One lover is lying. The other will kill them all.Tessa Harrison takes a cruise to Alaska and—just like her love life—the voyage seems doomed. The fact that her ex followed her aboard is bad enough, but this time he’s brought sea monsters. Tessa’s former lover—the Sea King of the fae—isn’t her only surprise visitor on the ship. Maxwell Stokes, captain of the ghost ship Solitude, is a guardian of … the ghost ship Solitude, is a guardian of the gateway between the fae and human worlds. Betrayed by the Sea King, Stokes is determined to get vengeance until Tessa interrupts his plans. She’s fire to his ice, and the result is unexpected steam.
Tessa’s survival means unlocking a destiny she never suspected. Fiercely independent, she holds the key to both men’s future—or their destruction. Both want her power. Both claim she is the only woman they desire. Which one is telling the truth?
Tessa must choose—and the wrong choice could destroy two worlds.
SHATTER is for those who like a good vs evil fantasy adventure with courageous women and challenging heroes.

I enjoyed this continuation of the series and really liked the fact that each book has been dedicated to a different set of fae and their storylines. This book follows the water fae. I enjoyed that the female lead was a strong and brave woman who was torn between the interest of two men even though one was for selfish reasons but I feel these were made up for in the end. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.
The story is good and the plotline was interesting. I didn’t love the writing style, only because it felt like the characters were like Lego people that just flipped their happy and mad faces back and forth the whole time. The story is very fast paced though so that helps.

Tessa Harrison became involved with a man and ended up in over her head. After realizing she didn’t really know Cormac at all and that she needed to get away from him, she takes an Alaskan cruise but Cormac appears on the ship, as does Captain Maxwell Stokes, who guards the gateway between two worlds on his ship Solitude. Cormac turns out to be the Sea King and he aims to use Tessa for his own ends. Stokes also has a need for Tessa, to help him in his mission to protect both worlds. Tessa is caught between two strong, determined men and a decision that will determine the fate of both worlds. There are evil Shades out to wreak havoc, sea dragons attacking the cruise ship, the mystery of Tessa’s origins to figure out, and two sexy, handsome men to deal with, which made this story an exciting adventure all the way to the end.

I decided to read this book 100% by the cover the tentacles spoke to me. I am so glad they did. This book had everything I could have wanted in a story action, romance, mystery, cool sea monsters, magic and a great heroine. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review and boy is this book worth the read. It’s book 2 in a series and I was not aware of that when I picked the book to read because I looked at nothing but the cover but I’ve never had an octopus steer me wrong. So I will go back and read book 1 now that I’m finished with 2, with that being said I did not feel like I missed something not having read book 1 first. I got the just of what was going on some might have just taken longer but it was all there well except I’m still stuck with more questions about the mysterious detective but I’m sure they will be addressed in a later book. I felt the characters were easy to get sucked into and described great. I felt completely pulled into the world of Faery!

This is an epic fantasy of good vs. evil. Evil won the first battle, and we enter the scene when most of the fae have fled Faery and are living in “our” realm.
Tessa is an orphan who doesn’t know her heritage. We first see her when she’s on the run from an ex-lover who Tessa saw kill someone. The ex-lover Cormac shows up on her cruise ship, but Tessa is defended by a “ghost,” Maxwell Stokes.
At this point, events become fantastical, and Tessa is understandably out of her depth. She is being pulled between Cormac and Maxwell. She doesn’t know who to trust. Eventually, we begin to see how Tessa figures into the battle of the fae trying to regain their homeland. But don’t miss the ending! It’s EPIC!
This is slow-burn romance with a lot of players. We only gradually see how everything is related. The overall story arc of Shimmer and Shatter is guaranteed to continue with many more pleasant hours of reading until the final denouement. Grab a copy today!

I so thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the two main characters and the long slow burn until the figure out how much they actually cared for eachother. Oh the ending made this book, the lead up until the final fight scene and the outcome…it is awesome. I of course would recommend this book, read the first book Shimmer so you, the reader, understand what is going on in this the second book. While I’ve;ve read a lot of Sharon Ashwood’s books, these two are hands down the best, in my opinion, that she’s put out in years!

Braking Away
The book is worth reading if you like story of between the realms, sea creatures and people. Let us not forget dragons and ghost that are in between life and death.
The best about the book was the author kept the story line fresh, flowing and exciting so much so that I am ready for the next book in this series.

Book two in the Crown of Fae series. Tessa Harrison goes on a cruise. Her ex, the Sea King shows up and Maxwell Stokes. Who can Tessa trust? What surprises are in store for Tessa? Strong female lead, romance, magic, fae, dragons, and ghosts. Looking forward to book three!

Fantastic Good vs. Evil Story!
This was a really fantastic good vs. evil story with lots of magic thrown in. The story will take you on an adventure into other worlds with magic, fae, shades and dragons. It’s an intense ride of action, adventure and love with an absolutely fantastic and thrilling ending!
I can’t wait to read where this author takes us next in this series! It has already been quite the adventure!
Spend most of a day with this NC17 sequel to Shimmer in which Captain Maxwell Stokes and Tessa Harrison (no relation to this reviewer) take on the Shades.

Action packed Magic!
This is a new author for me and I will definitely be reading more of Sharon ashwoods books. The plot totally drew me in and the author painted if Vivid picture a world where the mortal world is barely separated from the magic one. The writing was very descriptive and I really liked the concept of Shimmer.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes magic and action with battles and romance thrown in. I received a free copy but my review is voluntary and honest.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. I loved the world the author created. The story was wonderfully written, the storyline is incredible, and the characters were fantastic. A great story and I can’t wait to read the next book.
