Can the big bad biker really protect me and my daughter?
On the run with my baby daughter, I never expected to end up surrounded by massive bikers. I’ve seen the violence that gangs can do, and I’m not sure a motorcycle club is any different. But Maverick might be able to change my mind about Hell’s Ankhor. When I show up on his doorstep with a busted car and a baby in my arms, he doesn’t … a baby in my arms, he doesn’t hesitate to take us in. And from the moment I see him, I know I want more.
It’s crazy to even think it. My violent ex is coming for me, and I can’t put anyone else in danger. But even more important is protecting baby Grace. And Maverick and his club are just the men to help. I think I’ve finally found my match in this gigantic biker’s arms. Can I trust that this time the story will end in a happily ever after? Or will my past crash into our lives and ruin the family we could have together?
Maverick is book four in the Hell’s Ankhor m/m MC series. Read for a slow burn that will ignite the flame within Maverick showing just how far he will go to keep Jonah and his daughter safe.

Sometimes, you’re not running from, you are running to! Jonah is running from an abusive well connected ex, Dylan. His daughter Gracie is with him and his reason for living. His car is struggling, so he looks for a garage. It is storming badly, his car is smoking but Gracie is peacefully sleeping in the back. He finds a light on in the Ankhor garage and insistently knocks in wet desperation. Maverick, jerks open the door and greets him with a gun. When Maverick realizes, he is with baby, he puts the gun behind his back but still looks at Jonah with suspicion. The enforcers arrive busting in the doors with their guns drawn. Although they were huge fierce looking gun toting men, Jonah was determined to keep Gracie safe and ensure the men, not curse in front of her. Maverick felt drawn to Johan and Gracie and offered a room for the night and to fix the car. Jonah knew that Dylan would pursue him and possibly find him. His plan was to run as far as he could go. Can Maverick fix his car? Does Dylan find him? Can he stay ahead of Dylan? How attached does Maverick get to Gracie, or Jonah? Excellent story. I really liked getting to know Maverick. Dylan was an amazing survivor. Blade is still doing a good job. The Club is still thriving. Crave is still on the loose. Well done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an beautiful, slow-burn MM/MC romance with a well-paced plot that is filled with some intriguing situations & has good scene descriptions/world building. There are character crossovers from the previous books but this book can be read as a standalone although I would recommend reading the series in sequence to fully understand the underlying story-line. The characters have good chemistry between them & are quite unique with their different outlooks on life & this actually complementing them. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a artistic young male omega (Jonah) with his baby daughter (Grace) are on the run from his dangerous & devious ex-fiancée (Dylan) is caught in a storm with a broken car but somehow manages to land on the doorstep of a garage & comes into contact with a Hell’s Ankhor MC rider (Maverick), MC riders, law enforcement, intrigue, drama, twists & turns, abduction, some action, adventure, secrets, memories, manipulations, abuse, injuries, threats, danger, distrust, suspicions, protectiveness, confrontations, disagreements, regrets, compromises, trust, misunderstandings, some violence, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a wonderful well-deserved satisfying conclusion for this couple with a interesting ending that could be paving the way for the next book in this series & I look forward to the next book in this series with great anticipation.
Maverick is working in his bike shop late when night when a loud knocking alerts him to his door. Jonah is standing on the other side, his daughter Grace clutched to his chest as Maverick points a gun at his face. For first meetings, this probably isn’t off to a good start. But, Jonah’s car broke down and he’s on the run from an abusive-ex and Maverick might just be what Jonah’s always been looking for in a partner. However, Marverick is part of Hell’s Ankor and Jonah doesn’t want to get involved with a bad boy biker in a gang. As the months past, Jonah starts letting his guard down and realizes that these men may be the family that he’s always been searching for.
I loved this book! I read the first 3 books in these series in a span of 2 days. I am so obsessed with this series! Hell’s Ankor is a warm family and Aiden Bates creates these characters that have you routing for each men to get the happy ending they deserve. Maverick has been one of the lesser known characters leading up to this book, so I really liked finally seeing the man behind the name. He is a sweet and caring man that will do anything for the one’s he loves and this is evident as he slowly begins to fall for Jonah and his baby Grace. Jonah is a shy, timid soul, who has hidden his identity behind his ex and Maverick is just the man to help Jonah rebuild his life, and maybe it can happen with him. I cannot stress enough how much this novel moved me, I was lost in the men, the story and I am eagerly waiting for Tex’s story next!
