Cruel. Heartless. Quarantined.
The ruthless boys of Everlake Prep never saw lockdown coming.
But the virus isn’t their number one enemy.
I am.
And as if being confined to a boarding school for the elite wasn’t bad enough, now I’m stuck in isolation with the boys who hate me most too.
Saint, Kyan and Blake. The Night Keepers. Or so they call themselves. They’ve embodied the Native American … Native American legend which lives in this valley, taking on the role of the monsters who lurk in the forest. And though they act like beasts, they may also be the most tempting creatures I’ve ever seen.
With the virus escalating and my dad’s name splashed through the news, my entire world is falling apart. What he did has cast a dark shadow over me. And the Night Keepers want to make me pay for his crimes.
Then things went from bad to worse when I touched the sacred rock. A rock which supposedly holds a curse to bind me as the Night Keepers’ slave. And as crazy as it sounds, I decided to play along. Because there are things about me they don’t know. Things my dad has hidden from me for years. All I can be sure of is that I have to find a way to escape this school. But until then, those savage boys are making my life a living hell.
As the virus sweeps through the country and the world twists into something ugly and unknown, the kings of this school become true monarchs. Even the teachers bow to them now. And I’m kinda glad about that ‘stay six feet away from one another’ rule, because without it, I know they’d rip me apart.
At least there’s a silver lining. I’m cosying up to Coach Monroe. My hot as hell, brooding P.E. teacher who has a vendetta of his own against the Night Keepers. And with his help, I may succeed at doing more than escaping the clutches of these heartless fiends. I might even destroy them along the way.
My father taught me how to be strong.
How to prepare for the end of the world.
So this isn’t going to be the end of my world, mark my words.
But if I’m able to use my mind and body to bring these assholes to their knees, it might just be the end of theirs.
This is a high school bully RH series with off the charts angst, dark themes and is not for the faint of heart. Prepare to enrol at Everlake Prep. Bring your hand sanitiser, face masks and toilet paper to barter with, but don’t expect to hold onto them for long. Because it’s time to go into quarantine with the Night Keepers. And everything you own now belongs to them.

This book is so much more than the usual “pampered bully boys who have Mommy issues” scenario. I’ve read a lot of those lately, and I was pleasantly surprised that this series is very original. I love the virus spin, the MFC, and the sexy Teacher angle. I’m all here for it. Way to go!
This the first book I have read by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti and I was not disappointed. I have seen so many people recommend this series that I wanted to jump in before the last one is published.
This book is dark. The bullying and humiliation is pretty intense. It is told in 5 different perspectives – Tatum, Saint, Blake, Kyan and Monroe – which gives us more insight and allows us to learn a little about their past as well.
Tatum is badass and super snarky, but realizes that she needs to play the Night Keepers’ (Saint, Blake and Kyan) game to keep herself safe during the pandemic. She ends up befriending Monroe (the P.E. teacher) through training and mutual dislike of the Night Keepers. They come up with a plan to use their weaknesses against them.
The last few chapters of this book was so intense and I was hanging on every moment. It truly shows how desperate people can get during times of uncertainty. I can’t wait to see what happens in Kings of Lockdown!
OMG I love this series so much. I was hooked instantly and couldn’t put it down for even a second. The characters are fleshed out and the story line is unpredictable.
This book was so good. As someone who works in healthcare during this horrible pandemic and reads to escape, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to read this series. I was very wrong. While there are some similarities to the pandemic we are facing today -the toilet paper, the hording, the terrifying news- there’s also something interesting about being trapped in a school with the elite of the country. This book has it all, the dark dirty gritty world we are living in, and the dark humor that I find particularly amazing. Thanks for writing this. I didn’t know I needed it until now.
This book had so many twists and turns and I rarely saw it coming. The cliff at the end was WONDERFUL and TERRIFYING! My heart was in my throat the entire last chapter!!
“She was a warrior embodied, refusing to bow down no matter what was thrown at her. And only rising stronger each time she fell”
Oh. My. God. Ok, so I knew that Caroline and Susanne wrote strong heroines. I was expecting it. But I was NOT expecting Tatum. She is a bossy, take-no-shit woman. She is fierce and I love her. But she’s also smart, so she knows just how much to bend to the boys to keep them on her side. She was beaten down by these guys and forced into impossible situations, but came out stronger each and every time.
“We were bound by her.”
These men. My god.
So, Blake, my sweet, sweet Blake. He lost his mother to the virus and that’s always horrible, but the things he deals with in addition add to his motivations for the dark things he does to Tatum. I loved his character and that I never knew what stage of grief I was getting with him. But he has been one of my favorites to read about.
Kyan may seem like a broody badass who gives no cares about the world, but there is something happening there, I just can’t figure out what. Though, I do hate him at times, I do want to know his whole story and what he’s hiding from his brothers.
There are many words I could use to describe Saint Memphis, but he is someone you have to read about. The meticulous way he is about everything in his life is somewhat hilarious and at the same times makes me want to hug him tight and make sure his breakfast is on the table at the exact right minute.
Monroe… excuse me sir, why weren’t my gym teachers this hot? Every scene with Monroe left me with a couple more questions and in need of a change of panties. I can not wait to see more of him in the next books.
I am obsessed with this series. I devoured these books and I’m sad when they’re over. I get completely lost within the Everlake world.
Holy smokes night keepers!
My goodness this was one heck of a read.
The twists, the developments of each important character, the power plays and struggles, the endless intense, on the edge of your seat moments.
This book is one of a kind, academy, dark, bully romance. The monsters of reality, without horns and wings you can see, but know they can shred a person all the same.
Just when the book gets to a point you think it might end with all the death and favorite characters done in, plot twist, and the feelings brought in, to drag you into the undercurrent, tumbling under the water rushing and rocks bashing your head with this all to close to home virus and chaos our world.
Ready to dive into book two now!
This book was just what I needed.
The sisters have done it again. Each time they write a story it just draws me in and won’t let me go. Tatum is a girl who is just plain bad ass. Her dad has made sure that she is self-sufficient and can take care of herself in almost any situation, except for school. Then we have the three kings of the school. Kyan, Saint and Blake. Each of these boys has some Demon inside of them that calls to her. Can she figure out what it is that makes them tick? She if they have anything besides what they show to the world?
And then we have Monroe. The mysterious man who is like the kings, and yet different somehow.
And if you have read any book from these talented ladies, you know that not everyone and everything is at it seems. So buckle up and be prepared for an amazing adventure
What more can be said about a book this good that hasn’t been said already.
Found this series in a challenge and it hooked me in from page one. I’m now trying to speed read book 2 to be prepared for book 3s release.
This book has everything you would want in a dark bully romance set in current times with our own pandemic going on.
I absolute am in love with the characters the are exquisitely written.
I bought the audiobook and the narration is spot on.
I don’t even have the words to articulate my thoughts about this book…but I’m going to try. Kings of Quarantine was definitely a dark read and definitely a bully book. If you’re looking for those elements, you’ve found them. And yet, it was also such a refreshing story amid the reality in which we find ourselves as this book is released.
Tatum is a great female main character. I found her relatable. I loved her strength and resolve. I empathized with her emotional struggles and her attraction to the guys. And…ah, yes…the guys. Saint, Blake, and Kyan are the right mix of hot, broken bad boys you want to fix, fight, and f@%k. And, of course, there’s Monroe, because why not add a little age gap/forbidden teacher/student romance into the apocalyptic mix.
The story is good. The writing is good. The characters are great. The sexual tension is high. The action is non-stop. I really can’t wait to see how the next part of this story plays out!
I’d definitely much rather read about what we’re experiencing right now than have it play out in real life. I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy.
This was recommended in one of my reader groups and I was not disappointed. I’m not a huge fan of RH but this one is definitely worth the read. The guys are all bad boys that you want to slap and drool over at the same time. The take on the TP shortage is hilarious. My only negatives was the female lead is supposed to be trained in all this self-defense and can kick butt in an underground fighting ring, yet she’s more of a damsel in distress around the guys. Tatum is the daughter of a leading scientist working on a cure for the Hades Virus that is spreading around the world. When her dad stashes her at Everlake Prep Academy for her safety Tatum has no idea what she’s in store for, especially when her dad gets accused of releasing the virus and she becomes the most hated girl in school. The three boys who rule over the school like it’s their personal kingdom are going to make her pay for the sins of her father. But they may all end up fighting for their lives when the world goes crazy and comes crashing down on their secluded campus.
This book had me completely and totally hooked on trying to finish in one sitting. However, with all the plot twists, surprises, and bombshells, I had to occasionally set it down and process. This book had me laughing, crying, cringing, and even yelling at the characters in the story. I can’t wait to see how the next bok will go.

Kings of Quarantine (Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep #1)
Tatum Rivers has been brought up to be tough, self reliant, resilient & strong by her ‘Prepper’ Dad. He’s a Virologist that travels the Country dealing with viruses of the worst kind. He’s made the executive decision to place her in an exclusive Boarding School, it is secluded near the mountains, for her entire Senior year. She’s begged him not to leave her behind but he’s adamant. He said he needs his full concentration for the newest virus that’s started rearing its head – The Hades Virus!! He thinks she’ll be safer there.
She’s determined to make the best of it if possible. She’d actually love to settle in & make some proper friends for the first time. Her roommate, Mila, is bubbly & they immediately hit it off. She warns her about the Night Keepers & how she must not get on the wrong side of them no matter what! Being meek isn’t in Tatum’s DNA but she promises to play along with it though. She’s told she’ll have the chance to be initiated at the start of term party! It goes well & she hooks up with Blake. The next morning her life, in school & possibly her entire future, will change forever!!
The Night Keepers – Blake, Kyan & Saint are brutal, spoiled & broken inside. They each have a monster they hide inside of them. Blake’s is the most tame, at first. Kyan has secrets that’s he’s worried could cast him out! He battles an emptiness within that he fills with violence. Saint is the most dangerous, he’s deadly! He needs total control to keep himself in check so his demon doesn’t come out!! The only person on Campus they don’t push back against is Monroe, their P.E & Football Coach. He could care less about their money & privilege he just wants results. No one messes him. He’d only 6 yrs older than the Students & is sick of the brats hitting on him, the ‘rich b*tches’ do nothing for him!!
This is an outstanding, though disturbing read. It’s utterly gripping but repulsive in its brutality, power play’s & belittling of others! What happens to Tatum is awful. I, personally, can’t imagine a scenario where this behaviour could produce anything but loathing & hatred, which is what I hate about bully romances, but Tatum seems to have a bit of monster in her too!! I hope Saint & Blake burn in hell at this point. I have a horrible feeling Kyan’s family will have had something to do with either the Hades Virus or they’ve stolen everyone’s family fortunes!! I hope book #2 in this duet doesn’t take too long to get into my grubby hands because I’m addicted again by this Author’s character’s & storyline!
