Death’s Shroud by Robbie Cox is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read the rest of this wonderful series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about magic and suspense.

I’ve read several books written by Robbie Cox; he has done a great job at writing a good book; he is becoming one of my favorite authors. I will definitely be reading more of his books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

DEATH’S SHROUD is the first book in the The Cauldron Coven series by Robbie Cox and a spin-off of the the Warrior of the Way series. This continued storyline quickly draws you in, dragging you deep into the never ending war with evil. You will find yourself entertained, laughing at some of the situations and horrified by others. This story is filled with plenty of twists, turns, and battles. The characters in this novel are well written, interesting and fun whether they are demons, ghosts, or just plain human.
Be careful what you dream – Death is stalking the dreams of a small town of Harbor City and the morgue is filling up and the coroner has no answer to cause of death.
Laci Valentine is so tired of the evil she has seen and the death of her friends. She wants to give up her magic and leave her coven, never have anything to do with magic again. Then she is confronted by a stranger called Nazareth, he tells her that her magic is needed, claiming she is a speaker to the dead, a bridge between this life and the afterlife; a necromancer just like him. She must take up her magic and learn more from him or more will die horribly. She is needed to fight Death, it is her destiny.
I was lost in the first few chapters as I hadn’t read the Summerlands, but it all quickly come together and I started turning pages faster. Over all, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Laci’s future adventures and what happens with Kayla and the Daughters of Darkness in book 2. Definitely recommend this story.

Great start to the new spinoff to Warrior of the Way series. The author does a great job continuing the story seamlessly and sets off the new one beautifully. He brings strong, well developed characters and weaves an interesting and entertaining read. It’s well written, moves fluidly and has me looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Death’s Shroud is an intricate spin off from the Warrior of the Way series by this author. He does cover all the pertinent parts so you don’t feel lost. This book takes Laci broken and confused from events in the previous series and starts her on a new path one that is strewn with trials and troubles but has the potential to restore her reason for being. I enjoyed this tale and can’t wait to see where the author takes us from here.
AM I MISSING A PREQUEL?
DEATH’S SHROUD is the first book in the Cauldron Coven series. Because this is a continuing series, these will need to be read in the order of release.
This was the first book in the series, but it felt like I was missing a previous story. There was so much reference to previous happenings, that I was left to wonder if I had missed a prequel. Everything was explained, but it still felt like I should have read a previous story.
I enjoyed learning about the hellhounds, necromancers, witches, the dybbuk, and the apprentice lore master elf. I quickly fell in love with Laci, Jayden, and even Regina.
It was beautifully woven story, just an information dump for someone not already in the know for the back story (Looking at the titles, I wonder if perhaps this is a spin off of Warriors of the Way series?) I already have the next book in this series, and I will be reading it right away. I’m hoping that I as I dive into more of this coven’s life, I will become more invested in these characters.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is an awesome read and continuation of the Warrior of the Way series. Even with it being a spin off of another series you don’t need to have read the other to read this one. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
A new series by an author that really knows his words and realms! Death’s Shroud has some references to Cox’s Warrior of the Way series, which I did not read all of. This story was still good even though something happened in that first series that has affected the members of The Murky Cauldron. This story has many characters, some new to this series and some obviously from the first.
This story has demons, ghosts, and regular ol’ humans all trying to win the right to rule. I really enjoyed the escape into the Summerlands with Laci and her adventure to discovering herself.
I am looking forward to Laci’s future adventures and what happens with Kayla and the Daughters of Darkness in book 2! Definitely recommend this story.
