What if everyone witnessed your most humiliating moment?
For teenager Allison Moore, caught making out with her BFF’s brother, Tanner Armstrong, was embarrassing enough…having it become a viral internet sensation was much, much worse. Alli’s spent the past nine years protecting her identity from trolls and bullies, settling in the small seaside town of Bounty Bay. Only her family and close … family and close friends know who she was and the reason she doesn’t give her trust easily. Thanks to being publicly labelled as the Ugly Duckling Virgin, Alli has said goodbye to trust and avoided intimate relationships with men.
Tanner Armstrong transformed himself from a self-absorbed young man who narrowly avoided an internet scandal with his sister’s friend, into a man who’s used his skillset to create an App to combat online bullying. A Silicon Valley success story, obsessive, driven Tanner flies home to New Zealand for his sister’s wedding, and he’s caught off guard when Alli reappears in his life. Unhealed emotional wounds open, but reignites a passion neither is prepared for.
For The Ugly Duckling Virgin to give the man who almost ruined her life a second chance at her heart, their foundation must be built on trust. Only both of them are keeping secrets that could drive a final wedge between them…

more
This is book 7 in the Bounty Bay series and it features Alli and Tanner. This is a semi sweet second chance romance. The first time around was so brief and disastrous that it took years for her to learn to live with the consequences. I did NOT like that he partnered with Chris after everything that went down. All that showed me was that he never understood the enormity of the situation.
This story deals with a serious matter, cyber bullying. It can ruin peoples lives or at least damage them for years. The story line was good and the characters were fantastic. I loved that we got to see some characters from previous books but it didn’t FEEL like a Bounty Bay book. As always, I’m looking forward to the next one.
I love it so much when I see that Ms. Alvarez has another book coming out. And as has been the case with all the others (yes, I have read all of her books), I was hooked and invested from the first page.
After a disastrous night at a friend’s birthday party when she was a teenager, Alli Moore never thought she would see Tanner Armstrong again. So when he sneaks back into her life many years later, her world is turned upside down in a way that she’d never imagined.
While Trust Your Heart is an emotional ride, you immediately get the sense from the opening paragraph that, not only will the book be tender and full of warm fuzzies, it will also be peppered with humor that keeps you smiling until the last page.
The author writes great characters and picturesque settings. You can feel the sand beneath your feet, hear waves greeting the shore and see steam misting the bathroom. And the duel Kiwi/San Fran connection was a nice touch.
Tanner and Alli were perfect for the roles created for them. Not only do you get a real sense of how they have grown and matured since they were teenagers, but also how one act of jealousy and betrayal can have ramifications for years to come.
I thought the author handled the subplot of cyber bullying with care and realism. Humiliation is a lonely cross to bare, and many people suffer this injustice in private.
I enjoyed this book so much and have no hesitation in recommending it. One more thing. If any of you don’t know what a Tim Tam is, google it. They are truly delicious.
The only thing I hated about this book is that it took me so darn long to finally get it read, which because of the shut down our world is in, it wasn’t intentional not to get this amazing book finished. It’s been a bit since this author has released a book, so trust me when I say, I was very excited to get my hands on it. Alli and Tanner’s story was a pretty emotional one, given all of the bullying going on in the world today over the air waves, but the author dives in and exposes the raw devasting effects it can have on a person who is targeted. I loved the chemistry between these two characters, but I will tell you, Alli is much more forgiving than I would ever be after being hurt so deeply. Loved the steamy parts, loved the closeness of Alli and her tribe, and really loved this couple together. Alli’s final article really hit home with those who are victimized by any type of unwanted behavior, kudos to Tracey Alvarez for writing about it in such an eloquently well written story. Loved it!

Another trip to Bounty Bay–count me in!
Trust Your Heart is a second chance romance, of sorts–their “first chance” was just a first kiss with really, really lasting implications–but it’s one that truly works. “First chance” Alli and Tanner were 18 and 22, respectively, and Tanner made some real strides between then and their “second chance” to change the trajectory of his life from the entitled bro he was in danger of becoming to a hero who actually deserved a second chance.
Alli changed too–she had to–but what she most needed at 18 was to grow up, which she was forced to do all too soon because of what happened after the kiss. She made her biggest strides during the course of the book, learning to trust again and let more people into the very small and select bubble she’d been in for the past several years.
Watching the two of them grow close–even when I wanted to knock Tanner upside the head for the secret he wasn’t telling Alli–was a whole lot of fun. When the inevitable blowup happened (see: secret he wasn’t telling) it wasn’t OTT or overblown. The appropriate parties did what they needed to do to bring us to an HEA, and I closed the book with a smile–already looking forward to my next trip to the island 🙂

Another great Tracey Alvarez.
CAn Allison trust Tanner with her heart again after the most embarrassing moment of her life eight years ago almost broke her forever?
Trust Your Heart by Tracey Alvarez
Bounty Bay #7
Have you ever wondered what happens to those who bully or are bullied in school by others? Do they survive, thrive or give up and commit suicide? What determines the direction a high school student will move in when they graduate and does what happened in high school impact decisions they make?
Allie’s life was changed significantly in high school by a video posted online. It was humiliating and the voice narrating what happened was mean and hurtful. Allie ran and hid rather than confronting what happened. She does move on over time but that one painful experience has been used to close herself off in ways that are hard to change.
Tanner Armstrong is the young man caught kissing Allie on the video that went viral. He was young and did not handle the situation well. When Allie and Tanner meet again nearly a decade later they have some issues to deal with but they also experience a great deal of chemistry. The two may get together eventually but only if they can truly trust one another…and that is not easy.
What I liked:
* Allie: from adversity she developed strength. She has a strong support system in Bounty Bay and her friends are there for her
* Allie’s friends are wonderful…hope to hear more about some of them in the future.
* Tanner: intelligent, giving, communicates, willing to make amends and puts his heart on the line
* That the characters in the book are all responsible adults that communicate with one another.
* Seeing that sometimes the bully can have issues to deal with later (if they have a conscience) just as the bullied does.
* The way the topic was dealt with
* The HEA at the end
What I did not like:
* Reading the last page and having to say goodbye to the characters in Bounty Bay
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
I enjoy the Bounty Bay series. Tracey Alvarez is an author who I normally just inhale a new book when it comes out. A book I pick up and read through in one sitting. Trust Your Heart was a book I struggled with for some reason. It took me a couple of tried before I could really get into it.
The whole past situation with Tanner and Alli had me wondering what completely awful thing had he done that had her so traumatized and caused her to sever her relationship with her best friend, who happened to be his sister. I kept thinking that it was 8 years later. So much growth occurs between 18 & 26. Then I thought, maybe not, If something traumatic happens to you at 18.
What I realized is that I was spending more time analyzing the book rather than enjoying reading the book. After finding out what happened 8 years ago, the only thought I had was “That’s it?” Yes, it was embarrassing, but it made me look at Alli differently.
I could not, as hard as I tried understand why Tanner got blamed. Was it because he didn’t react the way she thought he should? I don’t know.
As Tanner and Alli reconnect, he continues to hold a secret, knowing full well that it will blow up in his face. How stupid could he be? I was done. For the first time I can recall in a Bounty Bay romance, I didn’t care about either one of them. Or cheer for their HEA. It was just, whatever.
I did like revisiting Bounty Bay, the descriptions of the area, and characters from previous books. I also felt like Tanner and Alli had a connection, but their behavior kept me from liking their characters. Alli’s pity party and Tanner’s secret made me wonder if either of them had really grown from 8 years ago.
I like to immerse myself into a book. Get into the flow, and experience a bit of escapism. I just found myself not experiencing the warmth, romance, and sensuality that I usually find. Maybe it’s the current situation we all find ourselves in. I don’t know. This was an OK read, but it didn’t take me where I wanted to go.
I would still definitely recommend that you read it and judge for yourself.

Your heart will love this read
In this touching story of overcoming humiliation and reclaiming your self confidence, Allison is stronger than she gives herself credit. Finding a home in Bounty Bay she has been adopted by the locals and she and her friends group support each other always. Especially when confronted by her past in real life. The writing style of this book drew me in, these characters capture your heart and take you through all of the “feels”. The storyline could be ripped from today’s social media, but the twists all work for good, mostly. Loved this heart wrenching tale.
This is a great second chance read which shows how damaging cyberbullying can be. What should have been a minor embarrassment changed Allison’s life but it also changed Tanner and Chris’s lives. Small town Bounty Bay seems the unlikely setting for worlds to collide but this is where Tanner gets the chance to set things right with Allison. This is a touching story with great characters and as always it it great to reconnect with old friends in this series.
Trust Your Heart, by Tracey Alvarez, deals with cyber bullying. Good topic to tackle. Sweet and sexy second chance romance. Good humor. Likable characters. Interesting plot and descriptions of places. I love Ms Alvarez’s writing style, and this story did not disappoint. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
