This was a really cool book! I love being able to read adventures from another witch besides Penny. I enjoyed that her mind works differently than Penny’s but is no less agile! Marley’s familiar is very different that Penny’s. Skill is much more serious and formal. I look forward to reading more of Marley’s adventures!
Marley is the central character in this book featuring the witches from Hillcrest. I really enjoyed having the group of witches together again and seeing the story from Marley’s point of view.
Marley has opened a retreat/wellness center for the magical beings. Opening weekend has arrived along with a reviewer, so it’s very important that everything runs smoothly. Sadly, a guest is killed and it’s up to Marley to figure out who the guilty party is before the weekend is over and her new business fails before it can really get started.
I’m looking forward to see what happens in the next book!
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Well I didn’t know what to expect from this book as I loved the previous book’s with Penny being the lead character.
But as I really enjoy the way Amorette writes I wasn’t too surprised that after reading the first few chapter’s I was hooked. I adore Marley and her way of thinking, she likes peace and love not war and hate, my kind of woman
Unfortunately on the first weekend of the grand opening of her spa there’s a murder, which of course she has to solve.
Throw in a busy spa weekend that she has to deal with, and a mysterious recruiter from the spirit realm.
This book is a great supernatural cozy mystery with all of the gang back together
A charming book told from Marley’s point of view. Marley is finally ready for the grand opening of her magical healing center.
Nervous but hopeful that the center will be a success.
A famous reviewer will be at the opening, and Marley is worried that a bad review will mean the end of the center before it even gets going.
Murder, mystery, and laugh out loud moments await you at the healing center.
After getting along with Penny and her coven’s friend, we’re presented to Marley’s story along with a murder mystery. The light fun and smart text of Amorette is definitely there. However, she perfectly brushes the difference between the ways the mystery is solved, as Marley is in a way an opposite to Penny. It’s really good to learn a bit more of Earth Coven witches. Hope we’ll have more of it soon.
We’re back in Hillcrest along with their coven of witches. But it’s not Penny’s story, it’s Marley’s!! Marley is ready to open her magical wellness center. It’s her grandmother’s dream for her. The building is lovely created to her specifications and dreams. The opening is this weekend with a well-known speaker. It’s sold out with 25 people. Before the cocktail hour is halfway through, there’s been a murder. Marley is tasked with finding the murderer by the victim.
I’m so excited to find out more about the witches and especially Marley. Love this book!
Ms Anderson’s books are always a joy to read and hard to put down. The first book in the next series of our friends in HillCrest keeps with her story telling ability. I enjoyed the twists and turns and the way Marley sorta grew up and made decisions about her life and not just go with the flow as Marley likes to do. I wanted to book my retreat by the end of the book I was ready to pack my bag and go reenergize my magic. Thank you as always Amorette for an enjoyable book.
This is the first book of an off-shoot series from The Hillcrest Witches series, and it is a great start. Marley Greene has just opened her new wellness centre for magical beings. Aided by her coven of witches, she is having an opening weekend with a guest speaker – Neil Strongman – an aptly named motivational speaker. The weekend had barely got started when one of the guests was found dead – apparently murdered. Marley promised this person’s ghost that she would find the murderer and bring them to justice. Not a problem – she only had a centre to run with little to no staff. It is just as well that she has magic on her side.
This new series lets us get to know Marley Greene, as the manager of a new retreat for magical beings to come and heal when they feel run down.
With the opening night jitters in welcoming the guests to the retreat, Marley gets an unwanted surprise when a guest turns up murdered! She enlists Skili to help her solve that mystery while at the same time dealing with helping her guests.
The strongman Neil comes to her aid a couple of times to keep the guests at the center even in light of the murder of one of their own. He also has some good advice for Marley to help her decide what she really wants to do!
Amorette is a wonderful author who tells a story that makes you feel “good” inside. It is not only entertaining but has those wonderful “nuggets” to help us all during this life we are all living at present. We know them but we do have a tendency to forget them so its up to Amorette to remind us of them.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone. It’s entertaining and does convey wisdom as well. Not only that but now we get to meet Marley and find out about her!
Do yourself a favor and start this new series with me! I promise you if you’ll reapply the “nuggets” you find within these pages you will be a better person for it!
I received an ARC of this book for a voluntary and honest review.
This book is the first of a new series Marley the Witch that’s a spin-off of MS Anderson’s wonderful The Hillcrest Witches series. Marley inherited her late grandparents property and decided to build a retreat healing center for the magical beings. On opening day all of her booked guests arrived. Within an hour a major incident occurs. A very important guest is found dead. Is it an accident or murder?
This a clean cozy with lovable characters. MS Anderson is well on her way with another wonderful and enjoyable series.
I highly recommend you take a chance on this new book.
5 thumbs up!
This is the first of this series and Amorette has done a great job. Marley is a great witch and has started a project that she has no idea how it is going to end. The plot is wonderful, the characters are full of life and it is for the whole family. I do recommend this book for anybody who wants to read a wonderful book. I will not tell you any more about it, you want to know what happens, you will have to get the book and read it yourself. Thank you.
“Child, here’s a small secret for you. You are never ready to face your destiny. Facing it makes you ready.”
During her vision quest, Marley is tasked by her grandmother to make the mine she has inherited a sanctuary: a safe haven for seekers; to quench the thirst for truth. The story opens with the first weekend program of the Green Center for Magical Living hosting magicals from all the realms, including Carlisle Crimson, his wife and daughter . Carlisle is the “reporter” for the modern version of the Akashic Records: The Record Keeper Reviews. The thing is, once he enters a review, NOTHING can remove it…not even his death.
Now it’s up to Marley to figure out what is next. Can she make things better before the Center crashes and burns? Will the guests stay? Can her coven help? Told through Marley’s voice, it’s a first person look at the healer of the coven, the quiet one. We see Marley really stepping up and taking charge of her vision as well as her abilities. A wonderful addition to the Hillcrest Witch series. Welcome Marley!
Highly Entertaining and Recommended.5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
I would give it 10 stars because I’m THAT glad these characters have returned!! It’s so wonderful to be back with my “friends” from the Witches of Hillcrest series by Ms. Anderson that first introduced them. This time, we visit with them through Marley’s point of view. I thought it would be hard to read more than 13 wonderful books about them based on Penny’s POV then switching to Marley’s POV but, I was able to pick up where the last book ended and was happy to be back with my friends Marley, Penny, Annie, Cora, and Azure. Even if you haven’t read the books from the other series, you will be able to read this book. I suggest you do!!
