He’s used to the danger zone.Navy SEAL Wes Marshall is used to nearly dying on a daily basis. But there are worse things than living life in the danger zone. Namely, the friend-zone hell where he currently resides. It was his own damn fault. Considering the woman of his dreams was going through her own personal hell of her father’s murder trial, Wes thought she needed a friend more than a … than a boyfriend. However, as the trial languished on, so did Wes’s opportunity to ask her out. But now the trial is over and more questions are unanswered than before—questions that might get them both killed before they can go on their first date.
Not the friend zone.
Kyla Wells isn’t going to let the man who murdered her father go free. As an IT specialist capable of hacking into the CIA itself if need be, she’s hell-bent on finding out what the San Diego DA’s office couldn’t—or wouldn’t—why her father was murdered. Her best friend, drool-worthy Wes, isn’t going to approve of her investigating. Especially when the data she finds leads her into way more danger than a murder…dropping her into the middle of an international arms deal with the terrorists Wes’s SEAL Team has been trying to capture for months. She’s worked too hard on finding her father’s killer to die now. Besides, she’s going to tell Wes how she feels about him—right after they save the world.

Not sure how I feel about this one. It was a good read but not a great read like the rest of the series. I felt like this one didn’t have as much action and focused more on the dating aspect of the story. If you like the series I would defiantly pick this up, but if you have never read this series I wouldn’t start here. Don’t get me wrong I did like the book, but it moved too slow for me.
Kyla is furious, her father’s murderer just got off and she is not happy about it. The man needs to be taken down and she’s just the one to do it. Fortunately her best friend and Navy SEAL Wes isn’t going to let her throw her life away in such a manner. In the process he just manages to get himself in trouble, but in his mind it was worth it to save her.
Things start to heat up for Wes and his SEAL team, as mission after mission is compromised. The CIA and SEALs are blaming each other and working together becomes more tense by the second.
On the home front, Kyla gets her father’s personal effect back and makes a startling discovery. Her father obviously had many secrets that were dangerous. While not sharing that information with Wes, she does involve her two hacker friends. The three of them work well together and more than once have gathered enough intel to put bad guys away.
Wes finally asks Kyla out and a romantic dinner ends with some sizzle and Wes going wheels up right after. Not the best way to up a relationship status. However this would help him know if Kyla could be with him for the long haul.
Let’s just say Kyla manages to find all sorts of interesting information and trouble finds her.
Once again Paige Tyler takes us on a page-turning, adventure, with Action, romance, sizzle and so much more!
Seal on a Mission is a great story full of intrigue, action, mystery, suspense, danger and romance. The twist and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are well developed and captivating. There are plenty of sparks as Wes and Kayla go from friends to lovers. I enjoyed reading and can recommend.
Wes and Kyla. Best friends to lovers, but you feel the struggle of loving a Seal while reading this, you felt Kyla’s worry and pain. The action, suspense and romance, to me was spot on. After reading this book, I now want to start at the beginning of the series and reread them all.
I’ve missed the SEALS and was not disappointed in the new addition to the series. In true Tyler fashion, there is lots of action, danger, and suspense. There’s even discord between agencies that should be working together but each is pointing fingers at the other. Didn’t want to put it down.
This is book 7 of the SEALs of Coronado series and it can absolutely be read as a standalone although I recommend reading the previous books before this one. In this one we get Wes and Kyla’s story. Wes and Kyla have been friends for a while. And although Wes wants more with her, he doesn’t think that now is the right time to ask her or to put that kind of pressure on her. Not until the murder of her father is resolved. But when the man Kyla believes is responsible is let go, and she does something completely out of character-Wes comes to her rescue and their relationship finally starts changing. Now Kyla has to decide if she can handle Wes being a SEAL and not knowing what is happening when he is away and Wes has to try to keep his woman safe when an unknown enemy comes out to play.
I really liked this one! Wes is the epitome of what makes a man a SEAL. He is alpha, protective, but with this sweet side that you can’t help but love everything about him. Kyla is super smart and sweet but she is a little naive about the bad things that can happen to a person. Together? These two are perfect for each other! There is steam and suspense along with the action that I know I love when you talk about romantic suspense books! My only drawback was when she was deciding if she could handle him being a SEAL-he was already a SEAL when you were best friends, that hadn’t changed. Seemed a bit strange that it all of a sudden became an issue. But otherwise? I thoroughly enjoyed it!
3.5 stars
Suspense, intrigue, friends-to-lovers romance…there’s a lot going on here!
Wes is a SEAL who has been friends with Kyla for several years. SEALs, of course, have many secrets…and, Kyla discovers there’s a lot of secrets surrounding other events in her life (vague on purpose to avoid spoilers!). Both Wes and Kyla secretly want more from their friendship too. Secrets….
This story runs the gamut from sweet to sexy, sad and serious to almost slapstick funny. Ever watched those 1970’s car chase scenes from the cheesy police TV shows? Definitely thought of those scenes at one point.
Wes & Kyla
Wes, part of SEAL Team 5, was living life in danger on every mission. It was a good life. He never really considered having a family as long as he stayed. But having Kyla in the “friend-zone” wasn’t what he wanted either. He’d stayed that way to be her support but how much longer could he keep his feelings to himself.
If they’d been really communicating, he’d know she felt the same and was tired of that particular zone. Yet, when things started to change she didn’t know if she could handle the secrets and danger.
Funny, with her fear for Wes on missions she seemed not to care about taking chances to find out who had killed her father. Finding things about her dad she hadn’t even considered put her in as much or more danger than Wes.
Would they help each other out of trouble and be able to have a life together? Would they even live to try?
Good characters, team loyalty, great storyline, and steam make this another good read from the author. Don’t miss it.
SEAL on a Mission is an entertaining tale of romance and danger. Wes has been half in love with Kyla for what feels like forever. Kyla is a hot mess. When these two finally get together it’s explosive. Danger, intrigue and love; what more could you ask for? This is a fast paced tale that despite being part of a series stands well on its own.
What do you get when you have a book full of action, mystery, suspense, murder, treasonous unknowns and heated passion. Add a Navy Seal and a determined female computer hacker. Answer…. another edge of your seat book by talented Paige Tyler.
