Nightingale is book 24 in the Reed Security Series, and it is recommended that they are read in order.Florrie I don’t do well with emotions and yucky love stuff. I do the best I can, but at the end of the day, I’m better at showing someone I love them by fighting for them. That’s the way I’ve always been and how I’ll always be. And I have one helluva fight ahead of me. I’ll do anything for the … ahead of me. I’ll do anything for the people I love, but what I didn’t expect was to be fighting the one person I thought would always be on my side. I don’t know if I can ever forgive him for this or if we can ever move forward. Some betrayals are just unforgivable.
Alec
Life is going great. I have the woman I love by my side and a kid that is quickly becoming a huge part of my life. What can go wrong? Then it happens. One phone call changes my world in such a profound way that I’m not sure anything will ever be the same again. I risk losing it all with my decisions, but I have to stand up for what I believe is right. I just hope that when the dust settles, I still have someone on my side.
“What do you have for me?” I asked Rob as I stormed into the IT room.
“You know, just once it would be nice if someone said hello first. Ya know, Hey, Rob. How’s it going? Are you having a good day? Want some coffee?”
“You don’t drink coffee.”
“Still, it would be nice if someone asked,” he grumbled, spinning around in his chair to stare at his computer screen. Rob was just like the guys. He had the same build and most of the same skills, but he was a computer geek at heart, which meant that he would always be on this side of the action.
I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat. “Rob, how’s it going? Want some coffee?”
“You forgot to ask if I was having a good day,” he said as his fingers flew over the keyboard.
“Fine,” I bit out. “Are you having a good day?”
He shrugged. “Eh. It’s okay. My sciatica is flaring up again.”
“You don’t have sciatica.”
He spun around and glared at me. “I could have sciatica. How the heck would you know? This is the first time that you’ve asked me how I was doing.”
“I know because I pay attention when you talk, and you’ve never once mentioned sciatica to anyone.”
“Maybe I didn’t want anyone to know about my condition.”
“Right, because men are so good at keeping their pain a secret.”
“Hey, I’m not like those baboons you work with. I’m a real man that has feelings and shit.”
“Feelings and shit, is that right?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright, so where is this sciatica that you’re talking about?”
“In…my sciatic nerve,” he said, obviously not really knowing what sciatica was.
“Well, I sure as hell hope it’s not in your optic nerve, or we’d all be screwed.”
He huffed out a laugh and shook his head. “My optic nerve. Right. Anyway, aside from that, I’m good today. And yes, I would like something to drink. I’ll take an Earl Grey, please, with milk and two lumps of sugar.”

Reconstruction
It is the continuation of the story of Florrie and Alec in which we find the doubts of the couple, but especially those of Florrie who had already been difficult to convince in “Alec”, even if here her doubts are more related to what happens to her. The story comes back a year ago to find out how we got there and why Alec and Florrie need to completely rebuild their relationship, their trust, after immense losses for them.
This part is quite tense, complex emotionally, very well written but also very hot.
After a rather heavy account, the little note of humor of the last chapter is pleasant.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This is one messy and emotional rollercoaster.
Broken hearts, mistakes, angst and some drama. This is journey of Alec and Flora to happiness and love.
The first ,they must trust, understand and forgive. A lot of healing after hurting each other but definitely was worth.
Fighting, this is what men and women in Reed Security do. This time relationships are in stakes.
Relationship between couple of hot heads and whole team, too.
Did I picked the team? Not sure if I can.It was just different point of view.
I like next generation part, too. Growing too fast and Dads are ready to pull out arsenal , to protect their little girls.
Alec ,has his own book so you may consider read them together.

Another amazing book in the Reed Security series! Alec and Florrie are engaged to be married and are team members. They are foster parents to 14 year old Reid. Then the unexpected happens when Reid’s Aunt and Uncle show up to claim custody. Their views on the matter are totally different and mistakes are made and hearts are hurt. Will their relationship be fixable? Such an emotional rollercoaster of a book and one I highly recommend.

Alec and Florrie have been through so much, and this time, their relationship was truly tested. I admit that I was Team Alec with all that was going on, but my heart hurt so much for Florrie. This story had me feeling a whole lot of emotions, from anger to tears to exasperation. There was the usual witty banter between team members, allowing me to giggle now and then, as well as support on both sides. Forgiveness was hard fought, and I recommend this story.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Alec and Florrie lose guardianship of Reid and their relationship explodes.
Florrie was shocked when Reid’s social worker calls and tells her that his father’s sister has contacted them with a view to getting custody of Reid and that once they have been checked out it will go forwards the a court appearance to get a judge’s ruling on the transfer of guardianship to his aunt. Florrie is desperate to keep Reid while Alec is remembering his own life in foster care and how he had wanted someone from his family to come looking for him. When custody is given to the aunt Florrie wants to go on the run with him but Alec does not agree this she views as a betrayal.

When an unexpected battle threatens Florrie and Alec’s relationship it devides loyalties at Reed Security.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, out loud and wanted to scream at times. As always I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

This is the 24th book in this amazing series and is Florrie and Alec’s story. These two have been on the same team at Reed Security for a while. These two are together and have temporary custody of a 14-year old boy called Reid, who ran away from home 8-months previously when he overheard his senator stepdad discussing how he was going to kill Reid for votes. While Florrie and Alec are working towards adopting Reid when they are informed that his aunt and uncle have approached Social Services to claim custody. I loved all the secondary characters in this story. This is a beautifully written tale which is filled with heartbreak, drama, romance, emotion, and is a humorous story. I cannot wait to read more from this author and highly recommend her work for all.
What a ride Nightingale was! Giulia Lagomarsino really upped their emotions with Florrie and Alec’s story.
Alec and Florrie were an emotional mess. Alec was the man who just wanted to love her, and Florrie was the woman who didn’t know how to be loved. And this was the root of all their problem.
Reid was the sad, broken boy who came to live with them . Florrie was told she would never have children and Reid was hers until one day he wasn’t. The downward spiral started when Reid’s ain’t and uncle wanted him. Florrie was out of her mind crazy and Alec was the calm rational one. When Reid left their relationship went from bad to unfixable. My heart broke for each of them until it didn’t anymore for Alec. He did something that is unforgivable and I’m still not sure how I feel about Florrie forgiving him. It was clear after his mistake he realized what’s he’d done but it was too to take it back. The unbearable hurry that Florrie felt when she found out the truth was painful. I cried for her. Being hard to love doesn’t make you unlovable, it means if a person truly loves you they’ll fight for you harder. Alec was willing to fight until someone else came around. And that was the moment I no longer felt sorry for Alec. When Florrie was being horrible to him I honestly felt so much pain for him. I thought he was a hypocrite when it came to Florrie and Jamie.
I think Alec and Florrie were two broken people who’s broken pieces fit together. No matter what they went through they came out on top and together. Their story was raw and emotional and was completely a real life thing. I think Nightingale is a reminder that love will win if you’re willing to fight for it. Second chances don’t always happen but when they do you hold onto them and never let them go. Alec and Florrie climbed their way out of rock bottom and surprised the hell out of me.
Giulia Lagomarsino has delivered another 5 star Reed Security book. Nightingale has me feeling all the emotions. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to slap everyone. Each and every Reed Security character adds something to the book. I loved Alec and Florrie’s story more than I thought I would. They are two characters that are hard to love, until they aren’t.
WOW! What a roller-coaster ride this book was! Incredible! So many ups and downs and emotion. An entertaining addition to the series!

The great character and storyline development kept me totally engaged in Florrie and Alec’s journey as it effortlessly unfolded! I always enjoy reading what this author writes!
Very good writing. The ups and downs in Alec’s and Florrie’s story made me to not let the book down until I finished it, constantly wondering if they make it or not. I really need to know what happens next.

As wellwritten and fastpaced as the other books in this series. I just love reading about the characters at Reed Security.

Florrie and Alec have always been challenged, Florrie never thinking she could be loved, Alec proving that she could. Florrie unable to have children, then they find Reid and set in plans to adopt him. They are finally going to get married, until Reid’s Aunt and Uncle show up.
Alec and Florrie’s reactions on how to handle it are extremely different to each other’s. Reed Security has always been a team, always supporting each other, even if sometimes it doesn’t work the way they planned. But Alec and Florrie can’t agree, and it has Reed Security members drawing guns on each other and having to choose a side.
Can Reed Security survive this, can Florrie forgive Alec after this and what else he does.
WHOA! What a roller coaster of emotions! Florrie and Alec definitely go through the ringer! The question is will they make it out the other side? I love this series and can’t wait to read more!!

So I have to say that I love this author and writing style. A one clic or me no matter what the blurb or storyline is, I’ve always enjoyed whatever it was.
This one with the cheating though, was too much for me. Knowing how much he put up with Florrie, and how much he loved her and the fact that he purposely went back to the bar for Amanda and had unprotected sex. Just no.

Wow, what a great story. I didn’t know what was going to happen, and if the company will overcome everything that happens.
I still love Alec and Florrie together, but this book was a hard story to swallow. I wanted to smack them both silly.
This story is Alec and Florrie, how will they overcome everything.
Florrie and Alec were never a typical couple. A miscarriage that blew out a Fallopian tube a few years ago led to the discovery of her endometriosis, and a diagnosis that she was unlikely to ever carry a pregnancy to term
Their later rescue and subsequent guardianship of Reid seemed to make their nuclear family whole. The discovery of blood relations from his birth father leads to a great deal of division, heartbreak and loss – along with a great deal of blame and anger. The possible options open with a child already in the system are very different from some of the more rogue operations that were taken on in more off the radar situations
Can Florrie and Alec, and the rest of the Reed Security family survive the discord and the fallout?
Intense drama and emotional twists
