Alec: I’m in my thirties and life is…well not boring, but uneventful despite being CEO of the family company. Just how I like it. Then I meet Lumen, a woman who challenges everything in such an irresistible way. For once in my life I can see myself in a relationship. There’s one problem though, she’s off limits. Lumen: Growing up in foster care wasn’t the nightmare for me as it was for some, but … some, but life hasn’t been easy. I work hard, focus on my goals, and I never let things distract me, specifically men and relationships. Until one rainy Seattle night when a gorgeous hunk walks into the spa where I work.
When billionaire Alec McCrae mistakes Lumen Browne’s workplace for a “happy ending” massage parlor, things get more complicated than he prefers. Especially when their lives become entwined in ways never imagined.
Don’t miss Off Limits, the first book in The Scottish Billionaire, M. S. Parker’s latest romance series.

Eight years after The Prequel we can follow Alec in Off Limits. I enjoy The Scottish Billionaire Series immensly, and can hardly wait to read Breaking Rules, the next installment of this series.
The plot is well executed and the storyline makes you root for this couple all the way. Both protagonists are given time to show their thoughts, feelings and insecurities. All the characters are well written, but I enjoyed Evanne’s character the most.

Oh my goodness, this story is amazing. I loved Alec in this one other then at times he wasn’t as confident as I thought he should be but he was amazing. In the prequel I wasn’t as excited with Alec as I am in this story. At times he can act a little better but hey, isn’t that all people. Lumen is an outstanding lady. She has so much spunk and personality. I am glad we get to see her growing throughout this story as well. Their chemistry is incredibly strong. The story is extremely well written and has a fantastic flow to it. Yes it does end in a cliffhanger but the story is extremely good. It is a stunning story that just draws you in and doesn’t let go. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. It is a must read!!!!!

Alec is a bit jaded, he’s in his thirties and so far has not found a woman who he has a good connection with (other that the occasional one that was only on the sexual side). He loves his family, but he is a bit of a workaholic, just like his father. Lumen has lacked family and the sense of belonging to one for a long time, she is working hard to better herself, and a chance meeting with Alec causes sparks to fly, but she resists it. Fate has other plans for them and their paths cross again, but things are going to be complicated. I loved this book, I read the prequel before it that gave me some background into Alec. I loved Lumen, and Alec and I look forward to what happens next, although I will have to wait for the next book.

This story has a feeling to it that is hard to describe. I live that Alec is not only a gentleman, but a gentle man, too. He is so successful – success gained from hard work, planning, etc. but the confidence he has with his comfort area – work- doesn’t carry over to his life. He loves his daughter and has changed what he knows are his personal weaknesses just to be sure he is bringing her up in a happy and secure home.
He meets Lumen and does the “this is just for fun” thing. She accepts that and doesn’t ask for more or contact him on her own, but she knows she is drawn to him. She doesn’t want to impose. They keep running into each other.
I was so into the story I didn’t expect it to end. It needed at a good spot to make me want the next part right now. I can’t wait to see what happens because it’s not just Alec and Lumen that makes the story what it is.

This is a new series by this author and what a way to start. I was sucked in from the start and couldn’t put it down. Definitely read the prequel to this book that gives you a look into his story. When these two meet, there’s a spark, but she’s off limits due to the fact she’s his daughter’s teacher. Loved the start to this series and can’t wait for the next book. I found this book on BookSprout.
Off Limits is not a standalone and ends with you wanting more of Alec and Lumen’s story. It’s a fantastic read. I was sucked right in and couldn’t put it down. It’s steamy and has a single father who wants to do right by his daughter. Alec’s Scottish brogue will melt your insides. I would recommend reading the Prequel prior to Off Limits as it gives you a bit of Alec’s back story. Lumen grew up in the system and has a good head on her shoulders. Just starting out as an 3rd grade teacher at a private elite school, she wants to make a good impression and support the children. She also volunteers at the group home she used to live at.
Off Limits has left a whole lot of holes and leaves you needing the next book to see what happens. I can’t wait!
Once Kelli had told Alec she was pregnant the future was written for him. What he couldn’t anticipate was what would happen when Kelli fell in love and left Evanne with him full time. This is a much slower developing relationship than he had with Kelli. Their start was hardly auspicious and the fact that Lumen is Evanne’s teacher is an added complication. Then there is the slimy Vice-Principal, I am sure he will cause problems in the future but it is a pleasant read and I look forward to the next one.
So freaking good! But definitely not a standalone! That’s my only disappointment.
The pacing was perfect. The sexy time was hot and there was humor mixed with romance. I fell in love with the characters and I’m so nervous for the next book. I NEED it now. And because I’m seriously itching for Breaking Rules to go live, I know Off Limits was that good!
Excellent!
