Terrorists have taken over the American embassy in Koutu, a small Middle Eastern country with huge oil reserves. This is not good news for the Ambassador’s claustrophobic personal assistant, Georgia Masters, whose composure is tested when she’s locked in a small dark small storage room by the terrorists. Then her worst fear is realized when they throw a man into the storage room with her.
… her.
Burned out CIA agent Peter Welis can’t believe his bad luck. Terrorists take over the US embassy of a small Middle East country while he’s there on a routine visit. Only his cover as a photojournalist saves him from being immediately killed. Then he’s locked up in the basement with the Ambassador’s claustrophobic secretary. So what if she’s bravely trying really hard not to lose her cool. Nothing worse could possibly happen, right? Wrong. After escaping the storage room, he and Georgia discover a crate on the floor covered with Russian printing. It contains a nuclear warhead. Peter is now duty bound to find out the terrorists’ true intentions and stop them any way he can.
As they escape the embassy and search for help, hope, and rescue, Georgia struggles not to fall for the secret agent who’s the first to tell her he’s a bad bet.

This is an entertaining, fast paced, well-written, steamy, romantic suspense novel. It is action packed with likable, engaging characters, sizzling chemistry, a brave, strong and capable female protagonist, a mysterious, heroic male protagonist, and a happily ever after ending. I am looking forward to reading the next entry in Ms. Rowe’s outstanding “Trapped with Him” series with great anticipation.
It was ok. They story has been told before. I didn’t think it was a lot of action. The part I did not like is the tunnel scene. A very important mission and they decided to have a love scene in an underground tunnel. Very unrealistic.
Loved the storyline, imagine being claustrophobic and trapped in a small room with a man you have just met… and so it starts. I enjoyed reading this book, I thought it was entertaining and a lovely easy to read novel.
Thoroughly entertaining, Julie Rowe’s Trapped With The Secret Agent is a fast-paced, quick, intense, steamy read. Insanely worthy!
If you enjoy edge of your seat suspense, bullets flying action, a fearless clever heroine and a hero full of secrets, you will love Georgia and Peter’s fight for survival.
Great book wonderful characters didn’t want to put it down.
Fabulous book! Thank you for the great read.
This new series from Julie Rowe is a fast-paced edge of your seat thriller. That is definitely her strong suit but this series leans a little more with the romance but that does not take away from the action and suspense. I’ve yet to read a series from this author I didn’t love.
This book was so good and was full of twists and turns and ups and downs. I loved reading it. It is the story of Peter, a photojournalist/? and Georgia, the ambassador’s assistant/niece. While Peter is meeting with the Ambassador of Koutu, a group of terrorists suddenly seize the embassy, taking most everyone hostage and making tons of demands. Once their demands have been made and the President has been given six hours to comply, the terrorists lock Peter and Georgia up in the basement. However Peter knows about an escape tunnel which he and Georgia find to use in order to get to the US military base and get help to save the hostages. Then begins their wild trip thru the town to try and reach the base. Along the way their feelings for each other grow, but are they real or just part of the adventure? There is plenty of shooting, hiding, rescues, terror, darkness and a nuclear warhead to add to the drama, plus a little bit of humor. I encourage you to read this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Julie Rowe has created a real page-turner full of intrigue and adventure. From the first page to the last, the action never stops. I had trouble putting this book down!
I love the main character in this story. Georgia Masters is the niece of the Ambassador in Koutu, in the Middle East. She also works as his secretary. She is a strong, brave woman who has survived the death of both of her parents and lives in a country where Americans are considered enemies.
Peter Welis is a photographer who is visiting the embassy when anti-western protesters take over the building. All Americans inside the embassy are being held hostage until the President of the United States pays a huge ransom. This action happens on the first page.
What follows is an action-packed story as Georgia and Peter attempt to escape and get help for the hostages. The excitement doesn’t stop until the last page.
Trapped with the Secret Agent by Julie Rowe is a fast paced action romance. Julie is known for her highly suspenseful stories centred upon domestic biological terrorism. This time around, the action is centred around international terrorism with an attack on an American embassy in Kotu.
This book is fast paced. We are quickly introduced to our main cast of characters, then bam! We’re off and running and it’s virtually non-stop action until the last page. I found Trapped with the Secret Agent to be a little less intense than other stories by this author, although no less enjoyable. It is a lighter read, think action movie rather than a psychological thriller. The storyline is well developed, the characters are engaging, and there’s a good mix of action, humour, romance, and steam to keep everyone happy making it an enjoyable thrill ride to the finish.
I’d recommend Trapped with the Secret Agent to anyone who is looking for a light escapist read.
ONE GROUND SHAKING LANDSLIDE!!!
Hopping hellions! Julie hit the ground running full tilt, throttle wide open, revving up the intensity and bringing out the heavy artillery, locked and loaded, blasting this bad boy to life spectacularly. Bearing the burdens and dispensing justice, imparting this action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, block busting bombshell, binding this gem together sleek, shiny and tight. Shenanigans, escapades and havoc rule the roost, rolling with the drama, turmoil, intrigue, danger, spiraling suspense and intense situations, along with a heaping with a super set of steel balls while dodging deadly intents, you have one intoxicating masterpiece. Blasting the boundaries and pushing the limits, the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, catapulting this gem forward, launching it into a frenzy with a life-changing culmination. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Julie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
An American embassy is overrun with terrorists. The ambassador’s niece, Georgia, is put into a cage with Peter who says he is a photojournalist. This is a thriller and a love story in one. It is a story that makes you want to keep reading. Excitement and danger along with two people falling in love through it all. I recommend this novel highly.
5 stars
I received a free copy of the slow burn romantic suspense Trapped with the Secret Agent Trapped with Him, Volume 1 by Julie Rowe and this review was given freely.
An enthralling, action packed, instant attraction, slow burn to mildly steamy story with realistic characters, a fair amount of violence, a touch of humor and a heartwarming ending.
Just as claustrophobic Georgia Masters, personal assistant for her Uncle Theodore Mitchell, the Ambassador of the American embassy in the small Middle Eastern country of Koutu, was lamenting her boredom, the heat and the cultural restrictions, excitement arrives in the form of a terrorist attack resulting in her having to place her life in the hands of mysterious photojournalist and undercover CIA agent Peter Welis.
This is my first book by Julie Rowe and I really enjoyed it. I love romantic suspense books, so this one was right up my alley. The characters are very likeable and the story moves at a fast pace. There was a ton of suspense and I couldn’t put it down. I work full time and read this in two sittings! Georgia and Peter meet when the Embassy she works at is captured by rebels. Peter appears to be just a photo journalist, but has special skills that Georgia is puzzled by. Their story is filled with suspense and, even though parts of it seem very unrealistic, I still enjoyed the story. Definitely will read more books by this author!!
**I was given a copy of Trapped with the Secret Agent by the author in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions weren’t solicited in any way **
Trapped with the Secret Agent by Julie Rowe is a new series for the author. I’m a huge fan for her Biological Response Team and Outbreak Task Force series and even though this book is different it still earned a 5 Star rating for me. I hope there will be more books in the series.

He’ll have to use his skills as a photographer when the insurgents want pictures taken and use his special forces and the CIA skills to escape with her and not get caught all while trying to not give into his attraction to Georgia plus evade the soldiers looking for them.
This book was good and kept you reading to see what else was going to happen.
