survivor benefits. Then a deal was made between them so that she would get her education and he would pay for tuition and rent, plus she had to stay away from her old friends. Now she is on her way to Birdie’s Nest because there is a job waiting for her as a cook in the restaurant.
Emmet and Kat have an “interesting” first encounter at a truck stop. When she bumps into him inside the store all he can say is “Snow White” because she is like magic with her read tank top, full lips, dark eye and darker hair. But this is no fairy tale which Emmet is about to find out. But like in fairy tales our Snow White slips away without a trace but he does find her a bit later, or really she drives up the next morning.
I loved this story and it gave me all the feels that I could handle, and then some. The characters, both Kat and Emmie and all the supporting characters also, are wonderfully written with expansive histories that intertwine in ways that you don’t expect but that just make sense organically. There is a family at Birdie’s Nest that rally around and look after each other. Well there is one who is not nice at all that I wanted to boot up the backside more than a few times but her ending was good, no she does not die but she does get the boot. A definite Recommend Read!!!
Loved.Emmet and Kat
Emmet Behr, late 30s, works with his decade older brother, Oscar and his wife, at their family campground in the Arkansas mountains. Emmet and Oscar both served in the military. Both have their own way to deal with the scars left behind on their heart and souls.
Katrina, Kat, Novak, at 23, life has not been easy. She lost her beloved veteran father at 17, and then lost herself in her grief. Until her father’s best friend Oscar came looking for her. She has worked hard to put her life together. She isn’t there yet. Oscar has hired her to work at the campground. She is hoping that this will be the start of a better life.
Emmet and Kat’s first meeting, ends in a theft. Their second meeting, remorse, understanding and attraction. Unexpected roommates. Emmet and Kat quickly fall for each other. Kat has a lot of self doubts. Emmet is waiting for her to to see in herself what he sees in her.
A bitter sweet, steamy older man younger women romance. Loved Emmet and Oscar.
I liked this one a lot! It was a really sweet story. I loved Emmett and Kat! They were great together. Kat was a strong female character and that’s always nice to see.

Kat needs a little more gas to get where she’s going, so she picks a random guy’s pocket at the gas stop. What the heck – she’ll never see him again. Emmet and Oscar are headed home. The new cook will be there tomorrow. She’s the daughter of Oscar’s military buddy. She’s the young woman who picked Emmet’s pocket. Oops! I love Kat, strong, talented, beautiful, a terrific cook. Emmet – what can I say about him – he decides not to go after Kat for her little stunt, but he’d like for her to be his. Oscar threatens him to behave himself, but eventually the pull between Kat and Emmet becomes too strong. Traci is just a bully, feeling threatened by Kat’s presence and talents, still convinced that there’s something there between her and Emmet. Oscar’s wife, Birdie – do not mess with her. She takes care of her own, and that includes Kat now. This is a wonderful addition to this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Kat and Emmet have an interesting first meeting and I thought it was a great start to their story. I felt for Kat because she had been through a lot but still wanted to be better and make things work. I also loved that Emmet spent time writing in his hammock. Emmet and Kat were great together and I am glad they got their happy ending.
I received an ARC and am leaving my honest and voluntary review.
A wonderfully romantic story where Katrina, after a life of bad luck, gets her chance at happiness. She would almost ruin this by pickpocketing her savior’s brother. However, Emmet is impressed with her the moment he sees her, even when he realizes that she stole money from him. But with that also his heart.
Nice story, easy to read

This story is different than Daisy’s others proving again how talented she is as a writer. I enjoyed the lust at first sight aspect of this tale and the steamy scenes it yielded.

In this book we meet Katrina “Kat” Novak and Emmet Behr. Emmet and his brother Oscar are on their way home from purchasing a new horse. On the way Oscar tells his brother to go into the gas station/ restaurant and get him pork rinds. While in there he feels like something is coming he just doesn’t know what. He soon finds out and the only thought is Snow White. He later finds out this is the daughter of a man both he and his brother served with. No what his brother might say to him he knows this woman has to be his. Kat has had nothing but trouble in her life. She has gone through the separation and later divorce of her parents, neither really wanting to be there for her it feels like. To finding her father dead in his bedroom and becoming homeless. To meeting up with the wrong guy and having Oscar have to come save her. So when she comes to be the new chef in the campgrounds it is a whole new world of trouble. She really hopes that she can have something with Emmet though since he’s the first good thing she’s felt like she could have in a long time. Will these two get there HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?
This is another amazing story in this series. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.

Pick pocketed and stole his heart! When you are a survivor, you do even what is wrong. This story is about Emmet and Kat. Oscar and Emmet are brothers and are on their way back home when they stop by to get gas and yummy chicharron (even if Emmet doesn’t like it)! While inside the story Emmet is bumped into a woman that takes his breath away in which all he says is Snow White…. While Emmet and Oscar are on their way to go, Oscar realizes that he needs a drink and asks Emmet for his change but that is when he realize that Snow White just pick pocketed him. He then meets his pick pocketer once again as she is Kat, Oscar’s BFF’s daughter, who Oscar asked to come down to work in the diner they have in their property. Well poor Kat is in for a treat as Traci is there too and she notices how Emmet is looking at Kat… The story is good, and I would love some chocolate gravy!

The best book ever!. Kat needed space. She’s had a rough life. And she doesn’t know how to ask for help unless her back is up against the wall and even then she doesn’t ask. But she’s willing to help everyone else if need be. Polar opposite of what you would expect. So when she pickpockets Emmett at the truckstop and only gets $14 which is enough to get her to her Destination. she swears it’s the last time it’ll happen again. But the problem is is that she watched Emmett in the parking lot when he realize he’s been pickpocketed to see if he can catcher. He’s instantly attracted to her when she “bumped into him “. He is only says snow white. From there she hast to come to terms with her past her present and her unknown future. Love the characters and it is definitely the blatant night in shining armor but I have to take a pause for the cause to be asked to help for Damsel the damsel in distress. But the meantime there attraction for each other is worth the wait. No cliffhanger. There’s actually a true villain in the story. can’t wait to see if this one has an extended epilogue in another book!

Emmet is a cowboy with a good heart and Kat is a woman with a past. They make the perfect romance story.

Lovely book about redemption. Emmet does what he has to heal from the war. Kat needs it from mistakes she made while young – and who hasn’t? We have another woman who thinks she knows better than anyone and keeps sticking her nose into Kat’s business. One of those you just want to… slap. Hard. The way that Emmet respects Kat and her independence makes me go all gooey inside. The way the characters interact really adds to the depth of the story. This is one of those books you’ll want to read over and over again.
