College love isn’t supposed to last forever… but he can’t stop thinking of her.
Will he be able to win her back after all these years?
High school was a harsh time for Kat and Trent, two young, ambitious dreamers building who they were as people, and who they were to each other. As Trent became more passionate and physical with his girlfriend, Young Katherine never felt comfortable with … physical with his girlfriend, Young Katherine never felt comfortable with tickles and kisses, wishing rather to talk and dream, together. As they came to realize they wanted to share their ambitions differently, they fell apart, as growing youths often do.
Years later, Kat built her post graduate career in giving nature tours, helping park rangers, and protecting the wild woods and majestic mountains that have welcomed her passions for nature and brightened her spirits. She adores her time spent protective the most beautiful miracles nature has to offer, so much so that she is devastated to learn that a banking firm is coming to explore the possibility of cutting through it in the name of progress and business. And Kat’s regret only grows when it turns out the executive sent to examine the forest for cutting, is non other than her former beau Trent, now a successful industry executive in his own right.
How can two ambitious dreamers, each with their own goals for the future, come to terms with each other, when so much history of conflict exists between them? And how can all the regrets, all the longings, and all the abandoned passions of their pasts bring them together in mutual understanding, and even a desire to come together once more?

What the Heck was That?
The description of this book makes you think it will be a second-chance romance, but it really isn’t even a romance at all. It is super short, somewhere around 10K words, so no matter what it would be about, there wouldn’t be much depth. The hero and heroine don’t actually meet until a third of the way through, which would be too long for a meet-cute to happen in a standard romance. Unfortunately, this is not a standard romance at all. It is simply a rehashing of a youthful relationship and exploration of that. The way the author depicted them as teenagers didn’t seem accurate to the way teenagers actually act or think. The book didn’t end on any sort of an HEA or even an HFN. The only good part about this book is the author had an excellent description of the park and how the heroine felt about it at the very beginning. Other than that, there really wasn’t much to this book, and certainly not a romance of any sort. I find myself utterly disappointed.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
The third book in the Love Reunion series and I will say I was looking forward to a different ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
3.5 stars
I’ve read the other books written by Kendra Roberts and I have to say this is my least favorite. If you’re looking for a happily ever after, you may want to give this book a pass. Kat and Trent were high school sweethearts, until Kat broke up with him. Jump to Kat now working at Fawn Lake National Park. She’s been chosen to meet with the bank executive to discuss their wanting to build a pipeline through the park. Trent is the bank executive sent to talk. This story had a lot of potential, but the characters and storyline were both lacking, in my opinion. Some people will love this fast read, so don’t let my opinion put you off of reading. Grab your copy and make your own decision.

Kendra Roberts is a fairly new author and this is the last book of her current trilogy. This is a quick, short read that is full of emotion. The main characters are Katherine (Kat), and Trent who had been sweethearts in school but had parted ways. On one particular day Kat (who is now a park ranger) is supposed to give a tour to a banking executive who was wanting to finance a pipeline through the Fawn Lake National Park. Imagine Kat’s frustrations that someone wants to put a pipeline through the park. Imagine Kat’s surprise when the bank executive exits the SUV.
I received the book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this series. Can second chances work out? Trent and Katherine get the chance to find out by looking back to find out and to finally to talk about the past.
