Cassie
When my sister was too sick to use her ski-resort vacation package, she passed it on to me, hoping it would get my mind off my recent job layoff and my disaster ex-boyfriend. I was hoping a little self-care would help me find the courage to be a new Cass, a better Cass. I want some confidence and control over my life, beginning New Cass’s experiences with an early-spring hike in the … in the beautiful mountain country of Moonlight Ridge.
But now I’m lost. My cell phone has no signal, it’s getting dark, and it’s begun snowing. Can this vacation go any more wrong?
Weston
I grew up in these mountains: self-reliant, strong, living on my family’s land. My job as a forest ranger keeps me near my family, here in the mountains I love, but sometimes I get lonely on my own.
When my dog Max starts howling outside my cabin in the middle of a snowstorm, I dash outside with my rifle, practically knocking over the most beautiful, voluptuous, almost-frozen girl I’ve ever met.
Now I’ll do anything I can to hold on to her and show her my mountains, my way of life, and my heart. Will Cassie find the courage to give me hers?

Captured by Moonlight by Carly Keene is the first of six books in a steamy mountain men short romance between Cassie and Weston. Cassie is insecure and depressed after being dumped by her boyfriend and Weston is lonely and looking for a wife since he lives in a small town filled with mostly family. A great read for anyone that lives to read about books with a happy ending.

I I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The characters of Anna and Wilder are well developed and engaging and the undeniable chemistry between the couple made for a great insta love story.

Anne is an artist who is traveling to Atlanta to look for a job as a graphic artist. Along the way her car blows up. She runs out of money. She is off the main route and hasn’t seen a person for 2 hours. This is when a huge black truck comes over the hill. Wilder works as an engineer. He sees Anne and is instantly attracted to her. He likes her personality. Her curves. Her shyness. He wants her to stay with him forever but he doesn’t want to scare her away with that declaration. I again must say that I really like this story. The characters are likable. The story is sweet, romantic, tender moments matched with smoking hot passion. I great little read that should brighten your day! Happy reading!

3 1/2* She has left home to find a new life in Atlanta. She ends up driving in beautiful mountains and wishes she could live somewhere like that. Then her car breaks down and she ends up in a ditch. That is where the H finds her. From there it is insta-love and insta-lust and they quickly find their hea. There is one big issue between pgs 9-12 where there are a couple of paragraphs which are repeated. I’m going to notify the author about this so it may get fixed.

On a ski vacation given to her by her sister that became sick, Cassie can use it to get away from it all. Deciding to go on a hike on the mountain she is stranded by a snow storm. Weston comes face to face with Cassie when his dog alerts him something or someone is near. He is a forest ranger and lives on the land that has been in his family alone. I enjoyed reading this cute story with lots of heat; well done.

Cassie is unprepared. She’s on and prepared to take an emergency ski spa resort vacation. Why because her sister and brother-in-law were supposed to take it but they got sick. This is the last weekend for the trip that he want to be valid valid. So she did not check out the resort. She did not check the driving route from Pennsylvania to West Virginia. She did not check that the area was radio silent.Cassie also did not check the hiking route but she wanted to take when she left the resort. And she was not prepared when the Ranger mountain man a.k.a. Weston and his dog Max found her in the snow almost froze to death. So with all that being said there is adventure in the story. No cliffhanger.

The author has given us characters we can care about. After losing her job and boyfriend, Cassie is ready to change her life around. She goes to a resort for the weekend and decides she will start her new life by hiking in the mountains. However, she gets lost and a storm moves in. When she finally sees a light in the woods she is almost frozen to death. Weston finds her and saves her. They have an instant attraction, but can the mountain man and city girl make a relationship work?

An all-expense paid trip to a ski resort was the perfect solution to Cassie losing her job and her boyfriend. At least, according to her sister it was, so why not? It takes forever to get to the resort, and a carb coma that night has her waking up late the next day. Not that it matters ’cause she decides to go for a hike. And ends up lost. Right when it starts snowing.
Well, it doesn’t get any better than that.
Weston’s a forest ranger who works too much, has a dog for company, and is sorta lamenting the fact that he’s lonely. He wants someone who not only appreciates the mountains like he does but could build a life with him up there. It’s by chance, and his barking dog, that he happens to find a half-frozen and completely lost Cassie.
Favorite part of this story was when Cassie’s narrative was of her saying “Mine.” This isn’t a dialogue I come across often in insta-love romances. That declaration is usually from the hero. To have a heroine say it was worth an excited laugh and a, “Go get him, girl!”
There was a lot of hesitation on Cassie’s part when it came to listening to her heart. Even though she knew with every part of her being, her heart, her soul, that Weston was hers, the hurt she’d experienced by her ex’s words and actions left her reluctant to pursue it longer than one night. Doubt, memories of such a life- and heart-changing night, and a new perspective of life are great motivators though. In Cassie’s case, they sent her to where her heart knows is home: Weston.
I liked this story. More than alot. It’s short but sweet. Their separation was hard but understandable. Coming back and asking to stay forever… Well, isn’t that they way all romances should end? And Weston and Cassie certainly deserved theirs.

This Book 1 Moonlight Ridge Mountain Men Series is my first book by Carly Keene and it definitely won’t be my last. It is a well-written short insta-love romance with an alpha man and curvy woman where he has to rescue her from the elements. These characters are well-developed for a short story and you fall in love with them. The chemistry is instant with these two and the story flows smoothly and is great sweet story. A Must Read HEA with no cliffhangers.

Such a sweet short read. Not only was there a possessive man but you see the woman do it first. Thati s a nice change. The characters are well developed but Cassie and Weston seem to have an instant attraction. Cassie has been through it all in a short time she lost her job and then her boyfriend. It is not like we will miss his character much since it was explained he was shallow and liked to keep Cassie down. In one night Weston knows he wants Cassie forever but Cassie is not so sure. Will there be a HEA??
