Emotional. I cried, got angry, smiled, wanted to strangle Mason, and finally settled down. I loved the relationship between Mason and Timmy. I especially liked the grandmother of Mason, she was a perfect foil for Mason. Fiona was a great mother, friend, and girlfriend. I certainly recommend Summer in Colorado by Milan Watson. It is a winner.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Nooo! This just can’t be the last White Horse Creek story. I have loved every one of the books in this series. I highly recommend all of them. This is Fiona and Mason’s road to happiness. How can a bull rider who is not ready to leave the circuit and a widow with a small son ever find their HEA? Just read it and find out.
I loved the book but hated that it ended without a an epilogue.
Fiona Talbot is a widow with a young son, Timmy, and she works in a diner for tips to make ends meet. She doesn’t see herself moving forward in another relation because the one she had with her late husband, Brian, was everything she could have wanted in a partner. She feels like she would be betraying him by moving on.
Mason Pollock is a PBR bull rider with a big name. His Nana, the feared Mrs. Petunia Pollock with the purple-rinse hair and a nose in everybody’s business, asks that he make an appearance at the small fair in White Horse Creek. He has several weeks before his next big rodeo so he agrees to her request.
When the fair begins Fiona takes Timmy to the fair with the promise of just one ride on the Ferris Wheel and a chance to look at the horses in their stalls. When a horse breaks loose and is rampaging toward Timmy, Mason grabs him out of harms way in the nick of time. Fiona is so grateful to Mason for saving Timmy’s life and Timmy is thrilled to have been rescued by a real life bull rider! Mason is his hero, and when Mason gives Timmy some Sno-cone money and invites them to attend the event Timmy can hardly contain himself.
After several encounters where Mason can’t keep his eyes off Fiona, he finally works his way into her life. But he’s used to riding the circuit, waiting for that next big payday. Is Fiona the woman who can ground him permanently, or will he run off like he always has?
Enjoyed reading this book! The bull rider and the waitress with a young son! Neither of them thought that they needed this but nature will take its course! I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is a wonderful addition to this series. I loved the two main characters, Fiona and Mason (also Timmy – Fiona’s son). Also included in this were the prior characters of the series. I loved how they were a part of this book. It was like catching up with old friends.
The way the story is written it is almost like watching a movie play out. The scenes are just so well thought out that I felt like I was right there!
Mason comes to town at the request of his nana, Mrs. Pollack. He is a PBR bull-rider. She talks him into staying after the small fair/rodeo until his next competition in the following month. He rarely stays long but he rescued a small boy from a runaway horse. He is intrigue with the young mother with the violet eyes. Fiona, lost her 26 year old husband to a stroke. In the few years that he has been gone, Fiona hasn’t dated. It has been just her and Timmy. She is afraid of getting her heart broken again. Mason is a bull-rider for heaven’s sake. He won’t stay around. Plus his job is a dangerous one. The chances of injury combined with possible death scare her.
The road for these two is one that you won’t want to miss. While this story can be a stand-alone, I would highly recommend to start at the beginning and get to know the people of White Horse Creek. I would move there if it were a real town!
With the exception of the disrobing and light touching, the author fades to black for the “sexy” scenes.
