Brady wouldn’t have gone home for Christmas if the NHL hadn’t suspended him. Wouldn’t have seen his father for the first time in three years. And wouldn’t have connected with the girl next door, Angela. His first love.No way she’d want anything to do with him now. He was disgraced. And she had a boyfriend. Of course. But Christmas and coming home had a way of making a man take a second look at … man take a second look at himself, and face up to things.
Brady will take a second shot at hockey, but would he risk a second shot at love?

I enjoyed this read and found the story quite intriguing. That being said, I really wish that this book had been longer because I felt that there was a lot of untapped potential her that was left unexplored. Still, for the length of it, I thought it as quite good and I really liked Brady and Angela. The plot laid out the basis for a intensely emotional second chance romance but what you end up with I felt barely scratched the surface. Good but I know it could have been better. I doo look forward to more from this series but hope to see more depth and details in future books. This is my candid, freely posted review.
A wonderful bad boy second chance romance with characters you feel like you know and could be your friends and a well-written story that hits all your emotions and has some steamy intimacy that just might heat up your Kindle. I loved the undeniable chemistry and heart-felt romance between Brady MacKenzie, professional ice hockey player who returns home when he’s suspended for two games, and Angela Rizzo, the girl next door. Don’t miss this debut to the Boston Brawlers Hockey Romance Series by gifted author Stephanie Queen. Can’t wait to see what happens in book two!
A quick and sinfully seductive story. I enjoyed every single moment. This is the first book I had the pleasure of indulging myself with by this author. Can’t wait to dive into more of this series.
** spoiler alert ** He left her years ago, but is now determined to win her back. Will he fold under the pressure? Will she let him back in?
Love getting a second chance. I didn’t blame him for being scared, but loved when it came down to it, he put his heart on the line. Loved the fact that she was there for him, even after everything, and she was willing to take the chance. This was a cute, second chance romance.
This short book does a really good job of setting up this series from Stephanie Queen. It’s fun but angsty happy and sad, has back story and future promises. The main characters have hot chemistry combined with the sweetness of being childhood friends, and at the conclusion of this book they end up in a very good place with one another. You just know that although the next book will focus on a different hockey player, we have not heard the last of Angela and Brady.
There are a handful of typographical errors, but not severe enough to take away from the enjoyment of the story. I’m a big fan of this author and her books definitely do not typically have this type of issue. I already have the next one in the series cued up on my Kindle …
This book may sound familiar. A previous shorter version was included in a compilation. This book is longer and sexier.
If you like second chance books with a bad boy sports figure, this is a book for you. Brady is returning home for the first time in 3 years after a 2 game suspension for hitting a referee. It’s Christmas time and he reconnects with the family next door that opened their arms to him when he was a troubled boy. He also reconnects with the girl next door who has never stopped loving him. While home, he finds out that he is being traded because his team doesn’t want to deal with him anymore.
This book contains graphic sex so it may not be for everyone.
