Logan doesn’t have time for relationships, he tried it once and was betrayed. Now all he has time for is his business and one night stands. Ben is an artist and hasn’t been able to paint anything for over a year since his ex boyfriend, Zach, left him. They both go on a dating app and end up connecting for a one night stand. They go to Logan’s island and because of a storm it ends up lasting for six days. I really enjoyed this book.
Ben is currently a struggling artist, in a small apartment with his cat, and failing to paint. His boyfriend of several years, the man he thought he would grow old with broke up with him and he hasn’t felt creativity strike since, it probably doesn’t help that most of his paintings were of his boyfriend…in the nude. Logan is the owner of a large tech corporation, constantly busy and letting work drive the direction of his day-to-day life and his personal life. He has stuck to dating apps and one-night stands, because he’s already made the mistake of letting someone get to close before, and he’s not going to do it again. Logan and Ben’s first meeting is full of anger and annoyance, but there is also a little spark. When Logan goes on a dating app and finds Ben, he immediately knows that this is the man he needs in his bed. He just didn’t realize that his one night stand on his remote island, would turn into six nights after a huge storm passes through. But maybe, they both need this time to find out what they have been missing in their lives, to find something and someone to hold onto.
This is my first read by Kevin Sean, and after reading this book I know it won’t be my last! As a reader, I felt captivated by both of the main characters; both men were hiding behind this put-together persona but in reality were falling apart, even if they didn’t realize it. Ben is a sweet, gentle, soul and he makes you just want to hold him close and tell him everything’s okay. Logan is gruffer on the outside and in a way he has to be, for being young and wealthy, he never knows who could take advantage of him. The chemistry between them was magic, and I only wish the book was longer so I could be more immersed into these two characters lives.
This is a new author for me and I really wanted to love the book but it wasn’t to be! I liked the characters and the concept/story idea but it was let down by a couple of things. Firstly, it needed a final edit/proofread as there were quite a few missing words, mixed up names. Secondly it just didn’t flow, it felt long and in parts disjointed and honestly some really way out solutions to problems. I know its fiction but it just didn’t always work for me.
Wen, once is not enough. Logan, found a perfect solution to not having to waste time investing in a relationship. Just have a series of one night stands. Get in, get out. Ben, the artist needed inspiration for his paintings. He needed a muse. He thought a one nighter would serve the purpose. Didn’t quite work out that way. They started out with what was supposed to be a one night stand. Then a storm his that stranded them together for six days. During that time, they were forced to expand their relationship. Reluctantly, they got to know each other. They ended up exploring depths and heights they didn’t know they could achieve, appreciate or even want. Good story. Both Logan and Ben are amazing men. Are they open to exposing themselves? Will they listen to each other? Can they go more than a week? I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The No Names Policy…
by and1515
Ben was frustrated he was still reeling from the end of his last relationship a year ago and his creative streak had dried up he was tired of painting pictures of his ex-boyfriend.
Logan had founded his own company and absolutely lived to chase excitement he’d been working on his latest pitch for a new app.
Ben’s first impression of Logan was less then stellar however the view had been more than gratifying.
Logan wasn’t looking for attachments he preferred to keep his hook-ups to brief moments with no names or numbers sneaking out at dawn.
He’d been perusing a particular hook-up site looking for someone to unwind with for a few hours.
Ben was giddy maybe this was just what he needed after all he’d been stuck with nothing to inspire him.
The guy from the bakery was gorgeous and Logan was no fool and all he wanted was to really bad things to Ben.
However neither counted on the weather Logan was beyond furious he needed to go to work but apparently that’s not happening.
Then there’s that weird moment of awkwardness he didn’t even know the name of the guy standing in front.
Ben Carpenter.
Someone was messing with his company one of his competitor’s was stealing from his company.
But the thing is what do you do when the arrangement you made isn’t working because there might be more but then fear could end things before they really have a chance.
