For wealthy socialite Katrina Vandenburg, business meetings and charity galas are all part of her orderly, structured world—one that gets blown to hell after finding two dead bodies in the same day. The police think she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews thinks otherwise. Dayne and his K-9, Remy, are tracking a cold-blooded killer, and that trail…leads … straight to Kat.
Kat and her rescue shelter—the Canine Haven—are the only common denominators between the murders, and Dayne is convinced she’s dead center in the killer’s sights. Protecting her will test every ounce of his steely resolve. She’s the most intriguing woman he’s ever met. And everything he shouldn’t want. Too bad neither of them seem to have gotten the memo.
And they need to focus on catching a killer now more than ever. Because if Dayne and Remy fail in their mission, nothing will stand between Kat and the killer’s deadly blade.
Each book in the Federal K-9 series is STANDALONE:

I love this series of hunky law enforcement officers and their K-9 partners. Dayne is a FBI agent with a protective streak a mile long. His partner Remy is just as protective. Kat is a billionaire socialite who has found herself in the wrong place and in trouble. Protecting her becomes a job for Dayne and Remy. Tee O’Fallon brings all her years of experience in law enforcement to bear as she engages the reader in the procedural aspects of what it takes to solve a case. This heightens the tension as you turn the page looking for when the the next clue will show up leading you closer to the killer. Meanwhile you are watching the developing passion between Dayne and Kat and rooting for them to get a happy ending.
Perfect blend of romance, action, mystery, and puppies!
This amazing story starts strong with our heroine landing right in the middle of a murder scene, and the suspense just keeps building from there. We’re given a detailed, front-row seat to the investigation, which intensified the intrigue while also letting the reader feel every raw emotion as it happens.
I loved how Kat and Dayne continually defied each other’s expectations. Their chemistry was instant, and the emotional depth really carried it far beyond simple physical attraction. There was a strong ring of authenticity in the major obstacle to their relationship, which I thought was resolved splendidly. Their HEA was nothing short of inspiring.
There are a lot of wonderful scenes that showed the humanity of these characters. One of my favorites is the fundraiser where Kat sets aside her proper decorum to deliver a much-needed comeuppance. There are a couple heartbreaking moments, steamy intimate scenes, and a couple scene-stealing pooches that add both levity and gravitas as we get an inside look at the life of a K-9 officer.
This story was a non-stop read for me, one I highly recommend for anyone who loves romantic suspense. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the fourth book in this wonderful series and I loved this one just as much as the earlier ones Tee has a writing style that goes along at a great clip[ dragging you into the story and keeping you engaged until you turn that last page
In this book we meet both Katrina Vandenburg a wealthy socialite who along with various other things in her life runs the Canine Haven she comes to the attention of FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews a K9 handler when she discovers two bodies in the one day The FBI is convinced she is just in the wrong place at the wrong time but Dayne thinks there is more to it and he and his dog Remy step up to keep her safe. The only problem he is deeply attracted to her Can they keep her safe and the pup that Remy has adopted in his own way a pup that Katrina loves and has more to do with this than anyone realises
I really liked and enjoyed this story. The opening chapter starts out with quite the surprise of Kat and the reader. It goes all in right away. It’s also part of how Kat met Angus.
I liked that Kat was the one with the zillions of dollars, and business and charity authority and demands. It made the challenges that they faced different from a lot of books.
Let’s talk about Katrina (Kat) Vandenburg first. She has been born into incredible wealth and huge responsibilities. While her parents were alive she knew what a loving family was like. Also she had seen some of what a loving marriage looked like too. You can see after awhile that Kat really has two sets of friends. Emily who is Kat’s personal assistant and one of her best friends, is one of those true friends. It takes her a bit of time to realize there is really only one set of true friends. That will keep her busy as she tries to stay alive with the help of F.B.I. (K-9) Agent Dayne Andrews.
Now we get to Dayne Andrews. He was great at his job and you can see how different the worlds that they come from are.
Dayne has a lot of preconceived ideas about Kat and part of that comes from the fact that she is outrageously wealthy. And he would describe himself as having coming up from the streets.
The relationship that Dayne had with his canine partner Remy was a pleasure to watch. So was the interaction of Remy and the puppy Angus. It added charm, fun and smiles.
The title for this this book was interesting and as the story goes on you get a better idea of why it fits so well.
Over all this book has all the good main characters, emotions, action, mysteries, dangers, romance and some spicy heat that you could hope for. Oh yes, and some good adjustments to make for a H.E.A. which shows in the Epilogue.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow! There are brutally murdered women, stalkers and plenty of action in this story. I have been enjoying the stories in Tee O’Fallon’s Federal K-9 series and this one, Trap “N Trace is another really good read. The main characters are Dayne Andrews FBI Agent K-9 Handler and Katrina Vandenberg , rich socialite who has a rescue shelter named Canine Heaven. I love these two characters. They come from different worlds but still make the perfect couple. Anyone looking for lots of action in a romantic suspense story will enjoy this one.
Great addition to Federal K-9 series. This smart,fast-paced read had me hooked from start to finish. Loved the chemistry between Kat and Dayne. Remy and Angus were the perfect sidekicks. Looking forward to future books by Tee O’Fallon.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
Wow, this series just keeps getting better with each new book.
This time the story belongs to FBI agent Dayne Andrews and the very wealthy socialite, Katrina/Kat Vandenburg.
Kat lives in a castle and leads a very structured, busy life. But her favorite endeavor is her animal rescue shelter, Canine Haven.
Dayne and his K-9 , Remy, are inseparable and meet Kat when he’s called in to investigate the murder of a former FBI agent. A woman that had been his mentor. Kat discovered the body and in doing so , triggered a domino effect that led to another death and this puts her life in danger. What is the connection? This is something everyone wants to know.
The attraction is immediate, and Dayne is determined to keep Kat safe while solving the mystery of the deaths.
While the feelings grow, Dayne tries to keep it all professional. Though both would like more , their backgrounds are worlds apart.
Will Dayne and the local police be able to find the murderer in time? Will Kat and Dayne find their HEA or will their differences interfere?
This action packed story will keep you on the edge of your seat and the romance will touch your hearts. Both dogs, Remy and Angus, are adorable and will bring smiles to your face, while the main characters are well developed and complex.
Another winner from this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
**I received a copy of Trap N’ Trace from Net Galley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinion was not solicited in any way.**
Trap N’ Trace by Tee O’Fallon is the fourth book in her Federal K-9 series this is Katrina Vandenburg and Dayne Andrews with Remy his canine officers story. I have loved each and every one of these books but this one is one that I’ve waited for because Katrina is not the usual heiress. She helps raise money for Canine Haven which is the central business for all of the stories with the dogs who each have their own personalities. I’d give this story 10 stars if I could and I wait anxiously for the next book to come out.
Kat is returning Angus the puppy to Rebecca Garman to her but never expected to find her dead body. There’s a killer loose who wants something that Ms. Garman hid and will kill anyone to get it even Amy a beloved employee of Kat’s at Canine Haven. Dayne is called in to investigate the murder because Rebecca was his trainer at Quantico he doesn’t expect to see Kat there or to offer to be her bodyguard while he searches for the killer. His partner Remy is very protective of the puppy also and will do anything to protect her partner and Katrina.
Dayne Andrews is mourning the loss of Rebecca Garman and never expects that Katrina would be the one to find her. But once they meet he offers to find the killer and protect Kat from harm but as the clues start to add up he’ll need all of his friends to help find her when she’s taken hostage. As their feelings grow he’ll be in awe with her ability to lead the Vandenberg trust and companies and accept that he’s not interested in her money.
Katrina Vandenburg’s world is turned upside down when she finds a murdered woman. Normally she spends her time in business meetings and her canine rescue center. Now she has to face real fear and the nuisance of the press.
F. B. I. special agent Dayne Andrews and his K9 partner Remy don’t usually get involved in a murder case, but the dead woman was a former agent and good friend. Later in the same day the case takes a very nasty turn and he finds himself acting as a bodyguard for a very misunderstood woman.
This is a very exciting romantic suspense / murder / mystery. Our hero learns his first impression might have been reverse snobbery. Our heroine makes a lot of changes in her lifestyle and finds out who are her real friends. The doggy characters are lots of fun.
This is part of a series of connected but stand alone books. I will definitely be reading more of them.
Trap ‘N Trace is the fourth book in the Federal K-9 series. This was a new author for me and not the normal book for me to read, but the description caught my attention, so I thought I’d try reading something new. I am so glad I did because I loved it! My attention was caught at the beginning and the intense plot kept me on the edge of my chair until I finished the book. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected leads that there was no hint of how the book would end. The book flowed so smoothly and was so beautifully written. The author’s style of writing puts the readers right into the action and emotions of the characters. The characters were developed and perfect for each other.
Wealthy Katrina Vandenburg didn’t expect to come across a dead FBI female while returning a puppy that had been found and brought to her rescue shelter, the Canine Haven. Nor did she expect to be attacked and find her friend dead at the shelter while collecting food for the puppy, Angus. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews didn’t think it was a coincidence that both deaths were during the same day with Katrina being involved. He and his K-9 Remy’s mission is to protect her and find the murderer. Dayne wasn’t sure what to expect from Katrina but he didn’t expect her to be so sincere and caring for her employees. She was a constant surprise for him, and he knew he shouldn’t become involved with the witness of a case. His past has made him wary of wealthy females but the attraction between the two is too strong for them to deny. Can he keep her safe and be objective while investigating the case?
This was such a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. The characters from the previous books in the series make an appearance and I am truly intrigued by the series. I can’t wait to read the previous books and hope to see some of the agents again in future books.
Trap ‘N’ Trace by Tee O’Fallon a five-star read with bite. This was my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last, I simply adored the writing style and not simply because there are dogs In the story. That being said I really hope there are places like the canine Haven in the real world as well, this was a compelling read and I already have the rest of the series queued up on my kindle as I need more of this writing in my life. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews and his K-9 partner was so well done, I love me a good police procedural and usually find myself picking fault as I can hear my step-dad in my head going ‘what are they doing, they wouldn’t hold it like that’ and ‘who says stuff like that! Really why do you watch/read this rubbish’ and I know if he was still here I could tell him to pick this up and he would devour it, even if he would blush at some of the descriptions. But they weren’t my favourite characters in this story, that honour went to wealth socialite Katrina Vanderburg and that surprised me as on the surface, I really didn’t expect to like her as much as I did, she wormed her pretty little face right into my heart. Kat became so much more than a wealthy socialite as we follow her on her path, and it’s a twisty path that is easy to follow but you will need to be mindful you don’t fall of the side as I suspect it may be a huge drop. This was a great story that shows us that money, power can be dangerous things and how that can cause imbalance, but they may not be the only dangerous things to these well written characters. What a fantastic read this was and I don’t think I can put into words how much I enjoyed it, It has taken me two days to get this written as my last one was just all, aaahhhh ooohhh and wow. I couldn’t think of any better words that would do it justice.
This is book 4 in the Federal K-9 series, and I have to say, I’ve loved each and every story so far, (all standalones by the way). FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews and his K-9 partner Remy are on a mission to find out who murdered his close friend, a former FBI agent in cold blood. The only lead he has is wealthy socialite Katrina Vandenburg, and an adorable puppy named Angus. When it becomes apparent that Kat is also on the killer’s radar, Dayne becomes her personal protector. Living under the same roof and spending every waking hour together proves difficult considering the undeniable chemistry they have going on. They both try to ignore the mutual attraction they seem to have to each other, and, in order to keep his distance, Dayne convinces himself they have nothing in common, and he has no interest in her or her snooty friends. His priority is catching the killer. Yeh, good luck with that Dayne. Great story, I love Tee O’Fallen’s style of writing, the characters are wonderful, and the dogs, do not get me started on the dogs, they’re freaking adorable. So so cute. This romantic suspense was completely addictive. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
