She’s lost everything—her throne, her home, and nearly her life. But her people still need her. When Kalleah flees for her life, leaving the throne to her enemy, she’s not about to go into hiding. Her country is in trouble. Itrea’s oldest enemy is back, poised to conquer the country that long defied them, and no one else realizes it. Unless Kalleah can raise an army of her own, her country will … army of her own, her country will be taken without a fight.
Larkhaven is where she will bide her time and gather support—but the coastal city is not the safe retreat she expects. Enemies have overrun Larkhaven, and they are silencing all who speak out against them.
If Kalleah is to save her country, she must start with reclaiming Larkhaven.
But her time is running out.
Enemy reinforcements are on their way, and as soon as they arrive, the city is lost.
War is coming, and Itrea is poised to fall. The chances of success are too slim—Kalleah’s people are badly outnumbered and untrained.
But Kalleah will not give up without a fight.

Woah! After the last book’s ending, I was anxious to get back to Kalleah’s story. She survived execution and her people think she’s dead but now her, and the small rag tag team of those traveling with her, have to figure out a way to get support and fight the Truthbringers. Who have a more mysterious origin than anyone realized. Kalleah makes some key allies but there’s always something that goes wrong. One step forward and two steps back. Even better, Leoth wants to make amends but does he even mean it or is it yet another trick?! Can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book!
If i should be honest this book the 3th one from the series its my favourite one! It have so much twist, hard decision obstacles u can easily find yourself in all of the struggles of the main character it shows u with details every inner fight and personal weakness and how u develope your mind in the most hard moments. Its really inspiring! I cant wait to finish the next book in the series cause till now that author become my favourite one! I dont wanna sound mean but most of the books on the market cant compaire with the way and the dept of details in this story u feel like u are part of it totally!
Can the Band of Renegades Succeed?
In this third installment of the wonderfully written epic fantasy series, our Queen is fleeing to another city hoping to regroup and find support so she can take down her enemies in Baylore. The first couple of scenes, before she even gets to what she hopes will be a safe haven, are fraught with tension and danger that draws you right into the story. It’s one thing after the other, and it doesn’t let up! But, oh, what a ride! The town she was heading for is not all she’d hoped; it seems under the firm grasp of the Truthbringers, who seem to be strengthening their position. Will she succeed and gather the support she needs to help good win over evil? She and her companions certainly do not have an easy road in front of them. I really like the band of renegades who are trying to do what is right, even if it seems like the odds are stacked against them. I’m very much looking forward to the next book of the series to see how their fates play out.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A must-read by this author!
This third book in an incredible series grabs you from page one and never lets you go!
If you want fast paced action from beginning to end this is the series for you! This third book in the series does not disappoint! With incredibly descriptive writing, you are visually brought into the action and excitement in the movie in your mind! When Kalleah escapes from her realm, leaving her country to the enemy, she doesn’t just hide away. She needs to save her people and manages to get to Larkhaven to find supporters and build an army even though the enemy had overrun the town. As you ride the roller coaster of her trials, tribulations and battles throughout her journey, you are taken along at such a fast pace that when you reach the end, you let your breath out and want more! Kalleah is a great character and you really like her spunk! If you like a strong female protagonist then Kalleah is for you. If you like lots of action and a visual reading experience, this series if for you! I loved this third book and can’t wait for more! I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Renegade Queen is the third stallment in R.J. Vicker’s Forbidden Queen Series. This book starts out with a bang and just keeps on rolling, keeping you on the edge of your seat the whole way. Kalleah and her small group of followers must enter Larkhaven, gather further support and take back Larkhaven from the whitish. But the whitish have been controlling ciizens of Larkhaven either by intimidation or outright violence. Kalleah’s task is even more daunting then she realized, as she atempts to find people willing to join her cause without announcing her presence.
The storyline is fast-paced and well written, filled with danger, polical intrigue, distrust and determination. The characters are wonderful and well developed. Leoth continues to be one of my favorite characters as his role seems to change from book to book. Overall, an excellent read! Can’twait for book 4 to see what challenges Kalleah will face, and what Leoth’s role will be.
Believed to be executed Kalleah seeks to find a way to fight the Whitish that are taking over her country. I had a hard time putting this book down as she goes from one dire situation to another. I love this series! The characters are very real to me and the world is beautifully developed!
Renegade Queen is the third book in the Forbidden Queen series. I was very excited to continue the series and it did not disappoint at all. I enjoyed it a lot! In this book, Kalleah has to leave the throne to her enemy. Itrea is in trouble and it’s up to her to save it because the people don’t even realise it. She flees to Larkhaven and has no time to lose to build an army. There was so much action in this book. It was very fun to read. As in the previous books, the world building was fantastic and I loved the characters. What I also really like is that the story is detailed, but still fast-paced. I think this is very difficult, but it’s done perfectly in these books. I can’t wait to read the next books and I would definitely recommend this book!

Hatching harpies! Vikers flat brought it with this killer storyline and gripping plot, revving up the exuberance and intensity, rocking this artfully composed dynamo to it’s core, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. All the perilous drama, unnerving intrigue, nailbiting turmoil, chilling danger and spine tingling suspense keeps you riveted on a razors edge and lands you frozen to your seat waiting for the next shoe to drop. This bad boy showcases 100% on point realism, kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of daunting events that keep you flipping page after page. Buckle up baby you’re in deep as we witness the trials and tribulations, hard fast rules and revealing revelations. Blurring boundaries and leaping lines, exposing the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, kicking this baby into overdrive, breaking it down, blowing it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing realization. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that transform into outstanding personalities. The scenes are abundantly detailed and descriptive to give you a full understanding and realism that balance out perfectly. Remarkable job Vikers, thanks for sharing this little fella with us.
This novel was a good read, continuing where the previous novel left off. Trouble is brewing and it does not look good for the people of Itrea. The people are blinded by the beliefs of the Truthbringers, who are actually Whitish, who hate all magic and wish to destroy it. Kalleah has lost everything, but she is still strong and wants to save her people, those who betrayed her. She has done some bad things, but then sometimes you need to in order to survive and do what is in the nest interest of the kingdom. Kalleah and her friends travel to Larkhaven, hoping to build an army. Their journey is dangerous, especially with the armed guards stopping people. But are in for a surprise when they arrive in Larkhaven. Kalleah and the others begin recruiting, but how can they fight against an army when they have no training and people too afraid to join in the uprising. Dark times are ahead and Kalleah will need all her strength and determination, and her friends to protect her people and drive the evil out of Larkhaven, before they conquer all of Itrea.
