A man who doesn’t know he’s about to be a billionaire. A woman who is forced to marry well.
The tall Texan ranch hand leaned back against the corral fencing as he waited for the ranch guests to gather by the stable. His cowboy hat was pulled down shading his eyes as he chewed on the end of a tall piece of grass. This was his time to get a good look at the guests before he saddled their horses … he saddled their horses and helped them into the saddle. Working at the exclusive Rio Lago Ranch gave him a birds-eye view of a class of people much different from those in his home town in Minnesota. Jacob could size up most of the guests just by watching them a few minutes. Some guests were more trouble than others. He had learned how to avoid the advances of the women who found him very similar in appearance to the cover models on the western romance novels they loved. He wasn’t interested; the only woman he had ever loved he met on the run hiding floating down the Mississippi River years ago. What will happen when she shows up as a guest at the Rio Lago Ranch?
Will his late grandfather’s lawyers find him before she marries someone else?

This is a really sweet story of second chance love. A clean contemporary romance. The characters were all well defined and I fell in love with all of them. (Except maybe Chad) Jacob and Olivia had fallen in love but circumstances had separated them. Olivia and her fiancé were taking a week vacation at a dude ranch where Jacob and his brother Michael happen to be working. The story moved at a really good pace and of course ended with an “happy ever after”. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun quick read.
A sweet clean second chance romance. I love that these close friends were able to find each other again!
Lost Billionaire Heir, Sophia Summers’ 8th book in her Texas Ranch Romance series, is a fun read! I loved the idea of long-lost best friends reuniting. The way that Jacob, Michael, and Libby bond as a family is really a lovely thing. This quick read also had a great opposition character in Chad the controlling fiancé. The love story was sweet and the ending was great!
I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own and are expressed voluntarily.
This is a sweet contemporary western romance between Jacob and Libby. When Jacob and his younger brother lose their father in an accident, they become part of the foster care system. While on the run from foster care, Jacob and Michael meet Libby, a teenager from a wealthy family. The three teens bond over their loneliness and promise to remain friends forever. Although this part of the storyline is largely undeveloped, it is a pivotal part of the plot, as a significant bonding is inferred.
Years pass. When the three meet again on a dude ranch, Libby is a guest and Jacob and Michael are ranch hands. A villain and young love are the heart of this story.
Sophia Summers has written a sweet romance that emphasizes that a strong moral character is more important than money. She does a nice job in character development as well as background information and delivers an HEA ending.
This was a sweet story. I liked how the old friends found each other again. I also liked how some hard topics, like the foster care system and neglect, were handled. I liked how we knew they were a hard thing for the characters to go through but we didn’t get allow the emotional trauma that they experienced. I liked how the characters were a makeshift family when they were younger and that when they found each other again that same bond was there. I also like how when Jacob learned that he now had a fortune, it didn’t change him from the kind, hard working person he is.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
I enjoyed Jacob and Libby’s story of loss, true love and second chances. It was beautifully written, and the characters were well developed. I would highly recommend it.
