A fake date to an ex’s wedding. A hot billionaire single dad next door. An overly generous demon cat.Until today, I never had to fake anything with Wyatt Westland—owner of a demon cat and my high school sweetheart-turned-nemesis-turned-billionaire tech genius. But I wouldn’t be here by his side right now if I could’ve found him a date.I swore I’d never let myself get involved with Wyatt again … myself get involved with Wyatt again after he broke my heart all those years ago, but he moved in next door with his adorable daughter. And the sexy single dad vibe he has going on began to thaw my inner ice queen—the one I perfected just for him.
Then my eccentric boss asked me to find Wyatt a date to his ex-wife’s wedding. My boss even put a cherry on top of a huge bonus, and I couldn’t resist. Of course, not a single one of the heiresses I set Wyatt up with worked. I’m convinced he ruined each date on purpose, leaving me with no choice but to step up and stand in as his date myself.
How hard can it be to fake it for just one day, even if every moment reminds me of all the ways I fell for him the first time?

Amusing, Captivating, Entertaining, Flirty
Nadia Lee has done it again! Faking it with the Frenemy is an amusing, captivating, entertaining, engaging, fun, flirty second chances AND friends to lovers billionaire story with hot hero and a super relatable heroine. It’s a standalone with ties to Ms. Lee’s previous books … a bonus for the author’s fans and a hook for those for whom she is a new author. Ms. Lee has both continued her series in way that doesn’t get stale!
Kim’s got her eyes set on making it to 5 years and getting the big bonus that goes along with it. But in her way, is being loaned out to Wyatt Westland, her high school sweetheart, who dumped her in a heartbreaking way. Kim’s still attracted to Wyatt, who comes with a daughter, Vi, and a demand to attend his ex-wife’s wedding.
This book is a terrifically fun and funny book with serious undertones that Ms. Lee does so well to weave into the story. The banter between Wyatt and Kim is witty, the romance is hot, and the scenes with Vi are sweet. …and the supporting characters, including favorites Dane, Yuna, and Salazar are terrific as standalones, but super if you’ve read the other books
If you’re looking for a terrific read that will make you smile, have you tagging both the scorching hot and sweet parts, and cause you to put all of Ms. Lee’s books on your TBR, download the delightful Faking It with the Frenemy.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Nadia Lee
Great book! Nadia Lee did it again. The characters are awesome, the book os funnyyyy, easy to read, happy ever after guaranteed. I really recommend this book
I always look forward to reading Nadia Lee’s books! She has a way to write stories to keep you wanting more and this book was just amazing! Wyatt and Kim has relationship history from high school and did not end well for them. Fast forward to the present.Wyatt is divorced from Kim’s arch enemy from high school and he has custody of his 10 year daughter (Vi) from their marriage. Kim has remained single but has a successful career working for Salazar Pryce, billionaire business man. (Gotta love Salazar now but not so much from previous Nadia Lee’s previous book…lol). As fate will have it, Kim has made the ultimate sacrifice (as a favor for her boss to keep him happy and to save her 5 year employment bonus) to be Wyatt’s date for his ex’s wedding. Wyatt and Kim rekindle that fire they thought was long gone and it literally had my kindle on fire !!!! Truths are revealed from their original break up and they need to see if love will conquer all and mend a broken heart . Awesome book and so worth reading those amazing words!
As usual, Nadia Lee hits it out of the park! I’ve been waiting for Kim’s story and this didn’t disappoint. Same insane Pryce antics and even crazier supporting characters.
* This is my 30th book by Nadia Lee
After seeing this cover, I knew I needed to read this one. It’s so cute & fun!
Kim & Wyatt met back in high school. They were each other’s firsts. Then there was a jealous best friend, some mean and nasty texts, and LOTS of misunderstandings. Fast forward to ten years later. Enemies for sure, but that attraction was still there.
While I thought this story was longer than it needed to be, and some parts weren’t my favorite, there were many things I did enjoy. It gave me some laughs and a few tingles from the steamy scenes.
I’m wondering if I would’ve enjoyed this more had I read the books before this with characters who made appearances quite often. Possibly.
I will say I’m curious enough about a couple of the other characters from this book and I may go back and read their stories. Like Dane…such a grump ass! Maybe reading his book will make me understand him a bit better? I do love a sexy grumpy man.
This was my first book by this author and I’m glad I finally read her.
Faking It with the Frenemy is the perfect combination of warm, cute and fun moments. Nadia Lee created adorable characters that made me laugh out loud and smile a lot. I loved every second of this beautiful rom com.
This story follows Kim and Wyatt. It is a second chance romance written in first person with dual POV.
Kim is super efficient at her job. Wyatt is a newly minted billionaire with a nasty ex-wife and a lovely ten year old daughter. There are definitely some funny moments and some hot moments. Though I liked the story in general, it felt like there was something missing that I really couldn’t place. There is a lot of history and misunderstanding between Wyatt and Kim. Though they resolve their differences, I really didn’t feel completely satisfied.
A enjoyable read. Though I feel like the ending was rushed. Things resolved way too fast. Seemed out of character from what they were like in the beginning. But sweet ending.
Wyatt and Kim enemies to lovers with some exciting banter in between. Wyatt a regular guy who just found new wealth with a technology sale and Kim who knows how to deal with wealth and is surrounded by it working for Salazar one of the richest men in the world. Can she complete the task shes been given for her 5 year bonus?
Readers finally getting to know more about Kim and are introduced to Wyatt. The pair have a decade long “feud” which is largely based on past hurt, misunderstanding and etc. Kim works hard so she doesn’t end like a trophy wife like her mom. While Wyatt tries to be the best dad for Vi and figuring out why Kim hates him so much. Of course, several characters make various appearances including our favorite “soul sister” Yuna. I won’t reveal too much about the story, but I will say at this point Geneva is the latest member of the Nadia Lee’s Horrible Mothers Club™. While I understand how Kim felt due to her past, I did feel sometimes she was a little stubborn at times especially when it came to Wyatt. With that being said, I love how she took her own strained relationship with her Mother and use to affirm Vi. As far as Wyatt, I thought he was a great guy and dad to Vi. However, I think he did suffer from tunnel vision. Lastly, I did chuckle at some of the funny moments that cut through the drama. Despite circumstances and decade delay, the couple did receive their Happy Ever After. I am eagerly awaiting to see how Jo and Edgar’s story turn out.
I have a hard confession for a blogger to make. I did not love the main character, Kim, when I started reading this book. She felt slightly immature to me and very self-centered. Despite that initial reaction, I continued to read the book and I am glad I did. This was the first novel I read by Nadia Lee. I had no preconceived idea of what the book would be like, but I liked the blurb, so I gave it a shot. It turned out to be a really funny, sexy, and heart-warming novel.
This novel follows Kim and Wyatt on their enemies-to-lovers and second chance romance journey. Wyatt and Kim had a lot of unresolved issues between them from high school at the beginning of this novel. Kim is a kick-ass assistant trying her best to obtain her five-year bonus from her boss and Wyatt is a recently divorced and also new billionaire trying to find his footing with his 10-year-old daughter. When Kim and Wyatt’s paths unexpectedly cross again after years of not seeing each other, venom and sparks fly. Will these two be able to settle their past for a chance at their future? Read the book to find out, it really is a good one!
I have read the entire series of books by Nadia Lee and really enjoyed each and every one. They can be read in order or each one is complete on its own.
If you like strong women, you’ll like these books. If you like stories about billionaires (but it’s really not about money), you’ll like these books. If you like stories about men who fall and fall hard for a woman, you’ll like these books.
Very good stories, really enjoyable characters, excellent plot twists.
I was really anticipating Wyatt and Kim’s story, and Nadia Lee did not disappoint. I love that they were able to reconcile, after realizing that it wasn’t either of their faults for their breakup in high school. And, Wyatt’s daughter Vi is the absolute sweetest child. I seriously LOVE all of Nadia’s books, and now I am anxiously waiting for Edgar and Jo’s story.
What a delightful read!
Faking it with the Frenemy is part of the Salazer/Pryce/Blackwood world and a total fun way to spend an afternoon.
Kim and Wyatt are just hilarious. As the reader, you figure out pretty quickly that something fishy is going on the reason they broke up years ago. But the whole truth doesn’t come out until about half way through the book, which makes for some hilarious situations.
To me, this was just real life. How exes can be towards each other when they still have feelings, but also a need to be petty.
It’s not all fun and games. There are some tear jerker moments with Vi, Wyatt’s daughter. They make you cry and scream with anger at the same time.
Champ the dog and Princess the cat round out the cast of characters. You might wonder what a couple of animals can do in a story. You have no idea what this comedy duo can do.
Definitely worth the read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed and ARC of this book.
I really enjoyed this book. Wyatt and Kim are definitely frenemies. They have a history that didn’t end well. Now they are neighbors. Fate has a finny way of working out. I loved the cat Princess. I do like books that have animals in them. I really liked Kim especially how is with Vi. Wyatt’s daughter Vi is like a little adult, but there is reason. She breaks me heart, but Kim is such a good influence in Vi’s life. The end really made my heart happy. This book has a good balance. It’s definitely going to make you laugh, but it also has plenty of feels.
This was my first book by Nadia Lee, and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I rarely read the contemporary romance novels, but something about this book just compelled me to read it. The way the author manipulated the story line was amazing!! The story was quite plain for my taste , but the dynamic between the characters was really interesting. The way they both played there roles was really good. I’ll just look out for other books by this author, because now she has gained my attention. There were parts of the story where I got a bit bored, But then the story picked up again and became interesting again. This book is recommended to all the contemporary romance lovers, with a light dynamic between the characters and joyful ride throughout the book!!
Faking It With The Frenemy by Nadia Lee is a great Enemies-to-lovers /2nd chance romance read.
Kim and Wyatt have this great chemistry which makes the fake dating plot so good. They have this past which there’s miscommunication and they end back up years later around each other and that’s when the fireworks happen. I loved the humor, angst, drama, intrigue, passion, romance, and the feels. There’s so much to enjoy about this story!! It’s a sweet, feel good story with steamy hot moments and those scenes that will have you reaching for the tissues. I can’t wait to read more by Ms. Lee.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
Faking It with the Frenemy is my first Nadia Lee
This book is definitely a RomCom. There is some lines in the book that makes you laugh out loud and say Omg!
“Chlamydia or gonorrhea. A rattlesnake or a water moccasin. The world is full of crappy choices.”
Wyatt and Kim’s story is made more interesting with Wyatt’s daughter, the cat,the dog and all the different personalities of the supporting characters. This is definitely a book with “ laughter and heart”
