Another great book from JP Comeau based in River Valley around the Truman family and friends. Another take on the tried and tested ”fake marriage’ format sees out leads ‘marry’ to gain her inheritance from her dead Uncle and Mother’s estates; but will her anxiety let her get through the appearance in front of the Judge??
This book is well written, with good pace, lots of details about lots of different things like yoga and food and cars and gardens and travel and pregnancy and alcohol and designer fashions! There’s enough energetic sex to keep everyone turning the pages faster than a helicopter’s rota blades.
The two main characters have instant chemistry, even if she doesn’t realise, although for a couple who I assume are in their 30s they speak very formally to each other. The cast of supporting characters are made up of those from the previous books and are the Truman family members.
I totally loved this book and recommend that you read and enjoy it for yourself xx

I liked that it was Crystal that needed a fake marriage to get her inheritance. I didnt like how immature she came off in the beginning of the book. It seemed juvenile. After a few chapters, it got better. Crystal wasnt as judgemental about the billionaire snobs and she didnt fight her feelings for Gavin at all. I dont like the should we shouldnt we back and forth and they didnt do that at all.

Three best friends with lives that revolved around each other come to learn what family truly means. Annie, Julianne and Crystal but also Richard, Jake and Gavin fall into the best friends category that teach all six of them the true meaning of family. Interacting with each other, growing and becoming what they should be makes this a heartwarming tale.

3.5
Pretty good storylines and characters, but I wasn’t in love with any of them.
The flow seemed a bit off also. And one would swear every pregnant woman had horrible beginnings to the point of needing 24 hour assistance.
But there is a gaggle of cute kiddos and s wonderful HEA!!

Richard is the brother of Jake the man marrying Annie’s sister. Sparks fly between them but she refused him once so he doesn’t think she’ll agree to go agree to go out with him. Now its time for the wedding and Richard and Annie are spending some time together. They get closer just as he is served with papers from his ex Heather. She had their baby and didn’t tell him and now she was wanting money and child support. Will him learning about his daughter ending his budding romance with Annie? Will they be able to be together or will his ex come between them?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Neighborly Love anyone?
We’re Just Neighbors is the second book in the Big Fat Lie series and is about Annie and Richard. We got to know each of them in the previous book, We’re Just Friends, as Annie and Julianna are sisters and Richard is Jake’s older brother, so it is nice to read their story with this book. Annie and Richard have been “neighbors” for years and also friends for the last year or so. Both are interesting characters as they are actual adults with successful lives, well at least part of their lives are a success. He is a billionaire businessman and she is a successful yoga instructor and working on creating a line of holistic goods. They end up having a spectacular one night fling at the bachelor/bachelorette party but neither wants a relationship, as they are both scarred and scared from previous relationships that turned bad. However, they like each other still and things start to happen between them. But as with all great love stories the journey is not easy and there are some major surprises along the way which they will need to either deal with together or end up apart.
This is a nicely written and entertaining book. The story-line is fun, witty, has some drama, twists and surprises and of course some romance and sizzle. The characters are really well written and likeable. This was a very enjoyable book to read.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Strong Foundation of Friendship and Family – 4 Stars
This was a story that flowed well and was easy to read. The main male and main female characters got to know each other over time, as their siblings were married. As a result they had a strong foundation of friendship and familial functions, that their romance seemed to initially become very comfortable. Unfortunately they went through some turbulent times, due to issues the main male character was dealing with. However, they were able to wend their way through these obstacles put in their path and went on to achieve their own happily-ever-after.

This is a story about love and the love of family. Relationships are strained, some are broken and others are just beginning. Julianna Belmont is having her final fitting for the wedding dress she’s going to wear as she marries Jake Truman. Julianna’s sister, Annie, doesn’t have a date, yet, nor does Jake’s brother, Richard. It seems natural that they could go together. Annie thinks he’s an attractive, eligible bachelor but and they’ve been flirting with each other for a year. After dinner with the soon-to-be married couple, Richard takes Annie home, but their night’s not over. Maybe it was the alcohol, but they shared an unforgettable evening. Where do they go from here? Annie is a grounded woman and knows what she wants in life. Richard has had a host of flings, as well as a nightmare of an ex-girlfriend, Heather. He’s not sure he wants to be tied down again, ever since she left town because he wouldn’t go to work for himself, instead of with the family business. Out of the blue, she comes back to see Richard and it’s not for a social visit. She has kept him from his daughter for seven years and is back to claim that he owes her child support and a lump sum of cash for all the time he didn’t support the child he never knew! He meets his daughter, Addison, and it’s love at first sight, but Heather’s not going to make it easy for them to spend time together because her narcissism won’t let anyone else get close to her. Richard, Annie and Addison spend a day together at the beach and it’s obvious that they could pass for a real family. But Richard lets his emotions do the thinking for him and he’s concerned that Annie might disappoint his little girl in the same way her mother did. Splitting up is the only answer for him, all in an effort to protect Addison, but he fails to see what it does to his whole world. Richard is going to have to understand just how special Annie is with Addison and what love here is between them. They all get their happy ending and the epilogue is really sweet!
You get your drama, the ex.Your happy ever after, Richard and Annie. Your twists and turns all the other characters. Then their is family. This is a older man younger woman romance. Julianna and Jake wedding. These are the siblings to Richard and Annie. Making fun of Richard as a joke at the bachelor/bachelorette party, Richard had to show Annie he still had it. Playing pool, drinks and some chemistry you have Richard and Annie hooking up. They decide to give it a shot after the wedding but here comes the ex with his daughter. She did not want Richard to have Annie and she was not letting her daughter spend time with him because of her either. Making the child pay because of your mistakes. Then she wanted money out of Richard anyway. Annie had a battle on her hands. Girl fight for what you want do not let some witch take away your dreams.or your future. This was good book. Its worth the time in reading it.

We’re Just Neighbors was an intense read fill with drama that make you sit back and say WOW.
Richard who is known to be a playboy, that is only because he does not want to get hurt again. He and Annie have known each other for sometime, although they get along great, she turns him down because of his reputation. Once they decide to take the next step, Richards past (Heather, his ex) shows up to up turn his world.
As the antagonist in the story, Heather is on spot. She is cruel, mean, selfish and vindictive. She broke up with Richard because he would not do what she wanted, she held off tell him she was pregnant until years later, and she was only look out for her.
On the opposite side you had Anne, I love her character. Even though Richard was going through his drama with his ex, she was there to support him, but she also did not stop striving for her dreams.
This book is a great read that will have your head spinning, with an end that will stop you in your tracks.

I very much enjoyed this wonderful book. Loved how Annie didn’t get to where she is by having things given to her. She is a very bright, awesome woman, Richard is lucky to have her. He has so much to deal with. Loved the surprises and the characters have so much chemistry.

Were Just Neighbors is the second book by J.P. Comeau in her Big Fat Lie series and features the story of Richard and Annie whose siblings are to be read. While their romance starts the night before the wedding, it is dramatically altered when Richard finds out he has had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend. I recommend this quick read with its romantic ups and downs and great characters.

To start as friends is a great start for a relationship. You already have history and comfortability with each other. When it comes to their history, Richard asked Annie to a date, but rejected him due to her heart getting broken years before. Knowing that he is a “smash and dash” type, she didn’t want to risk it. As a playboy, its known you dont settle down. At a bachelor/bachelorette party of Richard’s brother and Annie’s sister, the two friends are in their feelings while tipsy, and took it out passionately with one another. Richard, a man hurt by his own ex girlfriend because he chose his father’s work, turned out to be a father. I love that he wanted to be in his child’s life immediately. I especially love that Annie and Richard are successful, so there’s no “with them for money” deal going on. Its all just pure, interesting, attention grabbing. I noticed a few spelling errors, but all in all, the book was great.

Richard’s brother is marring Annie’s sister they end up spending time together he ask her out she said no then the wedding happens they hook up and suddenly his age isn’t that big a deal to Annie or his work aholic playbo tendencies she’s career driven to and she doesn’t want a relationship till she dose then he’s ex comes back with a 7 year old surprise Annie wants to help Richard pushes her away. Both Richard and Annie had to move past bad relationship drama and move forward so they had a chance together.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
What a fun hot read!!!This friends to lovers story is entertaining, witty, cute quick read. Annie and Richard are friends who are career focused and they are thrown together often because their siblings are getting married to each other. They both are adverse to relationships for different reasons and do not want to cross that bridge. However, at the rehearsal dinner , one thing led to another and everything changed. A funny, laugh out loud at their antics great read.

Annie has always liked her sister’s future brother-in-law they were friends. Richard is known for his playboy ways so he is a little surprised by his reaction to Annie.
I enjoyed this story. The characters are fun interesting and invested. The storyline has a lot to keep the readers interest.

For the Love of a Child
Some women who have never given birth are natural mothers—loving, caring and supportive. Other women are not fit to care for children, not their own or anyone else’s child. When Richard Truman discovers that he is a father—has been a father for over 7 years—he also realizes that his ex, Heather, is not fit to be a mother and has not only neglected the emotional needs of their child, but she has also denied him his need to be a father—a need he did not know he had until he saw a picture of his daughter, Addison. When his hard-hearted, money-loving ex left him, she not only broke his heart, she stole his unborn child from him. Now, 8 years later, she has returned on the cusp of her marriage to man who seems to be her perfect match—wealthy, self-centered and not very interested in being a parent (he has already located a boarding school for the 7-year-old Addison). And with her news that Richard is a father, Heather offers to share custody—but for a price.
Annie has been a resident of River Valley her whole life, and she has known the Truman family as one of the wealthiest families of their California town. Even though Richard Truman is 15 years her senior, she knows him well because her older sister, Julianna, and Richard’s younger brother, Jake, who were best friends growing up, had recently reconnected, and were now marrying, forming a family with their young son, Jude and Julianna’s daughter Caley.
With their siblings marrying, Annie and Richard who were serving as maid of honor and best man were thrown together repeatedly, and the interest that had sparked between them in the past reignited, starting a fire. As they finally give voice and action to the growing flames of their attraction, Richard’s admiration for Annie is further enhanced as he observes Annie’s natural openness and loving attention offered freely and genuinely to the love-starved Addison. But, the fire of love is smothered by Heather and her threats to withdraw her offer of shared parenting when she becomes aware of the relationship between Richard and Annie. Even though she has no interest in any type of a relationship with Richard, especially not romantic, her self-centered nature sees Annie as a threat.
JP Comeau’s sweet story of redemptive, healing and maturing love is well-paced with moments of life’s challenges and even risks balanced with the growing trust and love of the two central characters, offering both tension and satisfaction for the reader. Comeau’s romances always bring a satisfactory and happy resolution of love as billionaire bachelors learn to become loving and loved husbands and fathers.

True connection
This is the second book in the Big Fat Lie series from this author. The story links back to the main characters in book 1, Juliana and Jake, which was really nice and familiar.
This story is about Annie and Richard. Annie is Juliana’s sister, and Richard is Jake’s brother. They have great chemistry, and while they seem like total opposites, they would make the perfect pair in my opinion.
This chemistry and mutual attraction of theirs is tested throughout the book. There are dramas caused by both as well as other parties. But will they be able to find common ground find their way to be together? Whilst I though Richard was weak at times, he certainly redeemed himself in my eyes. It’s both heart-warming AND heart-breaking at times.
I don’t want to give away too many details because I don’t want to spoil it for other readers. It is however a great read that keeps you interested throughout the entire story.
Whilst the ending was perfect, it felt a little unfinished. So I gave this one four and half stars, mainly because I need/want MORE of these characters and their storyline/s. I’m REALLY hoping there’s more to come!
