4 Crow Stars
Custom Built is the first book in the new series Fast & Fury by Chantal Fernando and this is a spin-off series from her Knights of Fury series.
The story is being told from Bronte’s POV, and it just felt so one-dimensional, I felt I was missing out on Crow POV and it took from the story in my opinion.
Bronte has lost her job due to her friend and ex-boss’ company struggling financially. Finding herself desperate she allows her uncle help her get a job with the Fast and Furious Custom Motorcycles. There she meets the very hot, very moody and very intense Crow.
I thought for a new series I was missing out somehow. I had read one of the other characters stories but I couldn’t remember which I had read. It was confusing and took away from the story. As a new series it shouldn’t have been so complicated to keep up. That aside I did enjoy this book and now that I have caught I will definitely read more in the series.
Custom Built is book one in the Fast & Fury series, although I didn’t realize that until just starting to write my review as a lot of the characters were in her previous serious (Knights of Fury) so I assumed it was part of that series. But I digress…. This book focuses on Crow, who is a member of the MC and who runs a motorcycle shop that the MC owns, and Bronte, who is down on her luck after receiving devastating health news and recently being let go from her job. By coincidence…or maybe not, Bronte ends up working at the motorcycle shop as a cashier/admin and she and Crow bump heads initially due to his attitude.
Before long, Bronte suffers more devastation and it becomes clear that Crow’s attitude was his inability to deal with his attraction to Bronte as opposed to his general jerkiness, and he takes on more of a support role for her and their relationship changes.
Custom Built is full of drama from beginning to end and the hits literally keep coming. I was not a fan of Crow in the beginning, but he did redeem himself pretty quickly. I wouldn’t say this was my favorite Chantal Fernando book, but it was interesting and engaging and I did read most of it in one sitting. I do overall enjoy her writing style and now that I know this starts a new series, I would probably check out the next books in the series as well.
I love Chantal Fernando’s books so much! All of her books may have an MC theme, but every single story is new and different! Custom Built was ana amazing first book in the new Fast and Fury series! Crow and Bronte’s story was amazing! I cannot wait for more!
Custom Built is book 1 in the new series: Fast and Fury by Chantal Fernando. The book tells the story of Bronte Pierce and her developing relationship with Crow. Bronte is looking for a new job after she has to be let go of her previous one due to the company struggling financially. Finding herself in a bind, her uncle helps her get a job with the Fast and Furious Custom Motorcycles, where she meets the very grumpy Crow. From there we see the development of her relationship with Crow as Bronte’s life starts to spiral out of control and she tries to find answers to a lot of things.
There is certainly a lot going on in this book, especially from Bronte’s point of view. For a person whose whole world is crumbling down, she is a pretty strong character and has some great friends who help her along the way. I really enjoyed reading the development between herself and Crow. I would have liked to have known a little bit more about Crow or at least to see things from his POV as he was a great character and definitely ticked my boxes for a great book boyfriend! I do love that he was a grumpy jerk to begin with and we slowly find out why he was that way to Bronte.
The sass and joking between the two characters were great to read too. I loved that although Bronte was going through a lot emotionally, Crow could still make her smile and would being her lunch. He really was pretty perfect as a boyfriend!
If you have read the previous MC book by this author, you will see some familiar faces in this book which add some camaraderie to Crow and Bronte’s relationship.
This was a really good start to a new series with a lot of emotional angst thrown in, a hunky book boyfriend and a woman whose strength knows no bounds. I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for other characters.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book.
I liked the character of Bronte but yet some of the things she did made me shake my head. Bronte is a good girl. The apple of her father’s eye who has hit a rough patch. Luckily her uncle is able to help her out and get her a job. I felt bad for Bronte as the hits kept coming. Luckily she had a support system behind her to help her. The part I couldn’t understand was how this good girl thought she could get answers without understanding the players and the game. I get that she wanted answers but yet I don’t think she completely understood the target she was putting on her back.
Crow was the perfect book boyfriend. He was gruff and a little standoffish in the beginning but after he got to know Bronte, you could see the gooey inside. He took care of her like nobody’s business and when he decides that she is his, nothing stops him from protecting her.
Custom Built slowly pulled me into the love story of Crow and Bronte. I fell in love with Crow. He is amazing. He is an alpha male, so overprotective, but is an amazing human being as well. I love how he is with her. Bronte is this awesome, independent, loving woman, with a fighting spirit. I loved these two and I loved their dynamic. The chemistry they have together leads to some steamy scenes. Crow and Bronte are beautiful together. They gave me all the feels. From where they started to where they ended up with a HEA, was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed Custom Built and read it in one sitting.
I adore this series and cannot wait for more stories to come.
This was a fantastic read! Crow and Bronte appear to be oil and water until she ventures out of her work life and into a social life. Then, all bets are off and Crow sets about letting Bronte know that not only is she his, she’s also got a new family to help her with her struggles. Their story had drama, mystery, danger, heartbreaking sadness at times, and plenty of hope for the future. And through it all, Crow is there to support and care for Bronte in any way she needs him. Luckily for him, Bronte is a strong woman who is able to care and support him just as much in return.
I didn’t read the Knights of Fury books, but I wasn’t lost at all by starting with this one. If anything, now I want to go back and read the other books just because I can. I’ll be very interested to see where this series leads us next.
