Olympia Anderson doesn’t like the military, but she has a special disliking for Navy. Not only does she blame the Navy for the disappearance of her twin brother, but she believes they’ve done nothing to find him. As a matter of fact, she thinks they are covering it up and she will stop at nothing to find out what really happened, including breaking into her next-door neighbors condo who she … believes was the last one to see her brother.
Landon Asher has had his share of pain and heartache. Six years ago, at the ripe old age of twenty-four, he lost his wife and six-month-old baby to a tragedy. He’s done his best to pick up the pieces of his life and move forward, but a part of him has one foot in the past and the rest is dedicated to his brothers in arms. That is until his sexy neighbor climbs through his window one evening and tugs at his heartstrings, reminding him about the young lieutenant who had suddenly disappeared without a trace.
The more he investigates, the more he realizes something isn’t right.
And his digging just put Olympia in the line of fire.

Olympia and Landon have both been through what no one should have to go through. Olympia’s brother is missing. Landon tragically lost his wife and baby. They work together to solve the disappearance of brother Asher. Along the way they learn about each other and themselves as well. Learning to trust after going through bad times isn’t easy. Characters were believable and the story was entertaining. I couldn’t put the book down so read it in one sitting. This Special Forces series has been wonderful from the very first book.
This is the third book in this wonderful series and is a total stand alone so you don’t need to have read the previous two but do yourself a favour and grab them as well you won’t be disappointed as with all Jen’s book this flows well travels at a fast pace and keeps you engaged It is one of her shorter books but in no way compromises because of that.
Olympia hates everything to do with the military but she especially hates the navy after all they won’t help her with the disappearance of her twin brother Woodrow they are just saying he is AWOL but she knows he would never walk away voluntarily The last name that her brother mentioned to her was Landon Asher so she has no hesitation in breaking into his home trying to find clues to her brothers whereabouts Of course she is caught and that brings Landon and his team as well as friends from other teams into the hunt for Woodrow. Is there more to the story and is someone setting him up to take the fall for their treasonous acts You will have to read to see if the truth comes out
This is the 3rd installment in the Search & Rescue series but can absolutely be read as a stand alone! In this one we get Landon Asher and Olympia Anderson’s story. Olympia has come to Virginia to try to find her brother after he disappears from the Navy and she can’t get straight answers. She moves into an apartment across the hall from Landon after knowing he had spoken to her brother the last time she talked to him. But getting caught breaking into his apartment was not part of her plan. Nor for him to decide to help her. Now she just has to decide if she can trust him, which is the same thing he has to decide about her. Along with getting over their own personal demons to figure out what they could have together.
I really liked this one! Olympia went through something that no woman should ever have to go through. She came out the other side stronger but with some serious demons because of it, not that I blame her a bit! Asher also went through something that no one should have to go through and it broke my heart. But when he learns to open up, it’s an awesome thing. The story was fast paced along with some action and suspense. My only drawback-I wish it had been longer! There is also mention of her husband’s (widow) family and I wish we had seen something happen with them as well. But on a whole, I loved it! I wouldn’t mind a side story for her brother to see what he actually went through and how he got the girl too LOL!
Protecting Olympia was a fast-paced, engaging read. Both Landon and Olympia have tragedy in their pasts that have left deep emotional and mental scars. Olympia also has a twin brother who has gone missing and she fears the worst. Her only clue was a cryptic message from her brother where he mentions Landon’s name, so off she goes to form a plan and find answers. She had no clue the direction her snooping would lead or the danger she would stir with her digging. And even though she started off on the wrong foot with Landon (accusing him of hiding information and breaking into his apartment) he still offers to help her find answers and hopefully her brother, alive. The deeper they dig, the more clues and questions arise, and their attraction sizzles with danger nipping at the heels. They have a lot of emotional baggage to sift through to entertain having a relationship and move forward with their lives. I did enjoy the story but there were a few places it felt rushed and there were a couple of questions left hanging. Olympia and Landon’s heartfelt moments were sweet and I did like how it all worked out in the end.
*I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Let’s face it – if you’re going to break into someone’s house and search it, it’s not clever if that someone is a Navy SEAL– but Olympia does it anyway. Convinced that her bother’s disappearance has been ignored, she decides to investigate it herself – and Landon spoke to her brother on the day he disappeared. There is clearly a Navy coverup happening, so, once Landon’s decided Olympia could be right, he calls in his Team for backup. Jen Talty is great at tossing in red herrings, and there are many – the money, the arguments, the exes – you won’t be bored, I guarantee. And, as a book in the Operation Alpha world, we have the huge joy of some of Susan Stoker’s characters as well, and I’m not spoiling your anticipating by revealing who. Slightly darker than Jen Talty’s normal fare, this will not disappoint.

Olympia Anderson’s twin brother Woodrow is missing. He is a Lieutenant in the Navy and has been listed as AWOL, but she knows her brother would never walk away from the military…something is terribly wrong. When she tries to get information from the last person her brother saw, Navy SEAL Landon Asher, she finds herself in hot water. Landon vows to help her find her brother, knowing that what she learns may not be what she wants to hear. He is unaware of Olympia’s tragic past, but no stranger to his own loss he begins to break down her defenses. When Olympia is threatened, Landon and his teammates will discover what has happened to Woodrow and expose the guilty person. Olympia has learned to be tough, but with Landon’s help, will they both be able to heal? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
Olympia’s twin brother is missing and has been reported as awol by the Navy. Now, she knows he wouldn’t just disappear without letting her know. She moves in next door to the last person to see him. When she finally confides in Landen, he also realizes something is not right. Since he has deduced a coverup in the works, he gets his Navy brothers to start investigating this mystery on the down low. Nicely written. This is a more serious book than many of her others that are more humorous. Very intriguing and interesting. Catches you from the beginning to end. Really enjoyed this read!

This is Landon Asher and Olympia Anderson’s story. Olympia’s twin brother is missing and the Navy says he’s AWOL but she thinks he’s in danger. She breaks into Landon’s apartment because she thinks Landon is the officer her brother is talking about. Instead of calling the police Landon decides to help her. and he gets his team to help. This is a fast paced action filled book! We also see Landon and Olympia coming to terms with their past and moving forward.
This 3rd story in the author’s Special Forces, Operation Alpha, centers around Navy SEAL Landon Asher and Olympia Anderson.
Olympia’s twin brother has disappeared and while the Navy claims he went AWOL, Olympia is sure he’s in danger . Her brother, Woodrow, always wanted to be in the Navy so being accused of desertion and possibly selling secrets to the enemy is something Olympia believes.
In her determination to find her brother, she is caught sneaking into the home of a Navy SEAL. Instead of turning her into the police, Landon decides to help her.
An attraction exists between them, but they both carry a great deal heartbreaking baggage.
Will they be able to find Woodrow? Is he really innocent? Will they find their HEA, or will their past keep them apart?
This was a fast paced story. I have to confess that by not having read books 1 and 2, I was a tad overwhelmed with the numerous secondary characters that we were suppose to know . Because of that, I felt a tad left out and confused in trying to figure out who was who and was not able be totally engaged in the plot. I was going to give it a 3.5 stars rating, but I respect the author’s dedication in writing the story, and thus it gets 4 stars.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Another great book by the author. There are two tortured souls in this book. Olympia was brutally abused by her ex husband and Landon hasn’t gotten over the death of his wife and son and blames himself. They are brought together because olympia believes he’s the officer who knows something about her missing brother. There’s action, relief and forgiveness in this book. HEA.
