She’s been appointed Happiness Ambassador which means it’s her job to solve an … job to solve an assortment of nutty guest troubles from tracking down grapefruit flavored jellybeans to babysitting a colicky chihuahua.
That is, until a member of the deck crew churns up dead.
There’s a new killer on the Journee bent on righting the evils of the past and torching anyone in the present who gets in the way.
Unfazed, the ever-curious Poppy flings herself into the fray, determined to smoke out the fiend and uncover the truth.
Will Poppy be able to extinguish the flaming murderous desires of a mad person or will it just be jumping out of the fire and into the frying pan?

This was a great mystery! I had no clue who did what until Poppy gave the reveal at the end. I loved how she put it all together.

Poppy has really come into her own, on the ship. When faced with adversity she turned that into an opportunity to help others. Ms. Lester’s writing has a way of transporting the reader into the book. This book is well written as well as the others in the series.
This book could read alone, but it is best to have read the others in the series.

Poppy is a concierge and Happiness Ambassador on the cruise ship. They find the body of the captain in a laundry machine, behind an out of order sign. The hunt is on and the twists and situations are wild. The characters are quirky, especially her dad and sister who are also on the cruise. The ending brings it all together nicely. Well done.

I have enjoyed this series and this installment puts Poppy’s cushy job as the chip concierge at risk as her job might be redundant. The ship’s flamboyant captain (or is it an act?) is being spied on by his brother…a person the company trust a bit more. And yes Poppy’s family is still enjoying the cruise ship along with Poppy. But are their days on the ship numbered? Poppy herself says there hasn’t been a disaster on the ship for a few months. , maybe the curses are all behind them. Jinx??? Why borrow trouble when you can find it later?? And all of this foreshadowing is all in the first two chapters. Throw in the Blue Bonnets elderly vacation group in with some sibling rivalry and you have a great cozy mystery novel. Paula Lester is a delightful storyteller.
Our heroine has a new role, but she still gets stuck with all the problems. Including a murder…
This is book three of the series, but it works fine as a standalone.
This is a cozy mystery book set on a cruise ship. I found the book to be well written and easy to read. I have really been enjoying the cruise ship setting as it provides a great justification for pulling together an interesting combination of characters. I also really like our heroine and the crazy situations she gets involved in. The story provides just the right combination of mystery and humor to make for a wonderful story. Overall, another highly enjoyable cruise.
Highly recommended

Mr Voss is challenged by members of his extended family over monies used to help start the cruise line and destination package venture.
An annoying brother, Finn, to Mr. Voss, and a bevy of less than qualified crew selected by him are only the beginning of the challenges
Folks with old grudges, and new dark designs are many on this trouble plagued journey
Can Poppy help resolve so many dilemmas? Whom can she trust, when even her nearest and dearest seem to be wrapped up with folks who have agendas?
