After six months, the stress of the House Valdis expansion is starting to take its toll on everyone. Xenobia has taken her time with the transition in an effort to show the former House Muerte members that she is not like their former Master. Unfortunately, her good intentions have left the way wide open for insurrection. An unsanctioned blood den is discovered, and in the process of … investigating the parties involved, an unexpected enemy is revealed. The new discovery sends Xenobia on a trip down memory lane. Will she find that her memories are the solution to victory, or will they only be there to haunt her forever? This book will be best enjoyed after reading the first book in this series, The Rise of House Valdis. The House Valdis series is intended for readers 18+.

This the second book in the series and I highly recommend reading the first book in the series. This will provide you with the back story and introduce the characters. The description is a fantasy genre but it has many more elements in the story. There is sci-fi, danger, responsibility, secrets, tension, romance and magic to name a few. When the author has a vivid imagination, it makes the story come to life. It is what holds my attention from the very first page until the last page. Character building and relations also keeps the book interesting. In this particular story, I enjoyed the roller coaster ride I took with Xenobia. Xenobia’s storyline continues in book two. She is getting into every bit of trouble, not by her doing but by shadows she does not realize they are around. Danger is present and there is a crisis in the House of Valdis. There is drama and adventure around every corner. I will leave the review with this keep your mind totally open and the images will come to you. Enjoy the series and I cannot wait until the next book.
It Comes From Within by Naomi Valkyrie is the second book in the House Valdis series. I highly recommend reading the first book before this because most of the characters are introduced there. This is a multi-faceted and complex fantasy book. The characters, especially Xenobia, are really deep and interesting. I really enjoy the storyline and it is interesting to see where the author is taking the story. I like the multiple layers of story and character development going on because it pushes the pace of the book and makes it almost impossible to set it down. This is not always one of my favorite genres but Naomi Valkyrie is making a convert of me. She writes and tells a story very well and keeps this reader engaged until the very last page. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I loved this book! This is the second book in this series and it just keeps getting better and better! I would most defidently recommend reading this series in order to get the best reading experience possible. They’re all fantasic and its awesome to see all the characters grow and see the where they are now. Xenobia is our main character and she is awesome! She is determined to show that she is not like the ones that came before her but the road she is on is a tough one! I read this book fairly quickly and i enjoyed all the the action that it held. I am looking forward to more by this author and i can’t wait to see what she puts out next!
Happy Reading!
It Comes From Within is the second novel in the House Valdis series by Naomi Valkyrie. This is my third novel by this author.
Following the events of the previous books, six months have passed and Xenobia is feeling and stress and pressure of the responsibility she now has. Trying to merge the houses is taking a lot of time and energy especially when trying to show that she is not like the former Master.
When a blood den is discovered, the enemy will be surprising.
This had me on the edge of my seat. It had been a while since I read the first book, but reading the first page, felt like I never left. I could not put this book down.
Mystery, action-packed, and compelling writing. Sometimes the change of POVs can be very confusing, but here it added more to the story.
I can’t wait for the next book.
It Comes From Within by Naomi Valkyrie was an incredible sequel in the House Valdis series! I think I liked it better than I did the first book! Much more interesting in my opinion, more suspense and action, and more character development. I was enthralled the whole time reading and could hardly put the book down! I’m also glad I read the Xenobia Origin story before reading this one, it definitely helps with some of the characters that were introduced in this installment! I fell in love with this book and I can’t wait to read the next part of the series! I highly recommend this read!
5 stars!
Fun! I thought this book was a lot of fun to read. There were a lot of characters to keep track of, and if you are like me and didn’t read the first book then you may get slightly confused. I still pushed through and was happy I did. I would highly recommend you read the first book so you can get some background on all of the characters you will be reading about, which will help you figure out what is happening in this book and what relationships they have with each other. I did read House Valdis Origins so I was at least able to get a glimpse at Xen and Urd. I like how each chapter told whose point of view I was going to be reading, that helped with figuring out what was going on. From where Xen started to where she is now, it seems like she really made something of herself and has been surrounded by people that truly care about her. The relationship between her and Matthew and Onyx is crazy, but in my mind I’m hoping she can sever the ties that hold them together and can be with Chiamaka, I feel like there is something there for them. The twist with the white queen had my mind blown! I loved how the story flowed and all the drama involved around House Valdis. This is not my usual genre but this book really intrigued me with the story and how nicely the characters were developed. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series I’ve read this year. Probably a good thing my kindle doesn’t have physical pages, I couldn’t put this down! I’m so excited for the next book!
It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2)
By Naomi Valkyrie
5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I love the character of Xenobia. She is the head of House Valdis. She also is feeling the strain of that leadership. I love that Xenobia is intelligent, strong, and independent. She is also considerate of those around her and truly cares about them. What will happen when situations begin to overwhelm her? What will happen when the past collides with the future? Read this book to find out. This is a character-driven book. It tells the story from the POV of many of them and you get a chance to find out more about them and the part that they play in the story. For some characters, this is an emotional journey and for others, it is a time of self-discovery. I love fantasy books and this one is a good example of why. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I felt like I was right there with them. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that you won’t want to put down. I would recommend reading these stories in order for a better experience. You won’t be disappointed.

It Comes From Within is the second book in the House Valdis series by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a very engrossing, and complex paranormal fantasy with a multi-layered storyline full of sci-fi elements, action, danger, violence, responsibility, suspense, secrets, vendettas, humour, tension, dramatic developments, romance, chemistry, hidden agendas, and magic.
We met the majority of the cast back in Book One, so it was great to pick up with them again. Xenobia is still trying to come to terms with what occurred (in Book One) and all the added responsibility that brings. Merging the two houses and all the restructuring has taken time and a lot of energy. She is feeling the pressure and isn’t sure how much more she can take. It seems like she’s leaping from one crisis right into another. Then someone begins targeting House Valdis- danger is mounting, with a mysterious and malevolent adversary plotting from the shadows, one who has no intention of playing by the rules and is hell bent on winning at all cost, things escalate pretty quickly. With a lot riding on the outcome- the level of intensity was definitely set on HIGH- I was hanging on every word. I soooo need the next book…. STAT!!!
I really recommend reading the previous book before starting on this one as this isn’t a standalone story, with the storyline bridging from the first book to this one. There is also a Prequel, which will add even more texture and provide important backstory. I loved that this book builds on what we already know, adding more facets to an already intriguing story.
Brilliant!!
Thank you, Naomi Valkyrie!
I loved this book. It is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading to help you enjoy this series more. It is great seeing where the characters come from and where they are now. I have read every one of this author’s books, I think this is among my favorites by her. It is a shorter story that I found to be full of action and kept me turning pages fast. Xenobia is back in this book with determination to prove to everyone that she is not like their previous leader. What will happen when a blood den along with some enemies is found? Will it produce memories that are a solution or will they just haunt her? This is such a fast paced story that I lost track of time reading it. The details made it fun, easy and entertaining to read. I highly recommend picking up this book and others by this author today.
It Comes from Within (House of Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie
5 +++++ Stars
I must mention before anything else that this genre is NORMALLY not my chosen genre, but this author has taken this to a new level for me and I’m so invested in this whole story and in all of these characters to a point that I already want to go back and read all again. Real life didn’t exist while I read this book. It was leftovers for supper and less sleep than normal. Phenomenal job!!
There are a lot of people to keep track of in this book, a lot of moving parts to keep straight. What Miss Valkyrie did with the different chapters and the many different POV’s allowed me to connect to each character in a way that made this story that much better for me. I was so engrossed in every page that I did have to force myself to slow down so that I could keep everyone and everything compartmentalized. Once I did that and focussed on every word it was, simply put, completely amazing.
This part picks up a little bit after book 1 ended and I’m not going into too much of the storyline because I will not give away anything that will take away the enjoyment of experiencing this story except to say…I would NOT attempt reading this as a standalone, it wont work. You wont understand some of what happens or feel the impacts without book 1. I’ve sat and thought about who my favorite character is next to Xen of course and I can not come up with a favorite besides maybe Matt, he makes me smile. I just love the family feel and the loyalty portrayed in this story.
I can not wait for the next book in this series, the twist in this book was a complete game changer for me and the path Xen has decided to take could make things even more interesting.
