TROYTo inherit the family fortune, I must marry a woman. But first, I get one night of passion with a man. I just wish I could share it with someone who would treat me more like a lover than a customer. After all, it’s my first time. My only time.PARKAlesto Markin sics his werewolf lackey on anyone who can’t pay him back. One bite, and my life as I know it will be over. My only hope of paying off … know it will be over. My only hope of paying off my staggering debt is by selling something I never planned to sell.
I just didn’t expect the man who hired me to be young. Or sweet.
I certainly didn’t expect to fall in love with him.
Of Paper and Wood is a sweet love story of two men who share many firsts together in the most unexpected of places. In a world of wands and werewolves, where their fate is either rags or riches, being together could cost them everything.
While Amy Bellows normally writes books set in the omegaverse, Of Paper and Wood is not. You can still expect magic, humor, and a big HEA.

Troy and Park
Awwww this was such a sweet story! Two innocent young guys, together they have many firsts. This all sprinkled with some magic and there you go… an awesome story.
I’m a big fan of magic wands.
Park is in debt with a cruel man. He wants help from his godfather Alistair who runs a brothel. He wants to give his virginity as a rent boy for big money. Never could he imagine his first client Troy was as impressed with him as he was with Troy. One night isn’t enough.
Together with some breathtaking side stories, this story was more than enjoyable.
Beautiful maybe simply because it was gentle, sweet, considerate, surprising, and very entertaining. And let’s not forget the style of writing awesome!
I like werewolves but wizards and magic wouldn’t be something I would normally read but because it’s Amy and I’ve read everything she has wrote I decided to give it ago. From the very first page I was hooked. It was a cross between and fairy tale from 100s of years ago to a more Morden fairy tale it was just fabulous.
Park has had to take a loan from a loan shark but the interest is so high he is never going to get it paid back. When he approaches Alistair For a job in his brottle little did he know how much would change.
Troy is gay and has known he is gay for as long as he can remember. But he can’t ever act on it because he is he heir to the Windsor fortune. To appease him his father hired him a Virgin hooker for a month but sometimes money isn’t everything.
We also get a little bit of Richard (Troy’s father)and Alistairs history.
low angst magic and wands it’s so fun…
Do you remember a while back when Shia LaBeouf made that odd video where he yelled ‘just do it’ over and over again? I feel like that could be me now, except I’d be yelling ‘just read it’. This book is amazing. I adored the characters (who were both perfectly imperfect). Troy and Park were just so adorable together, so lovely and heart-warming and I wanted, desperately, for them to get their HEA.
In theory, this was a historical romance which, in all honesty, is something I tend not to gravitate towards but I am so glad I read this. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read some amazing historical romances, but for whatever reason I tend to prefer modern-day or futuristic settings. I actually really adored the world that was created and I didn’t find myself distracted by it (which is usually where I fall down with historical romances). Amy Bellows is fantastic about building a world you can completely immerse yourself in and this story is no different. I would happily read a whole series set in this world (historical or not!).
Troy and Park… what can I say, I just fell in love with them both. Life was not all roses for either of them, but they were still such loveable and believable characters. Despite that, they were able to find something special with each other. Whilst initially they seemed so different, I think at their heart they were kindred spirits and their time together made each other better. I loved the way they were both written; I felt invested in them being able to find their HEA. Also, as I’m coming to expect with Amy Bellows, the sex was both steamy and yet so sweet.
I’m hoping we’ll see more – in all honesty, I’m not really ready to say good bye to these two and I want to be able to wallow in their future happiness.
Needless to say, I wholeheartedly recommend reading this – prepare to fall in love!
Loved it! Park and Troy were adorable and so sweet together. Lots of funny and steamy moments. I really enjoyed the world building in this one and the mixture of wizards and werewolves. Lots of great side characters you can’t help but be invested in, too. I loved getting allister and Sam’s story too. I finished this one pretty quickly, but I always have a hard time putting down books from this author the moment I start them. The pages basically turn themselves.
Cute and sweet! What’s more, the setting was really intriguing! World building is always a plus!
I love how much development was built into the story and how lovable the MCs were!
I adored this book!!!
No spoilers of any kind included.
I thought Of Paper And Wood was pretty awesome.
The story sucked me in and would not release me until I got to the of the book where I was left wanting and needing more.
But then again every story that I read by Amy Bellows I’m left wanting more.
So yeah I am going to say yes I most definitely do recommend this book because I absolutely loved it and I know you will too.

Troy and Park were so sweet and my heart just broke for them.
Both caged in and held back by horrific situations.
Once they meet their chemistry is amazing.
As they get to know one another and realize just how perfect they are for each other, they face a life changing moment.
Are they brave enough to be completely vulnerable with each other and risk everything for the promise of true love?
I really enjoyed the magic and paranormal aspects of the storyline, it’s completely different from the author’s usual fare and it is an absolute hit.
The secondary cast of characters were very well developed and lent additional strength to the story.
I hope the author continues in this world, I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open.
really enjoyed this book especially with the paranormal aspect of it. It’s different from other books I have read but I did enjoy the sweet and sometimes steamy read.
I was really excited about this book because it’s something different from the author. It was a really cute read, so I’m happy about it.
First, the cover. I think I’m the only one who don’t like it, but come on, it says nothing – the colors are gorgeous, but the Elder Wand (from Harry Potter) is no fit for this. Yes, they’re using wands, but there are many wands on the internet, why this typical one?!
The story was good, but I wanted more about this magic world – so the world building is a bit deficient. This isn’t a fantasy book with romance. No. It’s a romance book with a touch of fantasy.
The two main character – Troy and Park – they were lovely. I liked reading about them and about their first times. It’s rare to find two virgin in one book, and it was really good. The sexy scenes were really good and hot, and the romance scenes with all the kissing was super sweet.
The side characters were interesting too, Alaistair, Sam, Danielle – I liked all of them.
It was a good story.
Oh my God I loved this book so much!!! The world building was amazing! I really liked the magic system in this world and the werewolf lore. Troy and Park were adorable together and I loved their chemistry and their story. The side characters in the book were also amazing and had so much depth. My heart ached for all of them. Danielle, Alistair, the werewolves, I even felt sympathy for Troy’s father.
The author’s writing style was beautiful and I really really hope we’ll visit this world again. I’m hooked!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
