Wales is a mysterious country that teems with fae folk of all kinds as Ebrel is finding out. In Misty Valley, she is practicing her magic with mentor/uncle Io when she gets the hiccups. Only these magic hiccups freeze everyone she was around including her snarky pwca/cat familiar, Punkin. Once things are put right by her BFF, Elain, and they retire to Mystic Brew, the coffee shop Ebrel runs with her Aunt Rhosyn (Rose), Ebrel finds out she has ‘wibbly wobblies’, the magic equivalent to puberty without the acne. With her powers limited for everyone’s safety, she wonders how she will help a Redcoat ghost asking for her help. To make matters worse, several real estate developers she met from her time in the U.S. with her dad are scouting the Valley for deals. Included is her ‘uncle’ Logan who looked out for her when she was young.
Seems the needy ghost is Nathan Trimbolt who was murdered soon after he succeeded his father. His crumbling estate near the Dark Mire is his prison. He cursed himself accidently and can’t leave the grounds until he discovers his 200+ year old murderer. Rumours of ‘Trimbolt’s Treasure’ have been around for centuries but someone is taking it seriously enough to kill. With her powers limited and little information about what’s going on with some of the shady real estate agents, Ebrel finds she must use her brains as well as her limited magic. Fortunately, she has her family and friends to back her up with magic but she must figure who is murdering and why. There’s a twist in this adventure that I didn’t see coming.
This series is well worth the read. Even if paranormal cosies aren’t your thing, the mysteries are puzzling enough to savour the stories. I recommend reading them from the beginning book. You will be more than pleasantly hooked on The Welsh Witch.

Whats not to love? (especially Punkin but don’t tell him his ego is big enough!)
This is such a well written story, the world and character building is very clever, with red herrings and clues dribbled throughout in a very subtle way, it makes for an exciting plot with edge of the seat reading. I cannot recommend this series enough, each book introduces us as well as Ebrel a little more into the world of the Fae. I am rooting for Ebrel all the time, she is funny and clever and just takes everything in her stride, but she is not a walk over, she can hold her own with her delightful pwka Punkin with the best of them, (Just best not to mention Pierre in front of Punkin he gets a little… territorial! )
April, or rather Ebrel as she is known in her little corner of Wales, is really settling in to Misty Valley she is working hard in the coffee shop/cafe she runs with her Aunt Rose and on learning her emerging magic .
She has a great group of friends around her, as well as Aunt Rose and Uncle Iowarth (Edward in English) there is also her room-mate and friend Elain and her brother Neirin (who are the “Deadly Duo” who work for MI-13 on behalf of Ebrel’s other Aunt, Her Grace, the Queen of the Fae they work as Agents to keep the peace in the Fae realm. trained in about every martial art known to man (and a good few that aren’t)
Ebrel is training with her Uncle when she has an unusual hiccup mid spell causing a huge spike, far from being a one off it seems she is going through something called the “wibbly wobblies” something all teenage Fae Witches experience , but it means until she can get control of her magic she has to wear an inhibitor, it doesn’t stop her from seeing ghosts though just inhibates the power used for magic till she can gain control.
There is a lot going on, progression with the Dewsberry Memorial Grand Prix is bringing changes to the valley, and with it comes, developers, some who know her her dad including one very familiar face to Ebrel and with him a surprise.
With the ghost of Sir Nathan Trumbolt, Sir Nathan died suspiciously when he returned to Trimbolt Manor in the 19th Century and cursed himself to remain on the property until the mystery of his fathers death was solved, requiring her help. Developers tromping all around the valley, Ghostly Hounds being seen in the Marsh her Aunt Rose off to Australia to close a Demon Gate AND a case of the wobblies, Ebrel is doing everything she can but it will it be enough?
Can she solve the mystery Of both the Trumbolt’s deaths, and find the trimbolt Treasure?
