USA Today Bestselling author Claudia Burgoa presents a witty, funny & heartfelt billionaire, enemies-to-lovers romance. I hate my boss. He’s the devil in disguise—but I just can’t seem to stay away. When my employer Henry Alderidge is set to claim a large inheritance from his deceased father, he drags me along with him—because he needs his assistant. I have no choice but to move across the … have no choice but to move across the country with Satan’s bastard and stay with him for over a year in order to pay for my mother’s debts.
Henry drags me to a small town where everyone knows your business and to a family that’s more broken than close. The Alderidge brothers are handsome, arrogant, and sinful.
They’re also too much to handle.
Henry’s dad lost his mind before he died, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I don’t know how I’ll survive for eighteen months with this man.
Except you should never judge a book by its cover. And Henry Alderidge has more hiding beneath the surface than I ever thought possible…
The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga packed with the perfect mix of angst, tears, and laughs. If you like strong heroines & alpha males, steamy romances and witty love stories, this series is for you!

Welcome back to Baker’s Creek, sit back ,relax and enjoy the show cause things are about to get interesting!!
When we met Sophia and Henry in Loved You Once I just knew their story was going to be explosive but boy I just wasn’t prepared for the fireworks this one set off.
Sophia has been informed by her boss, aka the spawn of Satan that she will not be staying in New York to be interim CEO but will still be assisting the Devil in Baker’s Creek. She wants to kill him and climb his body in equal measure but instead of filling her mind with steamy scenes of her boss she must hunker down and not let the scheming bastard get to her. But doing so is a lot harder than it seems and he is determined to burrow deeply under her skin.
Henry is a bastard and he knows it but while Sophia thinks he can live without her he knows he can’t. Thus he is forcing her to move to Baker’s Creek with him for the 18 months dear ol’ daddy has imposed upon him and his brothers in order to save the town. Funny thing, he’s never wanted any woman for more than a night but he can’t get his mind off his sexy assistant and he doesn’t want her for just a night but that goes against anything he’s ever believed about himself. Maybe persistence will pay off and he can show her that beneath the ice cold exterior his heart beats only for her.
OMG the Aldridge Brothers are a force to be reckoned with and nothing and no one will stand in the way of them being with the one they love. Not only are they realizing that they can not only have money and power but they can also have love and family and really what else matters more in life than that.
5 Chocolate covered strawberries stars!!!
love the Aldridge brothers
love this series
intense emotional heartstopping love story
of Henry and Sophia
cant wait for more
As this series continue to unfold I am loving these Aldridge brothers who were put together once their pass away for a period of time. Henry and Sophie who has a silent connection love between them. A strong alpha male was groom for the business world and Sophie being a strong herione that care of her own. A must read for sure and can’t for the next book in the series.
It’s official, I am fully invested in this family and the craziness they are going through. But let me say, it’s gonna drive me crazy not knowing what those letters say!!
I wasn’t sure what to think going into this book. I knew I was gonna love Sophia but I wasn’t sure about Henry. He proved himself to me though, 100 times over. He may not have gone about doing things the right way but he sure loved Sophia. I couldn’t be happier these two got their HEA, even with the twist!
Now to wait oh so patiently for the next book. Word of advice though, if you haven’t read Hayes’ book (Loved You Once) put this book down and go read it. Things will make more sense then. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Although this is number two in the series, and I have not read the first book, that didn’t make a difference. The background was well set up so I didn’t feel like I missed anything. Sophia works for Henry Alderidge, or the devil’s spawn as she calls him. When Henry has to move to Baker’s Creek to fulfil the conditions of his father’s will, he tells Sophia has to come too. As Sophia’s salary helps out her parents, she can’t afford not to go. Being away from the pressures of New York, Henry starts to relax and when both Sophia and Henry both confess that they have feelings for each other, it looks like this could be their happy ever after. But of course, life is never that easy and when things get tough, both Henry and Sophia have to decide if what they have is enough. Henry is a strong, alpha male who would do anything for the woman he loves, and Sophia is a strong, smart, confident woman who knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. Loved this book.
Let’s not bury the lede: This is my favorite Claudia Burgoa book. This is the best out of the bookshelf.
Now, here’s the thing: I could tell you all the great stuff as to WHY I loved the story but then this review would be fraught with SPOILERS. In the end, what was it?
How Henry showed Sophia the man he truly was.
How Henry showed Sophia how he valued her.
How Henry learned that allowing others in opens trust and solid relationship – whether love or family.
Family is who you allow in your circle – not always blood.
How Sophia got it all wrong. Once the smoke and mirrors cleared the field, she saw what was there all along.
So the story starts off with the reader having a thought “Okay this is going to be enemies to lovers’ story. They are going to snipe at each other until they fall into bed.”
Just to let you know, you are going to find out you are wrong. But that’s the fun of reading this couple. You get to discover as they do – they have loved each other from the start. It’s the ‘things’ that get in the way. I love seeing the soft underbelly of a character exposed – and we get that with Henry. Sophia may be an outward man-eater – nope – we learn her motivations and makes her stronger in our eyes.
And there are ‘things’. Exit character MX – whom you KNOW is the villain. HA! Keep reading.
This is a refreshing and brilliantly told twist on the enemies to lovers you don’t see coming. I literally got to the “OH Wait a second moment” and stayed up to 2 AM to finish.
WARNING: You need to read book 1. Although you get detail from the author on why they are in Baker’s Creek, I think the story was far more satisfying for me in seeing Henry and Sophia through the lens of Hayes first to really see Henry.
Recommendation: Buy It
I loved every moment of this one. A Moment Like You is book 2 in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series and it is just as fantastic as the first one. Yes you probably should read Loved You Once first just to get the full experience of the Aldridge brothers and what they are facing. This is Henry’s book. Henry comes off as full of himself, workaholic and really not very likeable. But really as you get to know him more and more you see such a different side of him. He is more. He is caring in his own way that you wouldn’t expect. He sees everything a different way to make things work. I love how he finally forms a bond with his brothers. He changes and has this huge heart in this one especially when it comes to Sophia. You will love Sophia as she handles Henry. She is his right hand and more. They have this banter that you will love and you can just feel as the sparks start to fly there is no stopping them. Sophia is so lovely and really fits right into the Aldridge world and how she can hold her own with the men. Sophia and Henry’s love is so lovely. If you haven’t started to fall in love with the Aldridge men then you will start to fall after this. I really can’t wait for more of the brothers to fall and see if they can save the town.
4 Star Review of A Moment Like You (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #2) by
Claudia Y Burgoa
The second book in the latest series from Claudia Burgoa and it was as entertaining as the first book and it can be read as a stand alone. A Moment Like You is Henry and Sophia’s story and is heart warming and also a bit of an emotional roller coaster of a read.
I enjoyed the humour, camaraderie and banter between Henry and Sophia. Henry is a stubborn man but Sophia is just the woman to keep up with him. Will Sophia be able to break down the walls that Henry’s up-bring created and in doing so open them both up to a chance for love and happiness?
The characters were entertaining and the story was well written. Angsty at times and heart warming it made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes.
What do you think happens when you toss together six brothers who barely know and don’t particularly like each other and force them to live together for eighteen months? The Aldridge brothers are each successful and accomplished, but if they don’t fulfill the stipulations of their father’s will, an entire town will suffer, people will be out of jobs, and a lot of lives will be devastated.
Henry Aldridge is the oldest of the brothers, and the head of a hotel conglomerate from his mother’s side of the family. He’s driven, Type A++, and a bit short tempered, and he doesn’t mind expressing his dissatisfaction with moving across the country at the behest of a man he despised. But if he’s going to have to stay in Baker’s Creek for the next year and a half, he’s not doing it without his right hand, Sophia Aragon.
As good as Sophia is at her job, she’s still sometimes amazed she has lasted so long working for a man who’s been known to fire assistants on a daily basis. But she gives as good as she gets and doesn’t hesitate to stand up to Henry, and she makes sure he compensates her generously for putting up with his grumpiness.
I already loved Sophia from the first book. She’s smart and knows how to make things happen, has a huge heart, loves her family fiercely, and will do anything for those she cares about. Henry, however, was a different story. We saw only the workaholic, bossy side of him, and I was not at all impressed. But holy wow, this guy has layers, and the more they were peeled back, the more I loved him. And when he makes a decision to commit to something, he’s all in.
Y’all, I can’t tell you how much I adore this series! Burgoa has a gift for creating big, messy, cobbled-together families who effortlessly abscond with a reader’s heart while making her feel like another member of the family. The Aldridge brothers may be rich and even famous, with personalities larger than life, but that messy part? They each have flaws, shortcomings, and a lot of growth that needs to happen, but somehow those imperfections make them that much more endearing and relatable.
Honestly, I’m in awe that this truly gifted storyteller delivers such quality work time and again, and each new book is better than the last. If you like quirky, charming small-town romance, look no further. With touches of humor, a nice dose of steam and so much heart it spills from the pages, this is one you definitely don’t want to pass up. This series easily earns a spot in my list of top five series for the year, so run to the 1-Click and start reading Henry and Sophia’s story today!
Claudia Burgoa has done the impossible and made me fall madly in love with Henry Aldridge. If you read Loved You Once (Hayes and Blaire’s Book), then you know that Henry came across as the epitome of tall, dark and asshole. And now, he owns my heart!! A Moment Like You (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #2) is an outstanding and unforgettable addition to this series. This beautifully crafted contemporary romance will capture your heart and have you swooning from the beginning to the wonderful end.
Henry and Sophia’s story is touching, sexy, entertaining and really set my heart on fire. These characters were filled with a great amount of depth, their background gave so much more to the development of the storyline which is solid and a consistent page turner. Their chemistry is real and their feelings are true. And their clever and witty banter (I love it when Sophia puts Henry in his place) is awesome and when they finally give in to their attraction, it’s oh so hot and sexy!!
A Moment Like This is romantic perfection and everything I could’ve hoped for and more. Bring on the next Aldridge brother’s book!!
A Moment Like You by Claudia Burgoa a five-star read that will stay with you longer than a moment. This is number two in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series and I hadn’t read number one, but I will be going back to pick it up, I didn’t feel lost reading this one as the background is set up well, but I am just so engrossed in this family I need more!! Henry Aldridge is a powerful man, and one that is so used to getting his own way and ruling the roost, what happens when someone steps up and says no. But the thing is Sophia can only say no to so much, her family rely on her so much that she would struggle to say no to the extent that she needs. Life then goes on a whirlwind and well takes her away and spits her out the other side all twirled up and lost, but sometimes a change of scenery really is what you need and sometimes it’s more than just you that needs the change. All of the Aldridge boys have a part to play in this story and they all step up in different ways, Henry is one that changed my mind several times about himself, how much heart he shows really surprised me, my only question left is which brother will we hear about next.
I had to read this twice because I felt like I was missing something. Turns out I’m an idiot and jumped pages when I wasn’t paying attention. Whoops!
So, this book was very good! I absolutely loved the banter between the all the characters. Those Aldridge men sure are charmers!
I’m glad Martina was able to see the light and move on.
Who’s next???
This one will keep you guessing! Debra @janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
This was a fun read that kept me feeling mostly light with a few moments of angst. I did not read the first book in the series but I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. It was a story that kept you on your toes with all the hidden agenda’s in the will of the dad but these boys and their women are truly smart enough to work with and around some of them. It is really quite a unique series subplot that weaves into the current story.
I love Sophia and how smart she is. She has a good heart and has big caring and protective instincts. She also is a think outside the box kinda lady.
Henry is a man who most feel is cold and heartless but that is because he doesn’t show he is in fact just the opposite. His upbringing has a lot to do with how he and his brothers are.
There are quite a few surprises in the story that just make it fun and twisty. Honestly a story I did enjoy for all its parts.
