Will their wounded hearts keep them apart?
Lorelei Sanford has struggled to be as good as everyone else her entire life but the limp she was born with causes everyone to pity and make fun of her. She travels to Idaho to visit her best friend and perhaps stay there with the hope of finding love and a new life. Jake Colby cannot stop thinking about his sister-in-law’s best friend but he has already been responsible for the death of one woman and cannot trust himself to love another one.
I enjoy stories with a strong leading lady and Lorelei is the image of strength and the will to overcome. Jake and Lorelei deserved to find happiness and I was rooting for them through the entire story. What a wonderful story!
When Jake Colby loses his great love he doesn’t think he can love again. When his sister in laws friend Lorelei Sandford, comes for another visit he remembers how beautiful she is and feels protective over her. You’ll enjoy this sweet historical read about healing and love.
Lorilei is a young woman with a limp that has caused people to make fun of her her whole life. She goes to visit her best friend Marianne. She hasn’t seen her in 3 yrs and is excited to see her friends son. Excitement fills her when she sees Jake again, her friends brother in law. Jake is still trying to get over the loss of his fiancé who died in a tragic accident 3 yrs ago.
I really enjoyed watching Lorelei’s friendship with Marianne and her new friendship with Eliza and her deaf son Simon who she met at the train station. Lorelei and Jakes relationship slowly turns to love with both having their own struggles to get through first before they can start a relationship. There is plenty of drama with an evil and jealous neighbor who blames Jake for everything that has gone wrong in his life. I really enjoyed this book!
Three and a half stars. Lorelei is a young woman with a limp. Her character flips back and forth between being a sweet girl with a sense of humor and suffering from thinking everyone is mocking her. Jake is a young man consumed with guilt over the death of his fiancee. He is also short tempered and it confuses her because she doesn’t understand why he gets so angry. In the end, they both realize they need to be open and honest with each other. Some parts of the story are not very realistic but it fits into keeping the story moving, making up for the slow parts.
I received a free copy of this book from the author through Amazon and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
What a wonderful story. The characters are different than in other stories, which is what makes this book so alluring. Lots of action, sudden changes. It just draws you into the story. I recommend this book. I received this book as gift in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book! A crippled girl went west to visit her friend and fell in love with her friends’ brother in law. A lot of things happen to keep the story interesting and happily ever after finally comes around! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys western stories!
